I picked these up to replace my Saucony Hurricane 14s, which even though magically good, were too narrow in 2E. I have cut the side out of the left Saucony to make room for my foot.
The 1260s are heavier, klunkier and have a bigger heel than the Sauconys. I've gone on two runs in the 1260s, 10 & 6 miles, and find I prefer the light weight and lower heel of the Sauconys. The left 1260 is still too narrow for my foot, and I would have to cut the side out to eliminate any pressure. I don't like the shoes enough to modify them, so the 1260s are going back.
On the plus side, except for the width issue the 1260s were perfectly comfortable. They are well cushioned. The heel seems cusioned enough for heel strikers. There is lots of padding around the back of the ankle.
On the minus side, the right shoe seemed to stress and tire my right arch. Maybe there isn't the right kind of arch support for me, or maybe I just needed more miles to acclimate my feet to the shoes. I'll never know. Now that I think if it, my right knee bothered me after both runs as well. I don't think this was a cushioning issue, so I'll just chalk it up to the relative heft of the shoe. Here's a nit - the tread has lots of little sipes. These are probably good for rain, but on the trail they pick up lots of little pebbles.

Excellent, comfortable shoe
I always loved New Balance due to comfortable width and good weight/stability balance. I had a pair ot 1260s for a long time and loved them. I am 180 lbs, average arch, and run about 15 mi/wk (50 mi/mon). I admit that I did remove the stock insole and replaced it with a sturdier Polysorb insole to be better arch support but without creating any pressure points...this combination works great. I recently bought the new 1260v2 (why change brands when the old one was working well) and love it. It feels a bit lighter, but more stable than the 1260 (but this may just be the effect of a new shoe vs. the older worn-out feel of my 1260s. Highly recommended.
I have been buying the NB 1200 series since it was first offered, on the whole while some versions were better than others they all provided good stability and cushioning. The 1260V2, however, is a horrible shoe that provides stability at the cost of cushioning. They are closer to a racing flat than a training shoe - very little if any flex. I started buying NB shoes in the early 70's because they were the only company that offered wide sizes (I normally wear a size 9, 3 or 4E). I purchased my 1260V2's in my usual NB size - 9.5, 4E; although the label says 4E they feel like a 2E. Given that I waited a couple of months after buying to run in them and could not return them I just dumped them in the trash.
Downgrade from original 1260
Loved the 1260 and jumped on the chance to get the black 1260v2. Unfortunately it is almost a completely different shoe. Not in good way.
The cushioning is drastically reduced. They are now rock hard. It seems the materials have been downgraded and the technical design over simplified. It is almost as if this shoe is a budget version before the 1260 not its heir. The toe box plastic material is now also rolled over the toes (like the 1080) rather than in front as it was in the original.
Still a nice shoe, but NB messed up this time. It is a completely different shoe than the 1260 which was plush while being supportive and nice to look at. I will be waiting on a re-run of the original 1260's.
NB 1260v2 Review
Purchased these to replace my NB 763's which I have run in for years. After running about 20 miles in the 1260s, my right foot went numb and I ended up with sharp right knee, hip, and lower back pain, something I never experienced with the 763s. I returned the shoes for an exchange thinking the arch support was defective. The second pair corrected that issue, but now, the shoes make my feet feel like they are on fire and are rubbing my soles red. I have tried different lacings, socks, running conditions, and all no no avail. I have never experienced this under any conditions before. I gave it a shot. Sticking with NB, but the 1260s are not the shoe for me.
This is a very good shoe. The low drop from heel to toe makes it very comfortable. Some of the other NB shoes that I have used in the past wore out relatively fast. Not this one! Good durability! I have been running for 29 years and usually put in 25-30 miles per week on pavement. These shoes also have good support and look good too. Made in the U.S.A. is also a big plus. I am very pleased with this shoe.
I have ran in NB for many years. I ran in the 1260 when it first came out. Really liked that shoe. I wear a 10 1/2 D width and it fit very well. The 1260v2 fits too snug in the 10 1/2 D. NB recommends 1/2 size up in fit. I followed this advice on my second pair of 1260v2s and the fit is perfect. Very comfortable. Glad I didn't change shoes. Definitely recomment this shoe. It is very easy to run in and fits very well in the right size!
Change is Difficult
After years and years of running on the NB763, I could no longer get them in my size, even from RRS, so I was forced into a new shoe. While the 1620 isn't a one-for-one replacement, I am quite pleased with how they fit, feel, and wear after my first dozen runs. I was extremely pleased with how they felt on the "out-of-box" first workout. I recommend a two-pair approach for everyday running.
I am a 240 lbs. marathon runner and these shoes are great. It always seems like I have to give up something to get a running shoe suitable for my size, but this one seems to have it all. I've only used them for a few weeks so we will see how they continue to perform as they get some miles on them. I would recommend these shoes to everyone.

