Love this shoe. I'm an older (hate to say it...65) runner (about 160 lbs) who does about 30 miles a week at about an 7.5 MPH pace. After 3 knee scopings (all cartilage related) I was told not to run (no chance!)...these shoes have been terrific. They offer good cushioning and a semi-soft ride. They allowed me to transition from a heel to a mid-foot striker (these have a 7 mm drop). I have absolutely no knee pain. Because of my knee issues, I've been looking for shoes that were lightweight yet offered good cushioning. The 890v3 is the best I've tried (Brooks Launch, Asics Gel Neo 33, Saucony Cortana 2 - may they rest in peace). If you're a neutral runner looking for a well cushioned, lightweight shoe...this is it!

The sign of a great shoe is one you can lace up and forget they are there. The 890v3 is just an all around great shoe. Light enough for speedwork yet it has enough cushioning for long distance. I have been looking for a light weight trainer that doesn't beat up my feet for a long time now and these fit the bill quite nicely. I use them on pavement and on dirt trails with no issues. I'm going to but 2 more pairs before they chnage them!

I run 40 miles + a week and these are the perfect shoes for me and I was worried about the upgrade as I had three of the version 2's. I am very pleased with the upgrade, it is even better than the V2's as the toe box is a better fit for me. I find I have just the right amount of forefoot cushioning and I will be buying more of them in the future.

I got this shoes after reading al the hype. My intentions were to use them as a tempo shoe and for longer runs, however after an 8 miler i noticed that my knees and quads were beat up. I gave them the benefit of doubt and tried them on a moderate 5 miler with some fartlek- more sore legs. this shoes although light and comfortable lack enough cushioning and protection for long distance training. i weight 130 pounds and have no major issues with injuries, but I feel that new balance needs to redesign this shoe with more forefoot cushioning otherwise i recommend them for walking around

Run 40+ miles a week in 890(v2). Really like the V3 adjustment to the tongue to decrease the thickness and the mild adjustment to the toe box width. Could still come in a little on the toe box, but nothing significant. Light enough for 5-10Ks, supportive enough for marathons.

Looking for a shoe to replace my beloved Asics Neo33's and tried these on a Thursday Adventure Run, I was immediately hooked. There is plenty of wiggle room in the toe box and the ride is low and soft but not TOO soft. Do yourself a favor and try them on.
