Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

It's a shame I didn't discover this shoe earlier. A true runner's shoe. I hope I can buy up several while there is a few left. New Balance is really doing us a dis-service by replacing it.

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

Great trail shoe. If you are a minimalist that is light on the feet this is the shoes for you. The only problem that I have seen is in wet muddy conditions. The traction can get scary at times. Overall though I have run 7 hour runs on Alaska trails and have had no problems. I use to wear the adidas adizero xt because they were light and fast but these are a step up.

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

A minmalist trial shoe for very smooth or grass trails, if that's what your running this is a great shoe, however if you are gong to be on real trails with rocks and crud, beware, there is no protection.

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

These are about the most comfortable everyday shoe I've had. Can't see using them on the trail though -- much too lightweight. I advise getting them one full size over your measured shoe size, not 1/2 size as they say here.

Great shoe if you are ready for an ultralight trail shoe. If you like the Nike Free's, I think you will like these. Like running barefoot on soft grass.

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

Best shoe I have ever used. I use them for road and trails. They will make you a better runner. If you aren't used to minimalist shoes, read Chi Running first, learn the technique, and move up to these shoes. If you like Nike Free's, you might like these better. Awesome shoe. Kudos to NB!!!!

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

I love the shoe. It is a great lightweight trail shoe, BUT the first time I ran in them the right foot sole came unglued. Currently, I have super glued various place on shoe to keep it together. It is very frustrating since it is such a comfortable shoe...when the sole stays on!

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

Every once and a while I find a shoe that seems like it was born for my feet. That is how I feel about the 790 :). It is comfortable, responsive and good for the black-top as well as the mountain path.

Comments about Mens New Balance 790 Trail Running Shoe:

Been using this shoe as my trail shoe. Would like it to have a little more rock-bruise protection, but it is light, responsive, good traction on rocks, soft toe box, yet toe protection up front. unlike MOST trail shoes, the soft old-fashioned fabric heel counter does not injure my achilles like the plastic reinforced heel counters of most trail shoes do! And they have better energy return, that acteva cushioning is an improvement. - Cloudrunner