...BETTER THAN 993's
I purchased these to replace my endangered 993's, which I loved.
My fastest 10K came wearing these 1260v2's and I couldn't be happier. They're great as a training shoe or a racing shoe if you're a recreational runner. They're lightweight, comfortable and fast. Get some.
I run an average of 15 to 20 miles a week on the neighborhood streets. Since I was poperly outfited with this shoe and it's predecessor versions at Roadrunner, I have avoided pain in my knees and hips that I experienced before. Great shoe, and great service.

Perfect Fit Shoes
I got these shoes for marathon training and they are exactly what I wanted. They are light weight, durable, fashionable and fit perfect. I Highly recommend these shoes to anyone looking for a great running shoe.
Ray - Marathon Runner
Las Vegas, NV
I am a heavy runner 222 lbs that runs marathons. I would recommend these shoes for lighter runners, but not for heavy runners. Lacks support and cushioning, especially in the heals. On a postive note this is a very light shoe.
Size Up Carefully
I've been running regularly for nearly 42 years. Have always sized up a half size to 8.5 D, which I did with this shoe. First time ever I couldn't get my foot into a running shoe because it was so snug. I bought the 9 EE to replace these and the fit was PERFECT.
Port Washington, NY
Best 1260 ever
Best 1260 ever...used to feel clunky, but now they feel. Light and fast..using them for NYC Marathon....switched from Kayano 18's..Both are great shoes but the 1260's are smoother for my style of running
Have gone through several pairs
I have run the Chicago Marathon and a marathon in Chile in 1260s. In addition, several half marathons and shorter distances in these shoes. Hopefully, New Balance does not discontinue the 1260v2 too soon.
Tried these as a replacement for Saucony Hurricanes. Big mistake. The footpad is very thin and not very smooth at all. I feel the construction of the shoe in the bottom of my feet, like my socks are bunched - and they aren't.
La Quinta, CA
All around awesome!
Currently training for my third marathon. This is by far the most comfortable shoe that I have used for long distance training. Seems much lighter to me than other stability sneakers that I have used.
Love NB quality
I have always had the best quality shoe from NB. I have always run in NB and will always tell my friends. Also the delivery time from RR is unbelievably fast. Prices are great also.
North Augusta, SC
They are great - will buy again!
Have worn lots of NB - 30+ yrs. worth - these are the best ones for a long time. More room above your toes for comfort than the 1260's
The shoe is over rated.
The shoe is cut to low around the ankle, the tongue is too narrow and they feel like a stone is in the arch when you walk.
So far so good
Good shoes other than in the dog days of summer they become saturated with sweat.
Kansas City, MO
So Far great Shoe!
Like these, but not as much as my 1226's. Wish they had the bubble laces.
Less durable more flimsy
run daily. these shoes barely last 90 days and soles peel off and melt away.
I would buy this product again
Overall very satisfied with the shoe. I wouldn't buy a different one
color isn't everythng
found out i had high arches and the sneaker solved the issue
old bridge nj
Good value for my 13 4X foot!
