Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

Just finished my 100th mile in them during morning run. Everyone's got their own shoe coice, but these aren't the Pegasus shoes I've run in for about 20 years. Nike's done some major reengineering with this model and the results aren't good as far as I'm concerned. For all runners who like this shoe, happy trails.

I bought these shoes in January for my B-day. Its now September and they still have the nubs on the bottom. I have put hundreds..if not thousands of miles on these shoes. They are the best all around shoe for running I have ever used. I sometimes have problems with Shin Splints and this shoe has almost gotten rid of that problem. The only part I don't like is the white netting...it gets dirty pretty easy.

Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

I have been wearing Pegs for 10 years, sometimes trying other makes and models but always coming back. I run about 2700 miles a year going 8-12 miles a day. The fit is great (appreciate the availabilty of wide) and weight is not too bad. These have held up well in the toe region, correcting problems with previous year designs which tended to tear at the toe. This years and last years models tend to wear out in the heal first. Took a bit longer than average to break in around the achillies but overall a good shoe. Will miss these and plan to buy another pair before they go off the market.

Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

I bought these shoes as a replacement for my Air Moto Max 5s that were getting old. The first time I ran in these shoes it felt very nice (keep in mind it was a short 1.5 mile run). Continuing to break the shoe in with short runs, walks, and doing other various sports in them it came the time to use them as my primary shoe. It pretty much went all wrong from there. The shoe has at best 35 miles on them, but running in them completely stiffens my lower legs to the point that I can barely walk after 3 miles of running. I have attempted to run on different surfaces, adjusting my run times, but the bottom line is that this shoe is impossible for me to run anything past 1.5 miles in. I go back to my old reliables and have no problems so the shoe mechanics don't seem to quite be built for neutral feed. These make my feet/legs react more like they were stepping into stability shoe territory.

I am a little miffed by some reviews that I have read here insinuating that people who have had bad experiences with these shoes are overweight or somehow have something wrong with them. Please grow up and consider the enormous diversity of unique body types embodied by the similarly enormous number of people in the world who are not you.
I am 6'4" and weigh 170-175 lbs, with a moderate/high arch. These shoes felt fine for the first ,200 miles that I put on them. The only thing off the bat that I didn't like was that they are a bit too heavy. Past 200 miles, the cushioning seems to have completely disappeared. The heel now feels much too thick, as if it strikes early and too abruptly. This wasn't too noticeable when they were new, but running in them anymore is torture and guarantees that I will have a sore achilles and soleus afterwards. I have about 80 miles on a pair of Adidas Response 16's that I bought before the Pegs wore out, and have taken a much greater liking to those.

Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

I have worn Pegasus since inception during the mid-1980s. There have been mostly good years but also some terrible years. Remember the Pegasus is Nike's best selling shoe of all time. This edition lacks cushioning and is way too heavy. I also tried the newer 2008 +25 shoe. Stay away from that; it's worse than this one. My advice to Nike, fix the Pegasus and you'll have a lot of runners return to your Nike brand.

I've used the Pegasus as my primary trainer (full marathons) for the past several years and have zero complaints...well perhaps a little more mileage before the need of replacement would be nice but that is probably due to the surfaces I train upon. That said, those complaining should consider shedding that extra weight around their middles or perhaps forego running and switch to biking. Ya might be happier.

I love this shoe. I really dont know what he heck is wrong with all of you guys. Maybe this really isn't the shoe for your foot type so to rag on it is just dumb. I admit I was pretty attached to the 2002 but I soon realized that Nike updates things so just got used to it. Pegasus has always been my go to shoe. I always say I will try something else and then somehow I still end upgoing back to it. I have worn pegs since the 2000 version and to be honest I like each model that comes out. I always feel so smooth and efficient in these. I rotate between the structure triax 11 and these because they both are so comfortable, but I always wear these for longer runs and most days. Cant wait to get another pair of these then try out the new 2008s. If it helps I run 80-120mpw and most of it is in these shoes.

