Comments about Mens Nike Air Equalon+ Running Shoe:

A Nike fan back in the 1980s, I haven't worn Nike in over 15 years. I tried the Equalon+ about a month ago, and I would say it might be the best shoe I've ever run in over 25 years of running. Superb fit, stability and cushioning. Great for a larger (190 lbs +) runner with moderate overpronation. They don't make me run like an 18-year old anymore, but I am running more comfortably than I have in a long time.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Equalon+ Running Shoe:

This is the second pair of Equalons that I have owned. The first pair was the red color and did not and still does not squeak. My blue pair squeak though, but only when walking. Great cushioning and support. I really like these shoes. I am 5'11" and 225lbs with extremely low arches and they hold up well. My first pair lasted about 300 miles before I could tell they were losing cushioning in the balls of the feet. But I really like them. I am concerned about the new Equalon 2's because they don't have as much support so I may have to stock up and another pair or two of these.

These shoes work for me. I wear orthotics and replace the inside with my inserts. The shoes have great cushion and stability. If you are young, thin and don't need stability or motion control then don't buy these shoes. If you are a heavy runner 180+ man these are great. Skinny high school kids save your money and buy pegasus or zoom milers.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Equalon+ Running Shoe:

Caused shin splints and knee pain. The shoe somehow rotated my feet outward as viewed from the top. Not just a little, but alot. I thought that was odd at first but thought I would give it a try anyway. Turns out I should have sent them back right away. Within three weeks they caused pain so bad I can hardly run. Went back to old worn out heavy cheap shoes and the pain has mostly left and I have started running again. Ordered new pair of New Balance hoping for a better outcome.

Well balanced shoe for someone of my size--6'3", 175#--running 20-25 miles per week. Lightweight and ready to go out of the box. Only issue is that they do squeak when walking or running; very annoying. This is probably a result of the insole configuration around the heal. Fix this problem, and it's an easy 5 stars.

Wow. For the last two years I ran in the Asic Gel Nimbus 7 and 8's. Great shoes but lack cushioning in the forefoot for bigger guys. I weigh 190 pounds and this shoe is the ultimate ride. Great comfort. The best shoe I have ever run in by far. Ultimate comfort and cushioning. Great fit. Toe box is also bigger than regular Nike's which is a definate plus. Overall an excellent shoe for bigger runners.

    Mon, March 05,2007:
Very bizarre that the Nike Air Structure Triax 10+ is more stable than the Equalon - no joke. The Equalon has defintely a higher heel. That functions very indirect to the street and the shoe stands up to high! The Air Structure Triax is much more direct to the ground. The Equalon is very wide insige and has a very wide heel too - similar to the Nike Air Cesium but the lacing system of the Equalon is much better. For this price I thought to get a better fit mit this shoe but I was wrong. P.S. The shoe is very heavy and extremely cushioned.

I'm 5'6 185 pounds. I wasn't a big Nike fan until this shoe came out. I ran in Kayanos, 1222s before the Equalon. Hands down Equalon has more support and thicker softer cushion. They're still lightweight and I like the nano chip feature it comes with so I can get feedback about my running while I listen to tunes.

Absolutely love these shoes. Although I had to take out the Nike insole b/c it gave me blisters and I put in one from another pair of shoes I had. This shoe is the ultimate blend of stability and cushion. I'm 6'2, 185 lbs., and this shoe is SOO AWSOME for me!! Finally, Nike figured out how make running shoes again. Way to go Nike -- you guys rule!! Nice to see an American Company make a strong showing in the 'real' running shoe market =)

Gonna go against the grain of other reviewers. These shoes didn't do it for me; knee and quadriceps soreness, thought I was overpronating in them.

I don't fit the noraml profile of the other reviewers but i'm 5'7" and 170. I average about 12 miles per week and i just purchased a set of these nikes and ran a personal best in the 5K. Great shoe with excellent cushioning. A little stiff out of the box but once into the run they loosened right up. Overall an outstanding shoe.

I fit the same profile as many of the other reviewers, 195 pounds, 6 feet tall, very low arch, use orthotics, and need cushioning and stability. I am a fairly high mileage runner, 2000 miles per year. Often find when I get a shoe that I really like Nike quits making them. Just ordered two more pairs of the Equalon+

Tried these based on reviews. I use orthotics; these shoes just didn't do the job for me. Calf and Achillies problems. Hope they are beneficial to most runners.

20 + years ago I killed it in Nike Peg's. Then Nike changed the last and toebox, making me switch to Asics. These are the first Nikes that I've even been able to wear (I'm only a 2E width in years, and feel great. Thank you, Nike!

Just finished my first 4 miles in these shoes and I am pumped! I have been running on asphalt for some 20+ years, averaging 15-20 miles a week, and this is by far the best shoe for those in the 180+ lbs. club. Felt like I was running on a "stable" cushion of air! No comparison to NB, Brooks, Addidas, Asics. It has been a long time since I owned a pair of Nike running shoes--great job!

I like the Equalon. I'm a big guy doing high mileage and it's light and stable. I hope it wears well -- we'll see. So far so good. Works with my orthotic too, just remove the liner easily.

The Nike Air Equalon is a good shoe to run in an slow pace.I like The way it feel a good supported shoe for the high mileage. For the fast pace shoe I also like the Nike Air Cesium. Both are good for flat feet.Nike have done a good job for flat footers like me

Does anyone know if you can remove the sockliner/insole in the Equalon to replace with your own orthotic?

Unlike the others who have reviewed this shoe, I am not a big guy- 150 lbs. The shoe feels great, extremely supportive but still very "runnable". It's got some zip unlike many other shoes that offer this much support. The cushioning is great- not too squshy, it has plenty of bounce.

Finally a Nike shoe for the Big Guys!!!! I am 6 ' 0, 218 lbs. This shoe is awesome! Feels like a "lesser guys shoe". SUPPORT AND CONTROL. From Nike. Thank God. Well Done.

So far so good! Light, comfortable and good looking. I'm 100kg and this is the best shoe I've tried. Recently I bought Asics Nimbus VII which were a disaster. Nike have produced a great shoe for big guys!

Great Shoe. I'm 205lbs and always ran in the Beast. This is lighter and is stable and extremely well cushioned. Finally Nike makes a shoe for the rest of us.

These shoes are perfect! They're great if you're in the 200lb range, and they're lighter than other comparable shoes. I've tried a few different brands, but I'm sold on these after only a few weeks. They feel great, they look great---they are great!

I like these shoes. I am a larger guy, 190 lbs and these have been great on long runs. Highlights include the free-inspired, beveled, lateral heel area, which offers comfort and pronation control. The upper is more spacious than most nikes, and the forefoot feel is amazing.
