I have worn this shoe for about ten years, now and love it. I actually have worn the mens' 851, so to the lady that is hesitant to try the men's shoe, I would say to give it a try perhaps in a full size smaller than the women's shoe. It may work for you. I really don't think you'll be sorry!!

I overpronate, but this shoe has kept me pain free. I've worn out at least a dozen pairs and will not change. New Balance please hear me "DO NOT CHANGE THIS SHOE, IT WORKS. Thanks RRS for keeping it in your inventory.

I am a woman and want to know why the women's 851 was discontinued. I have not found anything comparable (have tried the 767, 1223, and now 1061 and cannot find the same comfort.) I have a narrow heel, so I fear trying a men's shoe will not work for me, but I am getting desperate. Suggestions?

Walkers should stock up. I walk 60 to 80 miles a week, & the 851's are the most durable & out-of-the-box comfortable I've found; fine for my mild pronation. Keep making them. please

I have purchased three pair of 851's and until I read the review by Jack Steehler, who complained becuz the absorb block irritated his forefoot, I was blaming my socks thinking I had a wrinkle between my toes and the ball of my foot. Thanks Jack, I am a slow learner for sure! But, in spite of this...

I have severe over-pronation and these shoes were comfortable right from the start. I've been using them for 2 weeks now. My previous shoes were Brooks and they were broken down because I was starting to have ankle and hip pain. That pain is now dissipating with the use of these NB's. I run about 4 ...

Don't change this shoe, NB, PLEASE. I've tried Adidas Supernova (almost as good), and others, but I keep coming back to these. Good combination of stability and cushioning, firm but supple, durable, medium weight. It takes 10-20 miles to break them in, but after that they fit like your favorite worn...

I'm a heavy runner and these shoes are the most durable I've run in. Very comfortable, too. I am dying because they don't seem to carry anything larger than a size 12, and I need a 13! Great shoe, comfortable fit, make 'em bigger!

Very good shoes for runners especially with flat feet. I have pronated feet and it's been difficult for me to choose the right shoe. This one fits very well and at the same time, very light. I highly recommend this for runners with flat feet!!Thanks Roadrunner sports for providing shoes for spl. nee...

For nine years this has been my mainstay shoe for long training runs. Great shock absorbption, great durability and stability, gentle on my body. Like the one disappointed reviewer here, I have felt the sharp edge under forefoot, but only for the first 10 or 20 miles: it breaks in for me.

These shoes are great. I had a lot of knee pain training for a marathon with other shoes. After the marathon I switched to these and..no more knee pain. I don't look to any other shoe.

I've been running in this shoe for 7 years (and wear it for normal everyday use). Over the last 35 years, it is the best running shoe for the price I've ever had!

I love this shoe and have purchasing it since the late 90's. Durability and shock suppor are both great. I just purchased 5 pairs to insure I will be able to run pain free for a long time. Do not hesitate to purchase in bulk,as long as you don't wear 11M

I am on my third pair of NB 851. As a mid mileage runner, I have never been disappointed with my 851s on any terrain or in any weather. They are sure-footed, comfortable, and offer more support than I need and always guarantee a safe, rewarding run. Hey, they even look good when I'm not running, ...

The NB 851 is the only reason I run. I have flatfeet and without them I'd have sore knees, injurys etc.The minute I put them on we are friends, no break in pains, blisters or soreness. I run 25 Miles a week and have worn these shoes since 97. Nothing compares to the 851. What ever you do New Balance...

Great boot, especially if your lookin' for mpg (300-500 miles) and saving a few bucks '2' boot. $60+ is a sweet deal for this roadrunner. And they are cool to look at, especially with a 'cowboy' tattoo strapped to your ankle. Get the fit 1/2" more than your normal street shoe size. RSS had'em knocki...

These shoes seem well built, with good fit. However, in my case, the "abzorb" block under the forefoot makes the bones of my forefoot quite sore, after just a few miles (10 miles total). I tried my old "worn out" 855's and the pain disappeared. It seems there is a hard edge to that insert, which h...

This shoe fits the bill when pronation control and flexibility are needed. Other motion control shoes aggrivated a forefoot tendon problem, but this shoe has plenty of flex in the front. The aches and pains in my knee and hip were also dramatically reduced. Highly recommended!