Third and final page for our missing in action Nike CEO--All these negative reviews cannot be off base. Here you have dedicated Pegasus wearers for many years telling you the current shoe is a piece of junk. I ran in a race last weekend with about 2500 other people. Didn't see anyone wearing a Pegasus. In talking to runners, I'd ask about the Pegasus, since I was the only fool wearing them. They just wished me luck, believe me, my Nike CEO, the negative word is on the street about the lousy Pegasus.

Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

I'm a tall runner with a neutral stride and narrow feet, so I don't have all that many shoes to choose from. I've been running in the Pegasus for the last five years, and for me this is one of the best versions. The forefoot cushioning is much improved - I took them out for a long run right away and had no problems. While these are not high-mileage shoes, it is nice to find something that works!

Comments about Mens Nike Running Shoes | Nike Air Pegasus+ 2007 - Road Runner Sports:

How could this shoe pass the initial plan stage? Don't they test shoes before they are made and sold to the masses. Nike listen up. There is no way A neutral shoe shouls almost weigh 13 ounces. Here is my wish list of the new Peg. The upper needs to be in the design of the new skylon. Very lightweight with welded overlays, not the heavy, foot pinching, poorly designed ones on current 07 peg. USE standard eyelets. Keep it simple! The skylon has the perfect upper. Inside the heel collar needs to be soft and grippy, not slick and hard like the current 07's. The width is still to wide and baggy. Needs to be more streamlined to hold the foot well.
The outsole of the 07's have held up well. Please keep full length carbon rubber. Midsole needs to be lighter weight and more responsive. The 08 Peg 25+ looks very promising....07 was a rough year for Peg lovers..08 Peg can't come soon enough, too bad the release date is too late to help those training for spring marathons.

The 08 is already a done deal. Let's hope Nike straightened this mess out!

I was not going to comment, but seeing the number of positive responses I wondered about their source. It could very well be that different feet, different running styles, different results, who knows? But I have been wearing Pegasus shoes for as long as I can remember, 10 years? Short story, I did a marathon in the new 2007s last year and my only reaction was "something has to be wrong with this pair of shoes" either old, bad batch, who knows. It was only then that I found out that the construction had been changed. Soles of my feet were sore for nearly a week. I could not hardly walk the next day, second day. Couldn't run for a week. I immediately stocked up on endangered 2006s and have done two marathons on the first pair of those, got another pair now to put into action (I do 2-3 marathons a year). Pegasus was a great shoe, at least for me. I won't buy them again, or any of the "plus" models I guess. The question is for me, are there any Pegasus equivalents out there?

I got my pegasus 07 as a gift and was worried of all the bad reviews I read here. Thats until I got the chance to tried it out myself last night. The shoe is comfortable through out my first 10k run. A lot of cushion on the heel and flexible at the mid and toe area. But it felt slightly heavy on the heel as most reviewers have pointed out in here. Its also quite stable as I ran on a mixture of road and pebble foot path. I have yet to test out the durability as only time can tell. Not a fast shoe but good enough for my short medium distance runs. 2.5 stars from me

These shoes are an embarrassment to the famed Pegasus name/brand. Peg is the best selling shoe in history. They're too heavy, especially in the heel. The cushioning is screwed up by the ipod sensor. On the plus side, the soles are durable and the overall fit is great. Come on Nike, these Pegasus' need a redo for 2008.

I run about 2000 miles and about 5 marathons a year. Thus I usually go through 4-5 pairs of shoes anually. The Peg is one of my favorites and has been for several years. They do take a long time to break in (150 miles) but hold up very well. I am unhappy with the very bulky collar on the 2007 shoe which irritated my ankles. I cut the padding out of the collars and the shoe is great.

08 info... If you look for it, there are pics and some chat of the Air Pegasus + 25 design. They're coming out in June, July availability. The new design has returned to a full length air unit (how??? considering it's a +), it's an oz. lighter and has a flater outsold as companies start to exchew the middle split (thank god). Apparently there is still some split, but less plastic than the 07. Sounds almost too good to be true.

