Great shoe. Very comfortable and durable for road and trail running. Good looks. I have put hundreds of miles on them and have ran a couple of races with them. I would buy them again.

Pros: Light, flexible and much cushion. Cons: Not as aggressive on very rocky descents. Before buying Brooks check out my first choice in trail running - Nike Air Zoom Trail S+ Men's Shoes.

Awesome fit and grip. I took these on a trip to Tahoe and they worked great! I like the Nike+ feature, but don't use it when I am trail running or hiking.

unfortunately nike often has a habit of doing away with shoe models we love...and that was the case with the kyotee 2...that offered my tall 180lb back disc-sensitive body the cushioning i needed and the protection against air bladder poppage that unfortunately i experienced on the 360...i was frantic and even bought a pair of brooks glycerins, the so-called premiere cushioning shoe...i found the brooks very cushioning, but lacking the resilience and return of energy i was used to in nike air, which i had used for many years...what was i to do...i had been afraid to try the pegasus, even the trail, as it looked as if the air bladder came right to the sole surface in the middle of the heel...however, when informed by a nike employee that this plastic bubble did not go direct to the bladder, and the air bladder was in fact further recessed, deep enough into the shoe to resist 1/8" burr spikes, i bought the shoe...must say i'm glad the demise of the kyotee 2 has brought

I've run in pegasus for years. As far as cushioning, stability, and traction go - this shoe works well. BUT Nike changed the upper material and mine have already ripped after less than 4 months of muddy trails - they should easily last a year - so durability is poor.

Bought these sight unseen. Big mistake. Like running with bricks on your feet. Hard as a rock, no cushioning, extremely stiff (feet are supposed to flex). The outsole will wear quickly unless used exclusively on trails. I picture these more as a trail WALKING shoe that you can wear thicker socks in. I hate'm as a running shoe. Two 5 miles runs and I'm done with them.

Worst shoes I've ever had in 30+ running years. Very heavy, not much cushion, found them extremely difficult to run in and I'm a 45 mile/week guy. Maybe it's just me because all us runners know there are shoes that work for you and shoes that are bummers.

ran the crystal cove 15k trail race in these, no problems, no slipping or slidding anywhere on the fast downhills. no bashed toes from the all the loose rocks on the trails.

Not what the ad hype promises. I run in winter weather and slipped more on snow and ice with these shoes than with other brands. Overall ride was just ok, cushioning was less than I'm used to, for some reason my feet ache after runs with these and that's never happened before. I won't buy another pair.

Great al around shoe. I wear these puppies everywhere. Contemplated running in the Long Beach Marathon but went with better judgement and ran in my Vomeros. These feel much more cushioned than the 06/07 Pegs plus they look and feel great!

very nice shoes more for good off road trail but very efficient definitely a shoe to run with. The heel is a bit to hight and it released some stability in very rocky place. Personnaly I have taken it every where with success.

Excellent running shoe. I go running on trails almost every day and the regular Pegasus was not providing the cushioning and traction I needed but this Trail Pegasus does. I have not tried them on the road or track yet but I have to assume they will work just as well there. I run on some pretty rought terrain sometimes and the Trail Pegasus handles everything thrown at it, so far anyway. I have only had them a couple of months and I am anxious to see how they hold up over time. No break in time was needed as they felt comfortable on day one. They really are a good running shoe, better than the regular Pegasus which I have worn for over 25 years including 12 marathons. If the Trail Pegasus holds up for at least a year, they will become my new running shoe. Good work Nike.

Shoes had very little cushioning vs. previous trail Peg editions. Don't know what Nike was thinking by eliminating cushioning because high cushioning has always been a trademark for Pegasus. These shoes felt like racing flats. We all know Nike won't change this edition since it's already produced thousands of these shoes. Maybe there's hope for 2008. If not, then my allegiance to Nike for the past 35 years switches to Asics, Brooks, or New Balance. I just think Nike doesn't care about the average customer anymore; it's just their bottom line profit margin. Too bad, at one time Nike made really top notch running shoes.
