I have run in Mizuno Wave Riders for years but the last two updated versions have not worked for me. (I loved my 15's!!) After jumping from brand to brand, I thought I'd try these after reading other reviews. I'm 5'5"/105lbs, have high arches, no chronic pains or injuries, and run 30 to 45 miles a week. I wanted a soft (not mushy!) cushioned shoe for long runs. I first wore these on a 7 mi, concrete/packed dirt run the day after a 16-miler (in different shoes that consistently leave an inch-long blood blister on the ball of my right foot). Even with sore, tired feet and tired knees from the previous run, I noticed the difference with these NB. My foot strike was soft - no slapping like with other shoes and no additional rubbing or pressure on my already sore feet. Also, my push-off felt natural, not like it was being 'guided' by the shoe.
The edge of the heel fit tighter than any other shoes that I have tried but the padding on the cuff is soft so it wasn't uncomfortable, just noticeable. The toe box was roomy enough for me - I have history with losing nails so I was glad not to notice the shoe hitting my toes.
I will try them with recovered feet before making a final decision but I was impressed on the first run.
All The Way To Reno
Best running shoe purchase to date
Always been an Asics fan until I started getting the biggest, most uncomfortable blisters in places I had never had blisters before. I needed a new running shoe but didn't have a clue what to get. I went to my local New Balance store as they had all the right equipment to get me measured. After an hour chatting with the sales man (who himself is a top runner in SA - not like other sports shops who employ people that don't take part in sports), I walked out with this shoe. I was very nervous. It was not a cheap purchase and there was no guarantee it would be any better than my Asics. After a week, I ran my first half marathon in these shoes. Not one blister. I was over the moon. A week ago, my shoes were wet so I wore my other running shoes (Nike) and got a blister. I have now thrown my Nikes and Asics out and am purchasing another pair of these as a back up. They are the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn.

I bought these shoes after a month of just getting back into the gym and running. I had some cheap $30 shoes and was having horrible pains in my legs so I decided to actually spend the money and get a good pair of shoes. I did go by the recommendation and ordered a 1/2 size larger and I'm glad I did. I wasn't disappointed. I used these 1-5 days a week, running 1-4.5 miles at a time for 6 months. They are just starting to wear out and it's time for a new pair. Going with a different brand at a recommendation from a friend, but I would definitely consider going back to New Balance, just want to try something different out.
Learning To Be A Runner
NB 1080V3 Running Shoes
I own 5 pairs of these shoes. The 2A width is perfect. I order the shoes one full size up from my "normal" shoes. I ran 42 miles in a pair on Sunday...beautiful. I ran on pavement and off pavement with them. They are slippery if running on concrete with stones imbedded in it, but otherwise they are good. RR only had 3 more pairs in my size when I bought these so I may have to get back and get 'em pretty quickly!
Light & cushioned!
I had been wearing New Balance 763 for running and they are unavailable now, so I was looking for a replacement. I am a low mileage, middle of the pack, female runner. I run mostly on roads. I have flat feet and a little pronation with my left foot. I like somewhat supportive shoes. I trained for and ran a half marathon in the NB 1080v3s. They are very lightweight, comfortable right out of the box and supportive. Love them!

I have always LOVED New Balance and was never disappointed. These shoes so far do not make my feet happy. I use my shoes for running and occasional walking. I seem to be getting blisters in places I have never had a blister before. They are great in controlling my extreme under pronating and they are a really cool looking shoe. However, if I can't break them in the next couple of weeks I will be sending them back.
This is the shoe I've been searching for
I run every other day and participate in races two or three times a year at 1/2 marathon distances. I tried four other shoes, in wide width sizes, before I found these. The other shoes caused so many toe problems because of crowding, I thought I would have to give up running and power walking. These shoes restored my love of the sport. The only drawback is for longer distances there just isn't enough cushioning. Otherwise, perfect!!
Silly for Power Walking
Great, Neutral Plus running shoe!
I love this shoe. This is the second pair I purchased for myself in the last 3 years. The first pair was every bit as great, comfortable, and cushiony. This shoe is very lightweight relative to other Neutral plus shoes which offer a lot of cushion (i.e. Asics Kinsei 5) which makes this shoe a much better shoe to run in. I run 2-3 times per week, between 2 miles and 5 miles per run. Glad I got another pair of these!
My new favorite!
This was my first NB purchase. I had been a loyal Nike customer, but hate it when they "upgrade" a model I love. Maybe it is my long narrow foot that is difficult to fit. Like the pink/lime colour and received many compliments. I ordered up a whole size - wear 8.5M in street shoes, got 9.5M and it feels perfect and very comfortable. Lightweight, but adequate cushion for long runs. I will definitely order another pair soon and hope when NB upgrades this model they do not make any drastic changes!!
Comfortable and light!
I like a highly cushioned shoe for my runs - I do about 20-25 miles a week. I tried these because they were listed as nuetral plus but hte cushioning was nothign compariued to the Sauconys or Asics. They run big too so i had to drop down a half a size from what I normally wear in ASics & Saucony. Thank goodness for RRS return policy - ot os amazing to b e able to try shoes and return them if you don't like them.
I had been using 1080v2, which I didn't love nor did I hate. I was wearing them with orthotics and I was having plantar issues. I was due for a new pair of shoes, so I just went with the v3 because I thought it was worth a try. I love these shoes. I have been wearing them without inserts and my feet feel better than they have in a long time! The shoe is light and airy. I wasn't too crazy about the colors, but the blue/pink looks much nicer in person than online. My feet are so happy!

