We all work at jobs where we stand all day long and these are perfect. They have a great arch & great support. This year I purchased two colors so I can alternate everyday.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Walking and running.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I've been running in the 1260 model for 4 years now. I'm on my third pair of the v4 and I still love them. The v4 has the wide toe box I need as well as space in the instep to enable me to wear my orthotic (3/4 length PowerStep) AND the original insole. It is a stability shoe that isn't too heavy and the cushioning is just right for me, not too soft, just right. I average 30-40 miles per week with some weeks as high as 50 miles during marathon training. I trade out my shoes at about 400 miles, but these shoes have plenty of life left after that for everyday wear.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I ordered these shoes as I have been running in the 1260 v3's at the recommendation of a running store employee. These were a little more cushioned, and felt great when I first put them on. I have custom inserts, and they fit in the shoe perfectly. I had no problems breaking them in and they have been my primary running shoe for my half-marathon training. The fit is right-on.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Great cushioning. Knees much happier!
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I have to order 2A width running shoes and the sales person that helped me thought this New Balance shoe would work. When it arrived, I couldn't believe the toe box was huge. My foot slipped all over in it. I'm surprised it was labeled a 2A.

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I have orthotic devices from my podiatrist. These shoes were the best fit for them. Plenty wide enough and comfortable for my feet.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Great fit and cushioning for my 20 plus miles a week on road and treadmill. These replaced my prior 1260's and these have a better fit in the toe box. Pros

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I've used NB for marathon training and racing. I've never had a blister or sore toe and they've been through miles and different socks. I like trying out other shoes but always come back to NB for long term comfort and reliability. I have high arches and wide feet, these come in a wide so I don't have to go up half size. Definitely worth the money, I will always keep one pair in rotation.

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Have used this at 1/2 marathon but would use for marathon. Love New Balance shoes and the way you can feel your running but still cushioned . Feel nice and lightweight, hold feet well in shoe
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I run outside about 4 miles. I have bunionns and have tried lots of different shoes and these seem to be a good fit.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: New Balance is always a good choice. This shoe has a wide toe box so really not necessary to order in a wider width.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Excellent cushion & wide front

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: This shoe is the perfect solution for people like me who are looking for a good blend of features. This shoe has just the right amount of pronation control to provide stability, but you don't notice it like you do in some other stability shoes. The cushioning is just right - not too firm, not too squishy. The toe box is roomy, but the heel cup is fitted just right. The heel-to-toe drop is also pretty moderate (8mm), so it's perfect for someone like me that does more walking than running. The shoes are breathable, but not so much that my feet get cold easily now that the morning temps are at 40 degrees. I only needed one session to break them in. They're also reasonably lightweight for a stability shoe (some are HEAVY!).

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I ordered this specific model to replace my older NB 806 All Terrain shoes. They are extremely comfortable but not built for cold or wet weather. Although they don't meet my need for winter wear I plan to keep them to replace my last pair of NB everyday shoes that are starting to lose their cushioning. I like the bright colors but honestly... I wouldn't care what color they were as long as I get the NB fit and comfort.
Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: So I had 1260V2 that I bought on sale last winter and have been wearing those, then I needed new shoes and purchased the V4--LOVE THEM LOVE THEM. A wider toe box, and even though I didn't need it, they feel roomier. I didn't care about the colors, but they are awesome too and don't show dirt when I'm in the rain (or the fact they just aerated the neighborhood and the stuff is all over the roads and sidewalks). The laces stay tied thru and thru. There was NO breaking..took them out for 7 miles right off the bat and no regrets. I haven't need the orthotics yet since they are new;, but the old version fit fine when I needed to insert. Looking to buy another pair just incase they sell out!

Best Uses Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Saucony Hurricanes and Asics Gel Kayanos have been my go-to running shoes in the past. I'm a 120 pound woman in my fifties. I like a shoe with cushioned stability. I've been injured in the past which was caused by over-pronation. The 1260 v4 was written up in Runners World, so I decided to try them. On my first run in them I had to stop and relace as the toe box was rubbing on the tops of my big toes. They were bleeding after 5k. For subsequent runs I tried different lacing patterns and 3 different thicknesses of socks. No go. The other problem I had was major heel slippage.I didn't notice it as much when I ran as I did when I walked. They also made a squeaking noise each time my foot hit the ground. I gave them 4 stars because they are a great shoe and am sure they would work for you if they fit. They have a very cushioned ride, which is why I tried everything to make them work. But since they didn't, the awesome people at Roadrunner set me up with a pair of Brooks Transcends. Love the 90-day trial!

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: When lifting this shoe out of the box, I was a little disappointed because I immediately noticed it was heavier than the previous model. I was not expecting this, but I guess I should have checked out the shoe weight before ordering. At any rate, the shoe still provides top tier support without bulk which is what I need to stay injury-free with my flat feet, age, and mileage. I have run in them for about 2 weeks and love them, just like their predecessors. My kids say they look cool. The only reason they get 4 instead of 5 stars is the weight gain in the update. If you like that the 1260v3 was a little lighter, you may want to stick with that and save a little cash.

Best Uses Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: I have a slightly wide forefoot and am a mild overpronator. I have been running since 1975 and used to do half-marathons; current milage is pretty low, but I still need the right shoe for injury prevention and comfort. Previous versions of the NB1260 were a little skimpy for me and not well-cushioned, so I stuck with my older Saucony Hurricanes. If the (now defunct) final version of the Brooks Trance had been available in widths, that shoe would have been perfect, but alas, the 6.5 was too snug in the toe box and the 7 was a little long. Gel Kayano 20, my current main running shoe, is a very good shoe and the 6.5 W fits me perfectly, but I prefer a slightly more cushioned feel than that shoe provides. This NB 1260v4 has the slightly more cushioned feel that I like and the toe box in the 6.5 wide width is perfect, but my heel slips in this shoe. I have tried multiple patterns of lacing to try and minimize this effect because I want to love these shoes. Also, the shoe seems to lack lateral stability. I wouldn't dare to seriously run in them, not with my 60-year old knees; cannot risk injury. Maybe this shoe should be moved into the cushioned category, not stability. The 1260 v4 would be fine for basic walks with our big dog and for dog play, but the heel-slippage is a problem. Many women need wide toe boxes and narrow heels. Sometimes the manufacturers understand this and sometimes they don't; this time NB did not. For someone whom this shoe fits, it is a great shoe. Pros

Comments about Womens New Balance 1260v4 Running Shoe: Much better than the last version. I have been using this shoe for years and was hoping they would come back with the shoe i have grown to love and NB got it right again. great cushion and comfort. i run 7 days a week and the V4 feels so much better on my feet than the last one. Light enough, yet not flimsy. great arch support. I JUST LOVE THIS SHOE!!