Sat, March 15,2008:
Now that the 08's are about to drop I thought I'd add a second review. I'm not paid by Nike, I not a Nike fan, I just run in what works. As someone else posted, I think the big difference is the split air units necessitated by Nike+. For people who need cushioning, the front unit seems over-inflated at first. What I've noticed is that they lose cushioning rather quickly (3 weeks or so for me). You still have a great trainer, it just isn't the really soft experience Peg fans are used to. Additional issues: weight- they feel a little heavy; short laces-not as bad as 05 but still makes double knotting a bitch; traction- disappointing on ice (for whatever reason these do great on snow poor on ice). Overall, I still say the 04's were the best, 05 really sucked, the 06's were acceptable, 07s an improvement. Perhaps in 08 nike could offer a Nike+ verision and a full length air version...and longer laces!

Ryan, Congrats on Twin Cities. Great Run. As you can see, you are a rare exception, only a few who likes the 07 Peg. Keep in mind, I have been a long time Pegasus Runner for 20+ years. I used to be able to get 600 miles from the Peg's made in the 80's- early 90's, They have been going down hill ever since 1997. Your 07's are getting ready for the grave yard at just around 300 miles. That's terrible. Nike should be ashamed of themselves. Or should we be for buying them. The 08's do look like a big improvement.

6' 160. 3:06 at 2007 Twin Cities. Keep the complaints coming. I just got two more pair for $100 because everyone is hating on this shoe. I've worn the last five versions of the Pegasus and have never really had any shoe related injuries that I've had with Saucony and Asics. The Peg has definitely gotten a bit stiffer and slightly heavier, improving the stability. The cushion is still there, it just needs a good run or two to soften it up. The heel is pretty worn at about 225 miles, which is about normal for me. The rest of the outsole looks pretty fresh, so I've probably got another 50-75 mi.

I truly believe Nike doesn't give a hoot about any of this feedback. The CEO could care less, he's making millions and let the dissatisfied Pegasus wearers go to heck. The only option all us naysayers have is to stop buying the shoe until it improves. In about 15 years, Nike will go belly up and wonder how it happened. Nike...PLESAE HIRE ME! I can guarantee you Nike, that I can design I better shoe than this piece of garbage. I would bet money that whoever designed this 07 Pegasus is not a Runner. The lacing system is the worst I've ever seen on a shoe. I've been a Runner for over 20 years. Keep it simple. Standard laces are the way to go. What is up with all the overlays? PLEASE STOP the madness. A basic neutral cushion shoe that the Peg is, should never weigh 12+ounces, never! the heel collar is made with such a slick material that your heel slides in it. Who designed this shoe? I would like to know! The cushion is horrific! Like running on a piece of wood. The pics of the 08 Pegs show some hope. We will see? Please Nike, at least release the new Pegs a few months early. July is Far, far away.Or release an old vintage Peg from the 80's if you are going to keep creating garbage like the 07 Pegs.

It does not surprise me that Nike again has screwed up a good popular shoe and replaced it with one that virtually nobody wants. Whats with the the big bump under the forefoot? Haven't looked at reviews in over 6 months. Absolutely shocked by all bad reviews. Nike usually has a good Pegasus model. I tried these and sent them in for a refund after only 3 runs. The latest Pegasus is different in cushion, wear, and overall comfort, no I mean overall discomfort. Just not a proud Nike moment for the Corporation.

Peg man for 20+ years. Love them, despite a few years with poor editions. Just hit my 200th mile in these new ones. They're not like most good Peg editions. My stride and foot contacts are thrown off by these shoes. Could be the new heel design or the split(new) cushioning design in the soles vs. full length cushioning in prior year models. Split sole cushioning was done to accommodate the ipod sensor. My legs ache after a 10k. Nike, your designers need to regroup on the shoe and fix it. If not, based on all the negative reviews, you're going to lose a big purchaaser base to other brands.

Hate to pile on after all the bad reviews. But, the reviewers were correct. These are bad, bad, bad, bad shoes. I have been a Nike guy for over 20 years. They've had some terrible shoes but mostly good shoes. I'm wondering if Nike lost its' way and began worrying more about issues unrelated to top notch running shoes. If so, eventually another entity will corrall Nike's running shoe market. What a terrible shame.

