Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: Lightweight, comfortable, everything I look for in a shoe that will let me lift at the gym and run on trails. The vibram tech is amazing, very durable. What's NOT durable however is the rest of the shoe which is paper-thin. I've had mine for only 3-4 months and already there's a hole forming around the smallest-toe area of the shoe. Also, do NOT wear these out on a rainy day. It's porous and will get your feet/socks soaked. Even a little rain will do that. Overall, great shoe and I recommend it for indoor or dry weather outdoor.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: Run ditch trails ( dirt, not overly rocky) and roads. Love these shoes, comfortable, incredibly lightweight, very cool (that is a temperature comment). Water does come in through the sole so would not be good winter shoes, but I'll wear them the rest if the year.

Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: I bought these for racing trails. I had gotten used to running roads with my minimalist shoes, but wanted something for trails and liked the idea of a minimalist shoe instead of my older clunky running shoes. When the path is soft, I love these. They are lightweight and I barely realize they are on my feet. They climb extremely well. I don't mind if it is wet out, in fact, I have raced through many puddles and yes, my socks get wet, but then I simply step into the shower later after the race, still wearing the shoes and wash them off there. I have had no issues with durability or having things enter the shoes. The trails I've been on have been a mix of grass, rocks, sand, mud, water, and mesh netting (which I did not get stuck in, much to my satisfaction...wasn't sure with the Vibram soles if I would get caught, but it wasn't an issue). My only issues have been when the path is harder packed...I feel like my arches take a beating...But overall, very happy I have these...a good introduction to New Balance for me! (Note, I did need to return my first pair out of the box as it was recommended to buy a half size up...but this wasn't necessary for these shoes...)

Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: Floored at the negative comments! LOVE these shoes! I normally wear Vibram FiveFingers but got these 3 months ago and they have quickly become my favorite shoes! I am about to order a new pair now! HIGHLY recommend!
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: I was shocked when I opened the box. The uppers are floppy and the material feels stiff and cheap. They look cheap too. This is not what I expect from new balance for the price. I put them on and the way they tie and the uppers attach to the soles, they push my foot into pronation. They also rub at the achilles even when I stand still because they have a peak rather than a notch. The seams are a bit rough and the material is scratchy. I wouldn't risk going sock free in these. The bottom is a network of bubbles of support rather than a unified cushion. It takes some getting used to but does give good support. Overall, I prefer my five fingers.

Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: I am a trail runner in the desert, this shoe is not ideal for me. The spaces in the shoe sole pick up and hold small stones and sharp objects, which go right into the material underfoot. I'd rather be barefoot than wear this shoe. For road running, it's probably a nice minimal option. Very light weight and comfortable. The welded seams are so smooth.
Pros Cons
Best Uses Comments about Womens New Balance Minimus Zero Trail Running Shoe: Bought the original version of this shoe but the outer seam about took off my little toes - other than that I loved them, so I was looking forward to the corrected model, and these are sooo cool looking. I am an avid 5 fingers fan, so I'm used to free toes, but these shoes were floppy and "tall" feeling (I have low volume feet). I was going to seriously give myself time to get used to them, but when I walk, they sound like I'm walking in gallon milk jugs! The forefoot material wrinkles and puckers, and as the puckers move with your foot the audio is ridiculous and the sensation is annoying as heck. Sorry, NB, after all the anxious anticipation you can have these back.
