Designed for the serious minimalist runner, the women's New Balance® Minimus Zero Road gets you about as close to the ground as you want to go. With a stunning zero millimeter heel-to-toe drop, these trainers are about as close to barefoot as you can get- but even better. With their ultra-lightweight design - a mere 4.4 ounces! - super breathable uppers, and no-sew, irritation-free technology, your feet will feel like they're running in their birthday suit. 4.4 ounces
I really like these shoes. They are extremely light and comfortable. I run in Vibrams but can still feel the separation between my toes. These have the same feel when running, except my toes have more freedom. I have put these to the test up to 10 miles and have no doubt I can go further. I have been running in NB Minimus 10 Trails for quite sometime and occasionally swap out for my Vibrams, so I didn't need to transition. However, would recommend a transition phase for those used to running with support. Another great feature these shoes have is they can be worn without socks! I only wish they would come out with more colors on RRS website.
Ideal for those tempo runs
I've had these for a few weeks now. They feel great and I love running in them. I did make the mistake not to ease into them. Even though the shoes I was using were lightweight as well, these are much lighter and unlike my other shoes, there is no real heel support.
I want to get used to the different running style these shoes require. It just feels much more efficient. The only problem I experienced were my calves. I think that the different foot-strike takes more effort from certain calf-muscles that might remain unused with a shoe with heel support. So, from now on I will be alternating and hopefully, eventually, I will be able to build those unused muscles.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe!
Comfortable, beautiful, fit my foot perfectly, and are still wearing strong with 500+ miles on them! As soon as you try them on, your feet will embrace the ground yet also get that perfect tiny amount of cushion you secretly desire in a barefoot shoe. I've tried many shoes as I work for Road Runner Sports, and these are my most favorite shoe of all time - I LOVE when I get to bring this shoe out to barefoot-seeking customers, and they pretty much always love these shoes! I run 35+ miles a week and wear these shoes on more than half of my runs - as long as they are on the treadmill (as my knees need a little more cushion on pavement). I highly recommend this shoe if you are looking for a barefoot shoe for gym workouts, bootcamp, or are looking to strengthen your feet, core and legs with barefoot running. If you are new to barefoot walking/running, please NOTE: You'll love this shoe, but take the time to adjust to the barefoot feeling by first walking around in them for short spurts of time, and slowly introducing them to your runs. With that disclaimer said, I hope you love it as much as I do!

not made for all feet
I really wanted to love this shoe, not only because all the reviews were so positive, but also because this shoe looks great! I get compliments when I wear them around town :)
The problem is that for some reason (let me see if I can describe this accurately), the inner seam falls just under the bottom of my inner foot on both sides. It's not that the shoe itself is narrow.... Maybe just the bottom? If you turn the shoe upside down, you will find that the sole is pretty narrow. If you have high arches, maybe this isn't a problem, as the seam will never touch your foot. I have pretty flat feet though, so this bothers me a lot, to the point where I can't really run more than two miles in them.
I have never had this problem with any other New Balance shoe, and even thicker socks don't seem to help that much, since as I run along eventually there just isn't anything under the inside part of my foot any more! Tightening laces also did not work. In short, maybe not good for people whose feet are boxy and rectangular and have no arch! :)
Today I tested out a pair of the new NB 10v2 Trail and those were much, much better.
Just sad I couldn't love these more!

I have been looking for a good running shoe for a long time now and I have finally found it! MUCH better than any nike free that I have tried or any nike period! I have a pair of mizunos that I love but these are by far the best running shoes that I have ever owned. They are different from a traditional running shoe in that you use a different style of running and engage different muscles but they are phenomenal! I hardly had to break them in! I am not sure how long they will last so that is a concern for me. I have only had them for about two months but I LOVE THEM and i will certainly be purchasing another pair. Also, the color is more vivid than the picture shows. Hope this helps!
Love this shoe!
I love these shoes so much I own three pair. For me they are very comfortable. I have slowly worked my way down to more minimalist shoes and these are the best I have found without going all the way to Vibram Five Fingers. My one caveat is you have to enjoy the minimalist feel. If you need more support, this is not the shoe for you. Also, these shoes run wide. I typically wear a 8.5 W or 9 B. In these I can comfortably wear a 8.5 B because the front of the shoe is flared wide.
Love My NB Mini's
I love these. Paid full price for two pair, then found Road Runner Sports and now I have 5 pair! I have narrow feet, they come only in B width which makes it surprising that I can wear them.
The reason I put "feels too narrow" I didn't mean for me.... I meant for pretty much anyone else who doesn't have narrow feet.
What I love about them is ~ no break-in time. I put them on, they fit, I run.
I like these shoes
I really like this shoe. I have been looking to try another pair of minimus shoes besides my inov8's and I think I have found a good pair. They are great for road running and trail running. I haven't ran a race in them yet but I know they will do well. The only reason I gave them 4 stars is because of the seam along the middle of the arch, it hasn't bothered me too much but it is noticeable. Other than that it's a great minimus shoe.
my favorite shoe for runs less then 5mi
one of my favorite shoes. Not the best for over 5 miles or so - thou I have done up to 13 mile runs in them. If you do run long distances in them you may discover a lot of small auxiliary muscles in you foot and lower leg that you may not have known existed.
barring that I love them and they are by far my favorite training and short course shoe.
I love this shoe! I just had a baby and am working on getting into shape. I am also training to start running 5ks and 10ks with my family. These shoes are perfect for that! However, the give your calves an extra workout. I didn't know that when I bought them; I am definitely not complaining, but be prepared to feel the burn!
Best shoes ever
I'm a high-arched forefoot striker and these shoes are the closest to barefoot that I've ever worn. In the gym, they have great traction and are extremely lightweight. I also love to wear them to work and feel like I'm wearing nothing at all. I just got them so I haven't worn them on a trail just yet, but I'm confident they will hold up and give me a very natural hike/run.
Los Angeles, CA
My second purchase of this shoe. I absolutely love them. Will puechse again and again. Short run life but then they become my everyday gym comfort or run around town shoe.
Painful Lace Holes
The sneakers are extremely uncomfortable. The lace holes dig into the top of your foot. Never experienced this before. Sending them back for sure.
