Product Description:

NIKE® Free™ Trail 5.0: Down & Dirty with the FREE Trail 5.0

Free your sole and the rest will follow. Nike Free mimics the natural mechanics of your foot, but protects like a shoe so you're free to reap the benefits of barefoot running while on a trail. No matter who you are or how you run, stronger feet will improve your running and reduce injuries. Prevent injuries, strengthen feet and build speed by running 20 minutes per week in the newest version of the original Nike® Free 5.0. An improved upper hugs your foot and the waffle traction outsole enhances cushioning and durability.

Features & Benefits:

  • Inner layer of transpan hugs the foot and keeps you securely on the platform in proper position
  • Second layer of synthetic leather/leather protects from elements and debris along the trail
  • Patent pending Nike Free siped midsole is low-to-the-ground and nimble on uneven terrain
  • Low-profile Phylon midsole cushions and protects throughout your run
  • Additional rubber pods and lugs offer increased traction and agility for off-road running
  • BRS 1000 lugs in high-wear heel and forefoot areas for added durability

Comments about Mens Nike Free Trail 5.0 Trail Running Shoe:

I have run races up to 100 miles in these shoes (Umstead 100). They do not offer stone protection for technical trails, but for other surfaces they are great. I mostly train in the Free 5.0 or Free 4.0, doing up to 95 miles per week.
Swapping to Nike Free?s has resolved some nagging injuries, and I feel I run more efficiently and naturally now I have made the switch.

Comments about Mens Nike Free Trail 5.0 Trail Running Shoe:

I have been plagued by Achilles tendonitis
for over 15 years, reducing my mileage and
putting me in constant discomfort. Within
two months of switching to the Free, my mileage is up and I am PAIN FREE!!!

Comments about Mens Nike Free Trail 5.0 Trail Running Shoe:

I finally got over all the podiatry neuroses - now less is better for my feet. No need run in shoes that are designed to force my feet to do something they're not built to do. Nike Free is probably the way to go. I've owned 4 pair, from Iraq to New Mexico to North Carolina, 20 degrees to 120F.
