Best Uses The 1240v3 was a fantastic stability shoe. New Balance added too much cushion and lost too much stability to make the v4 a fitting sucessor. A runner for 36 years, my husband incurred unaccustomed-to pain almost immediately in the v4. He has probably purchased 4 or 5 pairs of the v3, so he was hugely disappointed.
I tried these shoes as the result of a recommendation that the extra cushioning would provide relief from a heal spur...I certainly noticed the extra cushion....I am on my third pair and have 3 more in reserve....
Pros
Cons Best Uses I've always liked the NB 1260 line. It's the only shoe I'll wear.

It has been years since I wore a New Balance shoe. In the past, they did not give me the support and feel I was seeking. With this model of shoe it all changed. The shoe is comfortable, stable and supports my foot. I like the shoe and I weigh just under 200 lbs. It is a great shoe.

I use my new shoes in everyday walking and some jogging. I use the 2E extra wide size to fit my foot even when I develop gout from time to time. These are extra stability shoes which help my over pro-nation. Shoes are good for a year until the virbrant vitality leaves all quality shoes. I have no problems with these shoes and this is my 4th pair in the 1260 line.Vibrant spring

Pros
Cons Best Uses 6' tall, 195 lbs. Use for running 15 miles a week. Great comfort & fit.
I was excited about this shoe because I liked the way it looked and had very good success with the 1260v3. I had three pairs of that shoe, in fact. But, after just about a month and a half of being my primary running shoe, these things are completely falling apart. I run anywhere from twenty to thirty miles a week and the previous version (v3) seemed to hold up quite well. I got 300+ miles out of each pair and am still able to use them to just kick around the house or for other various light duties. That's not the case with the v4. After just over 160 miles, these are headed to the trash bin. I guess it's time to switch back over to Asics.

Great Fit
Pros
Cons Best Uses I'm 68 and weigh 172 on a 5'5" frame, flat narrow feet and often painful knees. 1260v4 is the only shoe I have found that allows me to run without knee and leg pain.
Pros
Cons Best Uses I bought a pair of these and Gel Keyanos at the same time. I really like both but I'm more impressed with the New Balance. New Balance has always been high quality, but they tended to be heavy and maybe a little clunky. These shoes felt great right out of the box. I run about 15-20 miles/week (and walk about another 20-24). Very comfortable, cushiony, and stable. I'm 6'2" and about 185. My sub 20 5Ks and sub 40 10Ks are distant memories. So the stability and stability plus shoes are my choice today. This New balance model is top flight.
Pros Cons Best Uses
I have hard to fit feet, the 2EE is about right. Shoe has some stability, but could use a little more in the arch. I was wearing the 860(?) which you can only get at NB stores.
Pros
Cons Best Uses A while back I ordered NB1260V3s and had to return them because the toe box pinched my toes. Pros

My husband loves this shoe. He works out at the gym and runs 3-5 miles 3 or 4 times a week. This shoe has great cushioning and support, yet is light weight. He has nothing but praise for the fit.

I train for triathlons 10 months/year no less than 3 days/week running. These shoes are an improvement over the prior model with more forefoot cushioning. The weight is not the lowest but for the amount of stability and cushioning I am happy with the trade off. The only gripe I have is the toe box seems overly wide compared to prior model.
Pros
Cons Best Uses I'm a middle-aged runner, 220 lbs, who runs on asphalt, so it was important to protect my knees & ankles. These feel light and offer good cushioning. My feet feel the difference. Always had good experience with New Balance. Recommended!

Use for jogging, am 200 pounds and find this shoe very comfortable this is my fourth pair have all three colors very happy with shoe.
Pros
Cons Best Uses I log about 16-20 miles a week mostly on asphalt, and these shoes are great!! THey are a wonderful upgrade from the previous version. The cushioning gives a smoother transition than the v3 and the upper has a soft and snug fit! WOuld purchase again!

The best shoe for me in the last 3 years or so... The new 1260 V4 has nearly the same roominess as my 1260 V2, all of the lateral support and stability of my 1260 V3 and improved front end performance superior to both previous 1260 Vs. I think it the best Stability+ running shoe I've ever owned. Liked it from the very start and just order another pair in a different color combination.
Pros
Cons
Best Uses This is a very nice upgrade to the V3. The shoe fits my foot very nicely. I have a foot that is more on the narrow side, if you have a foot that is a little wider I would recommend going to a wider size than the standard D. The cushioning and stability are top notch and the shoe has a very nice look to it. Pros

First time trying any NB for my running. took out of the box and did one of the most comfortable runs of my life. I was running on the wave prophecy 3 and these shoes blow them out of the water. They are far from any barefoot style of running shoe, give great support, and I can not believe how comfortable they are for long miles. Will buy again.
Wider and more comfortable than the v3, the shoes were great out of the box. Forward sole lacks the flexibility of the v3, which may be of concern. Also seems to be made from a simpler more inexpensive process and seems to lack the craftsmanship of the v3.
