Ultra-comfy: Best barefoot-mimicking tennis shoe on market due to revolutionary/unparalleled sole design: each raised hexagon pod is unattached to any other pod, basically allowing all spaces in between pods to open up into gaps for ultimate in flexibility. Barefoot provides the most stability compared to any shoe, so those who say Hi-Rez doesn't feel stable have very poor body awareness with feet that have been imprisoned in shoes with built-in arch supports/heels and cushion, all of which remove feet with all its sensory nerves farther away from ground contact, thus sensory nerves impeded from sending maximal ground sensory info to brain for optimal balance. New Balance informed me the minimal arch support Hi-Rez has is via shorter-depth hexagon pods in foot arch area, which I wish this was not so (wish it truly had zero arch), per scientific research trial (google "Shing-Jye Chen Effects of Arch Support on Changes in Arch Height"), proving arch supports prevent arch from being able to go through its full range of motion and flatten completely, which it needs to do in order to distribute weight properly, resulting in body's compensating by rotated heel inward, which causes greater internal forces, changes in orientation of boney structures, increased risk of tibial & femoral stress fractures, and eventual bone-on-bone contact. As a corrective exercise specialist, I find this extremely relevant to protecting joints & flexibility, especially as we age.

Looking for minimal w/o going barefoot
If you're looking for the minimal of the minimal, but want some small base cushioning above that of wearing Vibram Five Fingers, this might work for you. Depends on what you want for that cushioning. They give me the cushion I'm looking for, but I'm one who doesn't want very much cushion at all. I run 10k distances and am experienced with minimal shoes (e.g., the Vibrams) but wanted just a touch more absorption. Road feel is all there (you will feel every texture in the road), my feet aren't tough enough to run in gravel in these things. I will use these for well paved roads for longer distance, though will use my Vibrams for treadmill or shorter (5k or less) distance. Certainly a lot less cushioning than Newton MV2, which have even less cushioning than Nike Frees (3.0). Definitely a wide toe box, which you may or may not want. Originally bought to my exact size, was too big and sized half a size down.

Great Shoe! I love to be in flip flops or flats, with minimal shoes, so these are awesome for me!! And I disklike wearing tennis shoes. I bought these for a mud run, the traction was amazing!! Everyone else was slipping but me!! And they felt great during our off road run!!! I have very small but wide feet, they felt little narrow for the support but they still worked great and felt good, my hudband said the support looked fine for my width, and they are comfy . They alsp wash great!!! even after the mud run, they still look brand new. I do recommend them!

not crazy about these.
I own many pairs of New Balance Minimus in different styles. They are the only kind of shoe I wear other than my Five Fingers. I kept these because they are very comfortable. I tried them on a walk and my foot slid around really bad with socks. I can`t wear with no socks because there are seams that my toenails catch on.So I can not wear this style for running or walking. I do like them for everyday around the house and weight training at the gym. These really lack stability.
LOVE THESE SHOES!
Bought these because I wanted to try something new. I wear a size 8 and usually buy 8.5 in my running shoes. When I got these the 8.5 gave me my first black toe :( So I returned them for a 9 and LOVE them. I have done 3 really good (long fast) runs and it feels like I am running on carpet with socks. They are so light. Suggest these shoes to anyone looking to go more natural but not ready to run without shoes.