Worn different Nike shoes since early 1980s. Been mostly happy with them. Have used Pegasus, Air Max, Columbias, Triax, etc. Pegasus has been my most used shoe. I can't get revved up with the new ones though. They don't feel or run like the old models. Something's changed enough to give me foot, knee, and ankle discomfort, not pain. Seems I'm landing differently. Nike, redo the shoe to the old specs, please.

Mon, October 29,2007:
I'll be simplistic. When you pay $77 for shoes, they should feel like slippers for comfort. Nike used to make shoes fitting the slipper category. Not anymore! With Nike, there's always tradeoffs; comfort/undurable, durable/uncomfortable, etc. Cushioning rates about 50% of older Nikes. If you don't believe me, try some older years' shoes. I tried these, ran for 2 weeks(60 miles) and sent them back. They don't match the prior Pegasus.

These shoes are a little Dr. Jekyll and Mr Hyde for me. I think they feel great and have a great transition. I'm about 6 foot and 185lbs, but I do a relatively quick 7:10 pace time and these shoes make me feel like running quickly. However, they hit my Achilles tendon in such a way that I now I have Achilles tendinitis. I'm going to cut back the heel bit and see if they continue to give me problems. If they don't I'm buying up all the extras.

I will agree that they are different than the 06's, but for my foot, the change was better. Sorry that others have experienced disappointment and disgust, maybe I'll feel different about the 08's when they come out. I just ran the Detroit Marathon over the weekend in these and everything felt great at the end of the race. Only thing is they could be a little lighter. Cushioning is great, no foot pain, overall excellent shoe. Personally, I love this model. Way to go Nike!

Hadn't read any Pegasus reviews since last November. Wow! I've sent back 2 pair of the '07s. Thought I was the only unhappy camper. Looks like Nike has messed up their best shoe ever. I never felt these were as comfortable or as long lasting as previous years. But for you runners who love them, amen!! They don't do it for me. Later, folks!!!!!

I have 307 miles on my 07 Peg's. Lot's of life left. All those slamming the 07 Peg's. Sounds like you were raised wearing a super soft shoe that 98 percent of shoes today are. It's about time a good shoe is out that has some firmness to it. Nike keep the midsole/outsole the same. The only thing I would do is make the upper more streamlined, snugger, and lighter.

Nike, Nike!!!! Shame on you,how could you take a great running shoe and totally screw it up. I've never been so disappointed in my running life of 40 plus years. Thought I was the only disappointed running zealot until I read these reviews. Nike, my best advice is get your act together, redo your best ever selling shoe, or run the business risk of driving away a big portion of your running shoe buyers to another brand. But does Phil Knight really care????

Fri, October 05,2007:
These Pegasus would get a big zero, but that number doesn't compute in the rating formula. Poor traction on rainy pavements, not a lot of cushioning which by the way was the big selling point for past Pegasus'. Limited durability, mine wore out at about 120 miles. I've used only Nike shoes since about 1980. Now, I'm determined to switch brands if their shoes are any better.

Well, I put almost 100 miles on these 2007 Nike Air Pegasus, and I still do not like the design or construction of these shoes. I by mistake was shipped the latest version of the Pegasus. I to have been running in Nike's since the 70's, and I have worked for Nike as a shoe rep in the past. These actually were not too bad a shoe. I do agree with most of the reviews Nike Sucks !!! I have been a Nike wearer for most of my life and have been faithful. I feel that Nike's product development has gone wayward. How it is that they have allowed a great shoe company to develop crap simply evades me. I suggest that most loyal Nike customers take a close look before making purchases in the future. I have posted reviews about the Vomero's, Pegasus, Air Structures, and others. In the last 2 years I've experienced more stressed related injuries than all of my past 32 years of running. I've been running in Nike's for 32 years. Maybe the folks at Roadrunner Sports might have some input with Nike, they sure need help.

