An earlier review has disappeared, so will rewrite. I have run three 8 mile runs on the past three Sundays in the Hi-Rez on paved roads. I am a mid-front striker in minimalist shoes. I have the NB trail minimus and the 110 which are slightly heavier and have vibram soles. The indvidual pods on the front are wearing fast. The material that joins the sole and the body of the shoe is spliting/tearing around the big toe on both shoes. I am glad to see I am not alone in having problems with this shoe. It is lighter but will destruct shortly

Good shoe...true to the Minimus name. I have owned other Minimus shoes and this one feels the most like I am running barefoot. The only problem I have experienced is walking on any wet surface (No puddles and when it is not raining). The water seeps into the shoe like it is none existent and will soak your entire foot.

I got this shoe to test out for my barefoot / minimalist running group. I got the size 11 first because that's what I wear. However there was to much fabric on the top of the shoe and the heel was lose. I picked up a size 10.5 and they felt a little better but the mid foot was way to narrow. There was not soul under my arch at all. I took them for a 3 mile test run and it felt good. By the end of the run i could feel the shoe getting a bit lose in the heel though. I'm a mid/ forefoot striker and after 3 miles the pods showed more wear that i would like. I then took them out for a 10 mile run and after mile 7 i could feel every little pod under my foot. There was a lot of wear showing on the pods. I think this shoe would be a good 5k race day shoe but not for training. I'm guessing it will last around 100 miles or so. With a price tag over 100$ it's to much for how long the shoe will last.

Had water seeped thru the shoes, had all my socks wet, the shoe was worn out after 2 days of workout.

I bought this shoe after having some concerns about durability. The pods looked like a good idea but could they really hold up over time? The answer I learned about 60 miles later was no, they cannot. I have a mid foot strike with a little pronation and those two were apparently enough to wear down two pods to the cloth on the outside. I've had Hattoris that lasted 500+ miles and Vibrams that are still going strong after almost two years. Maybe when New balance let's Vibram handle the pods I'll buy them again... Until then, I'll be rocking the Road Minimus.

The shoe has an amazing feel, as close as you can get to actually runiing barefoot.

Sadly, the durabilty of the pods on the sole is not very good.

After a grand total of 5 miles, there is substantial wear showing. That's a FAIL on New Balance!

I'm been looking forward to trying the New Balance Minimus Hi Rez for quite some time now. I was so giddy before the first run I took in them, and they lived up to the hype. The sensation I felt during the first run was unlike anything I had ever felt- to feel so close to the ground and so natural was a great feeling, and I actually felt like my running stride was changing (for the better). I was nervous that the comfort level wouldn't be there since they are so minimal, but the shoe was still comfortable and a new favorite of mine.
