I'm a heavy runner with flat feet and it was like running barefoot on concrete - my shins and knees were killing me. I'm 6 feet and 210 pounds and very few shoes work for me. These work and I'm happy! I've tried other shoes for the heavy runner, but keep coming back. My only complaint - they're ugly! Never had a blister or burn with this shoe. Fits great and wears well. Only problem is the gray fabric tends to discolor and wear out. Love the shoe!!! Comments about Mens New Balance 587 Running Shoe: I just got these shoes in the mail from RRS yesterday and did a few mile walk in them. You get what you pay for. This is a no frills shoe with some of the stiffest midsole material in the heel I've ever seen. Compared to the Brooks beast '04 and '07 versions, this shoe has a very hard, wider heel and slightly narrower forefoot. At 235 pounds I look forward to pounding these shoes and see how durable they are. If they hold up (I think they may) I will change rating to 5 probably. The only issue I had was that the achilles tendon pad sits so high it rubs quite a bit. As I did with other NB shoes, I will just cut the padding off, it affects nothing except that the shoe fits better. Comments about Mens New Balance 587 Running Shoe: Good shoe, but something wrong with the fit. I dont think that you should order a 1/2 size up, but rather a half size down. I'm a 13.5 ee and the 14's are so huge I can't work out in them. Displaying reviews 1-7