Age-62. Still run 45 per week. Used mostly Pegasus plus other Nike shoes since 1983. Extremely disappointed, actually very disgusted, that Nike redid this shoe. A very good, durable shoe is now not much more than an old racing flat for those of you who remember them--no cushion, tough on the feet and legs, etc. I don't want to switch brands but will do so if next edition of Pegasus is as bad as these.

Terribly disappointed. Thought Nike would produce a superior shoe with new technology advances. These are a bit poorer than previous editions. Nike needs to improve in 2 areas; durability and cushioning. Too high a jolt in the wallet for such a poor shoe.

I've had my pair since late June and have bee impressed. Even though people seem to complain about durability, I've found the durability to much better than the 06's. My favorite Pegs are still the 04 model which were panned, so maybe I'm just atypical. I have high arches, so less of the plastic crap in the middle of the shoe is a nice improvement over 06. Additionally, although it scared me at first, I prefer the two air units to the full length unit found in the older non-Nike+ versions. I found that early on, the front air felt a little over-inflated, but they broke in nicely. For 08 I'd love see all the plastic arch support removed. And, I'm hoping we get rid of the split heel/forefoot that have been all the fashion. 6', 165, 25-40 mi/wk, high arches and tend to over-supinate (this is fairly atypical, so it may explain how different opinion). I haven't used Nike+.

Thought this was the perfect shoe for my wide foot. The issue is that these shoes cost more that my cable bill as they only retain their cushion for 150-200 miles. That's a new pair every 5-6 weeks. Turns out that a pair of Brooks at $120+ will cost less in the long run.

Best Trainer I've worn in a long time. Former Mizuno Wave Rider until they screwed that one up with the WR10. Wish the 07 Peg was lighter. Upper too Heavy. I had to get a narrow and it's still a tad too wide. Nike going too much the other way on their widths. Overall, I like the ride. It's about time we had a firmer shoe. Most shoes today are WAY TOO soft. I do wish that Nike would bring back and revive the Original Peg from 1984 Grey. That was the best one!

Wow!!! I've never seen so many bad reviews before. Gave these a try; they're really horrible!! I won't even try to say how much better the 2006 shoes were. Nike, you have some big retooling to do to make this shoe a better one. I'll never buy Nike again, if this shoe is what the Nike future envisions. I'm glad I bought these shoes before I read all the negative reviews. I have no real problem with them. I've only had them for a couple of weeks (40 miles,) and I like them a lot. I am a neutral+ runner with a high arch and run exclusively on a treadmill. I'm glad I don't have a wide foot, the uppers feel a little tight, but plenty of room for the toes. Yes, the laces are a little short, but that's not a deal breaker. I would recommend these shoes.

Nike, you messed this 2007 edition up terribly. This is your best selling shoe since the mid 1980s. I've never seen so many irritated people based on all the reviews. I loved the 2006s, hate the07s. Nike's quality went downhill.Since 97.I've used Asics, Brooks, etc. The 2004 Pegasus brought me back. Very happy with them. 2005-not really a good edition. '06-good. 2007-terrible. Not much cushioning. I've read all the posts-pro and con. Tells me Nike needs to retool the shoe.

Great Shoe, Would of given a 5 except it is a little on the heavy side. With today's technology a neutral shoe should not weigh 12 ounces. The upper has to many overlays, It has a better upper than the 06, could be a little more narrow. The heel collar needs softer material. It's too slick. Overall a good solid trainer. I like the midsole/outsole. Best Pegasus since 1997.

Hey Matthew. Get your facts straight. The Nike Pegasus didn't even debut until 1984. So you could not of worn them since 1980. I did like the earlier Pegasus of the mid 80's to mid 90's the best, but the 07 Pegs are not bad. On the heavy side though. A workhorse of a trainer. Budd Coates of Runners World likes it. He is a former World Class Marathoner.

I actually like the 2007 Peg better than the 2006. Better upper, fits my foot better, 06 was too boxy. 150 miles and my 07's holding up well. I like the cushion better, firmer, the 06's full length air had too much rebound effect, not as stable. They raised the arch a tad too in the 07's, another plus. I do wish Nike would lighten the Peg. Way too many overlays. Go with a similar upper and lacing of the new Skylon. Everyone is different, but I do like the 07 Pegs.

