A Great Shoe-from a big guy

This shoe is wonderful-I was a dedicated Nike Lunarglide guy-put over 500 miles each on V1, V2, & V3 as I am 5'8" and 193 lbs and run at least 30 miles/week. I decided to try the 890V2's due to it being lighter. The shoe is great and FAST. I did my best 1/2 (5th) on 2-19-12 at 1:41 and my best marathon(2nd) on 3-4-12 at 4:02. I feel great running in this shoe and it wears well as I have 162 miles on my first pair and they are fine. I guess it is the lower heel to toe drop that I like. No injury/soreness issues. Big guy approved!! Get 1/2 size bigger. My foot is 10 1/2 and I wear 11.

Great sequel

Great shoe. I have the original 890 before and this one has a little more stability. I had an ankle issue with the old 890 and with this one it has gone away. There are other good shoes out there, but few as light as this one.

Great shoe!

After trying many, many shoe brands, I've finally found the holy grail for me. Light weight, right amount of cushion and a nice ride. I ran a half marathon right out of the box, no break-in needed. Buying a second pair.

I love this series of shoes!

I am on my 4th pair of the 890 series shoes. The 1st 3 pairs were the original 890 and i got well over 1,700 miles on them. I bought the 890 v2 6 weeks ago and have over 150 miles them so far. I knew in the first couple of miles that they are as good as the originals. And i like that the heel drop is now 8mm instead of 12. I wear 11 2E's and they feel great on my feet, i run mostly road and a little single-track trail from time to time. I just ordered another pair of the V2's to hide under my bed so i have them when this pair is finished.

Great balance

Two years ago I started back running after a 10 yr plus lay off. I began running with Mizuno Wave Rider, but they caused major knee pain. I switched to NB brand and initially started with the 880V2 which is no longer made. I purchased the 890V2 and it has been the best running shoe I have used to date. It's very lightweight and handles well on wet pavement. It is a neutral shoe, but has a great balance of cushion and stability. I average 20+ miles per week and my knees are feeling great! Highly recommend this shoe for the avid runner.

decent training/racing shoe

All in all, a good training shoe for those looking for lightweight trainers. I'm 5'11", 140 lbs(so I cannot say anything about responsiveness for a heavier runner) but ran 80-90 miles/wk in them for a few months without problems, and I still train in them but rotate with other pairs of shoes. Additionally, but not as important: you will get comments like, "Nice shoes!" frequently if you get the brightly colored V2s. The only negative is that the sock liner "insole" they come with isn't anything special, like with most other shoes. Replacing with a more supportive one is a good idea.

Fast, Forgiving Lightweight Trainer

This is a great lightwight training and race shoe. It feels surprisingly fast. Reduced heel height works great. I use it for all my speedwork and races and find that I have less soreness than with the Brooks T7 raing flats I used to race in. This is a lightweight shoe that would be comfortable for everyday training. Highly recommended!

My new favorite shoe!

Been running in the Wave Rider for years, but the last couple of models weren't making the grade. Felt lost for a while, until I came across the 890v2's. Love the lightweight, 8mm drop ride. Just bought 2 more pairs after going 300 miles in my first.

Great all around shoe

This has become my go to shoe. It has enough cushion for me and I am a big guy 6'5 190. It is still light and responsive enough to feel the road.

Why didn't I buy them long ago

Excellent lightweight shoe with good flex. Good for distance runs.