Not for me!
Training for a marathon, got tired of my asics only lasting 2 months b4 my feet started hurting, sales rep thought these would be best for me....not so much. My legs ached after the 1st run and after the 2nd I had hurt my knee....no support and way too big, my foot and ankle had no support at all. I wear a neutral asics...I should have known better

So Far So Good!
I sent back a pair that felt like they weren't enough shoe and chose these because they are a RRS fave. These seem like just enough cushion without being too heavy. My sore hip is gone because of running on shoes too broken down. I have very flat feet but run neutral. I run 25-30 mi. a week and so far, these are great! Glad I took the advice of others.

I made the switch!
I switched to this shoe after experiencing knee problems with my beloved Vomeros. I average 25 miles a week off season. Knee issue has improved and I credit the shoe switch. The fit is snug and supportive. My first pair came unglued around the 90 day mark. Roadrunners took them back and I got a replacement pair. So far, so good!
Like others who have reviewed this shoe, I also have plantar fasciitis. With these shoes I was able to continue my training and run a marathon in my goal time. During training, I ran 30 to 40+ miles a week, with several 20+ training runs. Although they didn't have the soft cushion like other shoes I have worn, they had enough. These shoes also held up well!! Very pleased!!
I use this as a training shoe. I am a heavy runner, by running standards, and this shoe provides excellent cushioning. In other brands that I have tried my feet and knee bother me after a few months. I also like the wider toe box and lighter weight. I would recommend this to anyone needing a well cushioned shoe.
Retired and loving it
best shoes I've found in a very long time! I have Fibromyalgia and have fought with plantar fasciitis for years now. these shoes have great support and work very well with my orthotics. They also have the perfect toe box. I am very pleased!
Feels wider/bigger than v2
I've got 2 pair of 1080v2 and love them... use them for training & running half and full marathons. In the v2, I a women's 9 wide. Ordered the v3 and like them so far, but they run bigger and wider than the previous version. Otherwise nice cushioning, lightweight, well ventilated.
I've run several marathons in this shoe and never got a blister. I have wider feet and it fits great . Would recommend it to someone with a wider foot that puts in the miles. It lasts and is comfortable!

First pair of New Balance and pleased
I run about one marathon a month and Need good cushioned running shoes. My first time trying out New Balance. They look great, are very light but I dont feel that are as cushy as my other running shoes!
I had the previous model which was offered in orange. I would have loved to get orange again since our university's team color is orange, but it is a very comfortable, cushioned shoe.
The soles of these shoes wore out very quickly. I have the 2012 pair and the soles of those shoes look a lot better than the 2013. I won't buy these again.

Awesome Shoe!!!! Too bad V4 is not this
Tooooooo bad this shoe has been replaced by version 4! This shoe is awesome and might be my best shoe yet!!
New Balance, if you are listening, bring this shoe back as V5!!
Erinn the beast!

I really liked the 1064 but did not try the 1080 updates yet, but I am very happy I did. This is a really cushioned shoe that feels great. I like, don't love, the colors but it is so comfortable I don't care! Thanks!
Fort Myers, FL
I was experiencing a lot of plantar fasciitis, and was about to give up running. i have had these for about a month and I couldn't be happier.
My 3rd PAIR!
Really great shoe. I use it for standing 10-12 hours a day, I use it for my workouts and for walking.
I am on my feet 12 plus hours a day on concrete. I.go home and am still comfortable with these shoes.on.
Love update. perfect fit perfect perform
favorite shoe of all time. Love fit, performance and color.
felt good from first step on.
I had the version 2 and loved them. These are truly comfy and very cushion'y.
This shoe has a snug, comfortable fit with good arch support. I am a "neutral plus" runner. I credit the shoe for helping with my form, thus less fatigue on my legs and a previous plantar fasciitis has not returned. My only complaint is the shoe comes unglued, as I am on my 3rd pair. The people at Roadrunners are amazing at customer service! They REALLY care about the you and it shows. The delivery time is (as they say) in WARPSPEED !
I would not shop anywhere else!