Hate the 2007s. Loved the 2006s. Called Nike to complain, was told they removed full length airsole from 2006 and used two differnt air soles in 2007s to make room for ipod sensor in bottom of shoe. That's just wonderful, now I know why there is less cushioning; so about 1% of runners can listen to tunes. Nike, are you out of your senses. Give me back the full length airsole, I want to run not listen to music.

I've run in the 2007 and 2006 Pegasus, in fact I did a run with one on each foot to compare them. I didn't feel much difference, which is actually what Nike was shooting for. To me, the new upper fits better due to revised placement of overlays. My main gripe is that the Pegasus could be a little more flexible, but as Mills suggested in an earlier review, try the shoe with a different insole as the stock insole is a bit stiff for some. Outsole durability is fine at 150 miles. People looking for a softer shoe may want to check out the Moto 5, a big upgrade from the Moto 4.

I've been running for 20 years, and I have worn Nike Pegasus shoes since the 2000 models (except the 2005 & 2006 Pegs). After reading all the bad press and putting around 20 miles on the new Pegs, I did feel something strange than the previous Peg models. I replaced the new insole with an old insole from the 2004 Pegasus, and they feel much better to run in. The new insole has a weird hump in the forefront that makes it uncomfortable to run on. I don't think it's the shoe, just replace the new insole with a different insole from a previous Pegasus model and it should be fine to run in.

I read all the reviews and thought there is no way Nike could foul up the Pegasus as badly as people were saying. My apologies to all those people. These 2007 shoes are pure junk. I gave up on them 3 miles into a 12 mile Sunday run on a beautiful day for running. My legs simply hurt like heck from the lack of cushioning. The next day I could barely walk with pain from hips to toes. I run 45 miles aweek and we all have minor discomfort from time to time but nothing like I had with these crappy shoes. I went out a few days later with worn out 2006 shoes and had no discomfort. Nike, congratulations for your absolute destruction of a good shoe. What in God's name were your geniuses thinking?

I've worn Pegasus from year 1. Mostly great years, some really bad editions. The 2007s are by far the absolutely worst pieces of crap I've ever seen. Little to non existent cushioning, quick sole wearout, average uppers, and one of my biggest peeves; short shoe laces. Nike, come on for Pete's sake; can't you make the shoelaces about 3 inches longer so we can tie the shoes properly!! Or is the shoelace issue saving you thousands of dollars. For a once great running shoe company, I rate you presently at the bottom. Profit at the expense of customer service. I've bought your shoes faithfully for 20 years, no more; switching to Brooks.

What a bummer! If the name didn't say Pegasus, I'd never, ever think these shoes were Pegasus. I felt these had about 1/3 the cushioning vs. 2006 edition. Nike, you fouled up with these.

I dont know why everyone is down on this shoe. It is a huge leap forward from the '06. The cushlon has been added for a much softer ride and the air pocket was split in two to accomodate the plus system. This helped to reduce the amount of rebound from the air pocket lessening the impact on the legs. The upper may be just a tad roomy near the toes, but overall a good fit. Throw on a little thicker sock and you are good to go. Much closer to the glory days of the '02 model.

Terribly unimpressed. Compared to previous Pegasus, these rate at the bottom. The only similarity to 2006 is the name Pegasus. Found a lot less cushion, but a wider width. Mine wnt back immediately to RRS for a pair of 2006 shoes.

Pegasus user for years through mostly good production years and some bad years. These are the worst Pegs I've used. Almost no cushioning, unstable and just a poor Nike product. And Nike had the absolute gall to raise the price. Unbelievable!!!

Stick with 2006 models. 2007 has much less cushioning and a more unstable ride.

Oh boy!!! Saw negative posts, have worn Pegasus' for years, tried 2007. They're really bad shoes. All kinds of running ailments from them, knee, hip etc. Went back to 2006s. Don't know what the Nike designers did but it's a terrible result.

