Comments about Mens New Balance 1210 Trail Running Shoe:

I wanted a trail running shoe as I'm getting more into that here in Colorado. It seems very durable, rugged and lightweight.

I really wanted to like the Leadville had some of the common problems others have mentioned. The heel is too wide and using the rear lacing option was problematic given there is insufficient length in the tongue of the shoe. Seems weird that there isn't another 1/2 inch of tongue length. I have narrow feet and these simple don't come in a narrow width. It would be OK if not for the huge heel. I also thought there was a motion control component even though it's advertised as neutral. As a neutral runner I struggled with some knee and hip pain in just a couple of runs. It's also very much of a bowling shoe color in gray...recommend getting it in blue as the gray shoe looks worse in person than it does on the web. If you have a wide foot and pronate slightly the Leadville is your shoe. Otherwise, steer clear.

I'm exchanging for the 1080 in a narrow. It, and its predecessors have been my tried and proven shoe for years, comfortable as slippers. I'm thankful for RRS's great service and ability to exchange, makes the VIP program well worth it.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1210 Trail Running Shoe:

I am an Ultrarunner currently training for a couple of 100s this summer. I bought this shoe because of all the hype that it was designed for ultra runners. I bought my first pair in my normal size and they were too big. I had to exchange them for a half size smaller. I think it may have to do with the stretch of the upper. The shoes worked very well in cushioning. I think they would feel great in the later stages of a 100. I found two problems that I do not like about the shoe. First, the upper is very loose and I would even go as far as to say sloppy. While running technical trails, the shoe moves all around. Secondly, the top of the tongue where you tie the laces has no padding. While going downhill you can feel the laces digging into the top of your foot. I believe they would be good in races that are not very hilly or technical that are run on dirt roads, such as the Vermont 100, only because of the cushioning. I have to say, I was disappointed in this shoe. Was hoping for better.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1210 Trail Running Shoe:

This is my new favorite trail shoe! I really like how cushioned they feel on the trails and they are extremely light. Another review mentioned a short tounge but I did not find this to be an issue for me so I think that it may not be a problem for everyone. Overall this is a wonderful shoe that I will be recommending to my entire trail running group.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1210 Trail Running Shoe:

Wore shoes on a short 5 mile run and was impressed. So I wore them on a 20 miler the next day on easy terrain. My right shoe came unstiched in that run and had to go exchange them. For a shoe built for ultras you would have to carry 4 pairs to make through leadville. I'll stick with my hokas.

Comments about Mens New Balance 1210 Trail Running Shoe:

This is a wonderful shoe, except the tongue is too short! The result is a lot of pressure on the top of the foot. After technical trail running in them the laces had slid directly on top of the foot. I bought the shoes for ultra running and can't see running more than 10miles without having foot pain or hot spots on the top of the foot.

The tongue aside, the shoe is well cushioned but not sloppy and offers a very smooth ride. I've run the shoe on snow packed technical trails and have been impressed with the traction and comfort of the shoe. For the shoes size it is quite responsive, flexible, and nimble.
