Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I am a larger runner (5'8"/205 lbs) so I was a little concerned with the switch to minimalist running. These shoes have greatly aided me in switching my style to the natural forefoot midfoot strike. The longest run I have worn these shoes for so far has been about 4.5 miles and I had no issues. Any concerns with the width have gone away as the shoe did stretch a little bit which has loosened the tightness without the shoe feeling loose. My only wish is that road runner carried the white version because the green is a bit flashy for my tastes.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I bought the Minimus Road 10's about a year ago, and when these came out i was quite excited. They do take some getting used to though. When i first put them on they felt almost too light, as though they would fall apart if i ran too far or to hard in them. However, they are quite durable and offer much more of a barefoot feeling than the minimus road 10. Excellent shoe for the minimalist runner that can't quite do the Vibram 5 fingers. With these shoes you get the best of both worlds with the Vibram bottoms placed on an actual shoe. If you need ankle support though, these are not for you.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

These shoes are lightweight, breathable, and comfortable. Compared to the VFF Bikila, there is more cushioning with mildly decreased road feel, but the last remains thin and has a zero drop. The shoe does a great job of allowing a mid/forefoot strike.

The last is thin and may irritate those with wider feet. Additionally, there is no lateral support; this is a ROAD shoe and even running around corners makes the lack of support noticeable.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I'm a full barefoot runner and have about 3 years of experience doing longer distances. I've started racing triathlons and did my first Ironman using Vibram 5 fingers. Let's just say that I could have used a little less ground feel from the road after 8 hours. I do 90% of my training barefoot, but when I need to go fast on the road after extreme fatigue these shoes allow me to push harder and farther than just the skin on my feet. They do feel narrow when I just walk around in them, but my feet are wider from my running style. Don't judge them until you get a good run in them, they flex well and allow a nice high cadence run. Bonus, they look rad.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

Just picked these up last night and i couldn't wait to take them out for run. Started slow with a 3 mile run to try them out and gotta say they felt great. It felt like a barefoot run in the sense that I couldn't really tell I was wearing shoes except for the small bit of vibram rubber under my foot other than that the shoe lets your foot move and feel like you have nothing on.I wore them without socks and had no issues with rubbing on any part of my foot or toes. As far as fit I say they run half size small just like the description says but I'm kind of an odd size anyways.I'm a 12 1/2 to 13 depending on the shoe. The 12 1/2 felt good except for the inside rubbed my foot and toes to the point I know it would give me blisters. So I ended up going with the 13 because like I mentioned before i could barely tell I was even wearing them.I will have to agree with other reviews in that the toe box is much wider than it appears to be and my toes had no problem splaying while I ran. I also tried on the trail zeros and I have to say the roads felt a lot better in my opinion. As light as the roads feel the trails feel even lighter. They were also very comfortable but my only complaint and I read this in other reviews of this shoe is that the uppers are made of a nylon like material and it doesn't flex as good as the roads upper so even with socks it seemed to rub the top of your foot.Who knows maybe in time it would loosen up because like I said that felt like the only downfall to the trails. So for those of you looking for zero drop shoes both of these are definitely worth a try.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I got these shoes an hour before my 12x400 workout in track and used them to see how they would perform. They were comfortable, promoted a natural footstrike, and felt really fast. Wearing them barefoot felt odd at first but now I'm loving them. They might be a little too cushioned for avid barefooters, but for longer runs and minimalist runners they are perfect. I hope they don't smell like my Vibrams ._.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I'm a 20-year runner, but only about a year in minimalist gear. These shoes are true-to-size, extremely lightweight and have a stretchy toe box that is snug but not tight. I love how it feels.

Great grip and it's a Vibram sole, which I've had excellent results with in both this shoe and other models.

The heel doesn't have a loop to make it easy to put the shoe on, but most shoes do not.

Lacing is unusual (eyelets on one side and a loop arrangement on the other) but it wasn't actually an issue lacing or while running.