Would of given the 07 Peg's a 5 star, except for the upper. The midsole/outsole has been great. A excellent feel on the road. Not too soft, not too hard. Great, solid training shoe. I have not worn Peg's since 1998. I had to go to a narrow width to make it work. They tapered the upper this year. The improvements that would make this shoe the best neutral/cushioned trainer on the planet. Nike needs to make the upper more compfortable and lighter. They need to use the upper of the new Skylon, and keep the midsole outsole. The shoe is still to heavy. They need to get rid of some of the overlays. Way too many of them. It makes the upper a not as soft or comfortable as it could be. The ankle collar and back of the heel padding is too slick, Nike should use more of a softer, mesh type material so it grabs a little and conforms in and around the ankle. Just a few upper changes..other than that a great training shoe. The outsole is wearing well, the others must have gotten a bad batch.

As a longtime Pegasus wearer, I took the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Don't! Terrible shoes. Crippled me. Went back and bought 4 pairs of 2006, and hope they'll last until Nike replaces this atrocity in 2008 or hopefully sooner.

Worst shoe I've ever worn. Just junk compared to previous Pegasus. Best of running to the reviewers who rated these as a 5. Proves once again that every foot needs different shoes.

This a great neutral, well cushioned runner's shoe. Have been a Mizuno devotee in the past, but this entry from Nike has made a believer out of me. Most comfortable and best performing shoe I have worn in several years.

Looks like you either love or hate the 2007s. I think they're one of the worst Pegasus editions ever. Very little cushioning, quick wearout on soles, increased price for less quality, and just a darn poor shoe for overall running comfort.

I purchased a pair despite the bad reviews. Guess what? The 2007 Pegasus are as bad as people said. I had terrible knee and Achilles problems after 3 runs in them. I run 20 miles plus a week. We all experience discomfort from time to time, but these shoes are a definite injury producer.

Terrible shoes-go back to the 2006 models. Feel the difference in air cushioning in 2006s(great) vs. 2007(almost no cushioning). Nike, your shoe scientists laid a big goose egg with the 20072.

Nike, you messed up. Your engineering geniuses fixed a great shoe-2006- and broke them with the 2007 version. I wont bore everyone with a long list of complaints, just dont buy the shoe if you want to run comfortably.

The trend is pretty obvious: If you like the 2006, you won't like the 2007. I for one hated the 2006. I liked the 2004, loved the 2005, but his version is without a doubt my favorite. I am a high arched, slight under-pronator, and this shoe is the most natural feeling shoe I've ever worn. I still wonder why Nike messes with this shoe so much...

I work at a good running store, and run collegiately. The 2006 shoes were a bust- The 2007 shoes fit and function like the older pegs. The people that complain about "Knee pain" are probably the people that think they can run in a cushioned shoe when they probably need motion control... This shoe is great - little brother to the great cushion in the Vomero. ONLY RUN IN THIS IF YOU HAVE A NEUTRAL FOOT! Get sized correctly! Black toenail = Shoe too small. It's very simple.

I really liked the 2006s. Tried the 2007 after reading the negative posts. Have to agree that 2007s are really bad shoes. Ran a 12 miler, wound up with a black, painful nail on right big toe. Still not running after the injury occurred 10 days ago. That's my input on the 2007s.

Previously posted good remarks for neutral runner - cush, transition, stable. Durability update is also good after 200+ miles. Minimal wear on sole. Based on comments below if you liked 2006, you may not care for 2007. I could not wear 2005 or 2006. I have experienced many shoes - running for 30 + years

Very unhappy, these are not real Pegasus, just some fake version. I cannot believe Nike reengineered a shoe from total success to total failure. I wouldn't run in these shoe even if Nike paid me to do so.

I read all the negative posts and said to myself no way can Nike foul up a shoe that badly. I bought a pair and started a 15 miler in them. By mile 4 my feet hurt, knees were sore, and my hips begged me to stop. I'm a marathoner and have never experienced any pains of these kind before. I stopped. Next day the shoes were sent back to RRS.

Nike, you did it again! You took a 2006 version, a great shoe; tried to improve it and generated the 2007 model. They are terrible. Knee pain, foot pain; my list is endless. Please revert back to 2006 technology.

I loved the first two versions of the Pegasus and then it appeared that Nike began tinkering with a good thing. The result, several years later you have the 2007 version and it's bad. I've only worn them on two runs thus far but I've experienced fascitis on both runs. I will not buy another Pegasus.

Worn pegasus year in, year out; through good models and horrible editions of pegasus. 2006 shoes were absolutely outstanding. The 2007s,candidly,stink. My feet were not stable in these shoes and I had severe knee pain(medial side)after a 5 miler. Nike, listen to your customers; don't fix unbroken things. If you don't listen, we'll not buy your shoes.

2004 was good, 2005 was terrible, and 2006 was good. Have been in Pegasus shoes for many years. 2007 feel like the 2005, not good. Why dosen't Nike leave it alone when they get a good one. Not sure I will buy another pair.

Haven't worn Nike's in 25 years, but was tired of my Asics Cumulus IX series, particulary after the outer heal fell off after only 4 runs. Gave these a try today and they felt nice and bouncy. I tend to drag my left leg a bit and wear heels down, but these seem to have a sturdier design. Would be interested to know why others gave them such a low rating.

Very disappointed, these are nowhere close to 2006 shoes in ride, cushioning and performance. Nike, the 2006s were the best Pegasus in many years. Why do you keep trying to fix something tha isn't broken?

Compared the new 2007 vs. 2006 on soles. Started rubbing 2007 sole with my fingers and the rubber started wearing off. I don't know what Nike did but I've worn the pegasus through the mostly good years and some of the bad production years(2005).This 2007 version is really bad.

I read the other posts and bought a pair anyway. Have maybe 45 miles on the shoes. On 15 miler yesterday, soles began breaking down. Soles showed a lot of wear after that long run. Nike is obviously experimenting with the rubber in the soles. My assessment is 1 star; more money for less quality. Bye Nike, hello New Balance. The only way Nike will improve this shoe is when sales volume drops dramatically. Call me a skeptic if you want but Nike is big business; not the company it used to be 30 years ago which was a company that actually cared about its customers.

I'm a running graybeard and have worn the Pegasus and its predecessor, Columbia since 1980. I just don't know about these 2007s. I've run about 75 miles and the soles, as others have said, are already wearing down. The Colunbia, 1985 edition, gave me 900 miles; yes, 900 for $60. Here I have a $77 shoe probably giving me at best 300. I thought modern technology would improve wear, not reduce it. I can buy a new car tire for $100 and get 20,000 miles. Hmmm, Nike, hello!!!

Worn Pegs for many years. 2006 edition was great. 2005 edition, a total failure. These 2007s feel good so far(about 30 miles). Like all other posts, sole durability is extremely suspect. At 30 miles, my soles look like 150 miles did on 2006 Pegs. Nike, come on; you raised the price and reduced the shoe's quality. Shame on you, Nike!!!

4th year I've been wearing the Pegasus and I love the 2007 version so far. Better fit than the 2006 and 2005 models. Just feels really good. I've never used the Pegasus insoles...buy the RRS Cush Runner ones...best ever. I agree with previous posts that Nike's durability is very suspect. I know it's probably a profit issue but if Nike just tweaked their durability a bit to be more like New Balance (shoes that will last forever) then I'd have more faith in them as a company thats not some greedy monopoly. Just my 2 cents.

Price went up by $5 versus 2006 Pegs. Ride is great, actually better than 2006 edition. Like previous post, I'm really concerned about sole durability. I have only about 10 miles on these shoes and they're already showing a lot of sole wear. The 2006 Pegs were usually good for me for 100 miles. We'll see about these new ones. Why the devil can't Nike charge a little more and use better carbon rubber for the soles?? I think the simple answer is they want quick sole burnout to sell more shoes to pay Tiger Woods and Michelle Wie.

Good so far. They fixed (softened) the arch in the insert. Much better midfoot transition. Great cushioning and stable ride. Not as stiff. Better that 2003-2006. Not sure about durability yet