I've run on wet pavement with no issue. I don't have any information on durability or how it works in rain (e.g., breathability).

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I use these as my every day runner. I run about 50-60 miles per week mostly in this shoe. I'm 6'2 195 pounds with a near perfect forefoot strike. All my PR's have come in this shoe; from 1/2 marathon to 5k. I was scared at first because of my weight, but my first run in these shoes was my fastest 1/2 marathon in training. This shoe has helped my cadence and strengthened my legs by eliminating the crutch I call stack height. You won't get any help from the shoe, which in my opinion helps the runner rely on better mechanics. It has just enough blown rubber to cushion your strike. I would not recommend this shoe to someone that has a hard time with pronation or heel striking; this shoe will eat you up if you do. Definitely try them, but ease them into your rotation slowly. It feels like your not wearing shoes at all, literally.

I've run all my PR's in these shoes from a 5:09 mile to a 40:14 10K. Even maxed my PT test in these shoes. every mile is more enjoyable and and they breath really well with out socks thanks to the silky liner. Just remember the liner wears out faster from that. My only complaint is they have almost no traction in wet grass, but that's most shoes. I also have a pair of vibrams and i would pick these over them for any distance on any terrain. NB has a winner here.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I've been a triathlete for 13 years, but a heavy heal striker. For 8 years I wore progressively stiffer orthotics to help my plantar fasciitis. Finally got so bad I couldn't even walk without a steroid shot into my foot. First shot lasted 6 months, second, 3 months. Foot doctor said my next move was surgery.

Went to a sports medicine doctor at a university. He told me to get rid of orthotic and exercise my feet. Barefoot running would be the best. Started very very slowly. For longer runs, I wore these Minimus Zero shoes, I got too much chaffing running in the five fingers. It took months to really heal, but slightly over a year after seeing this doctor I ran my third Ironman Triathlon, followed, a month later, by a Marathon, both in this shoe.

The runs were amazing, I was in no pain, no blisters, etc. DON'T RUSH the transition, or you can hurt yourself. I started my training running barefoot. It will take a while for you to get use to using the different muscles in your legs for running, but once you do, long runs are effortless. I still remember my first 15 miler (after not running more than 8) in these shoes, and I was simply in heaven. I feel like this is the way I was meant to run, and that my traditional running shoes have been hurting me for years.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I chose this product because as much as I love FFV they can be hard on the feet, not much cushion. I still run in FFV but I use the NB for longer races and/or routes with rougher roads. You can get away with running on well groomed trails with these, but don't recommend "real" trails. I am not a fan of the shoe laces, so I just replaced them with Yankz, it gives the shoe a more glove type fit. I am only 155lbs so this may not be great for heavier dudes who like cushion; you might want to look into the Altra-Instinct or Newtons-MV2 if you want to stick to 0mm drop.

                    Service and delivery comments:

RRS did a great job with exchanging these out, I exchanged three other shoes before I settled on these. It does takes about 2-3 weeks to complete each exchange but it was worth it.

Bought these after trying the Minimus Trail version and have not been disappointed. Just wish they came in a different color...a bit too flashy for me.

Comments about Mens New Balance Minimus Zero Road Running Shoe:

I have had these for 3 months and worked up from 5k to where I now wear them for anything up to 1/2 marathon. Set new PR in last 10k. Love the "not there" feel of them, but with enough to them to cushion a bit of the road. I would recommend them highly, but they are the endpoint to my transition to minimal, I started with Gel Blur and Speedstar. Would not have been good to go straight from my Kayanos to these. But really, why do the laces have to be a yard long?

Loved these shoes when i first tried them, but after a few runs noticed the toebox is sloped in which makes them very narrow and hurt the baby toe. And i don't have wide feet. Had to return them. If you have even slightly wide feet go for the wide width or go for a shoe with less of a drastic inward slope in the toebox.
