I waited this time to review this shoe. I had such bad luck with asics. So far I've run my best 5k in these and my feet float,my bad knees don't hurt. Great support and cushioning package

5ft8 160lbs I run 15 miles a week. I tried these for 60 days. These shoes were great when I first bought them however I started to get pain in my back and in my feet I even added an insole and the pain continued. RR took them back with no questions and I ordered the Vomero I hope these will be bette...

the shoe is kind of ugly but i have had no problems. i had been running on the old equalon + but then they discontinued it and i had to get these. to their credit they look better than the old ones, but they feel different (not as snug-fitting i think - more toe room, and stiffer). i just got my ...

I am 208lbs, ran 2 marathons, and average about 30 miles a week. These shoes are light and fit great on a wide foot. However, I've ran with them on three 8 mile runs and they feel too soft. It almost feel like I'm running on $19 Big5 shoe. After the run, I can feel slight pain on my shins and kn...

Shoes are comfortable and the width and arch support work well with my orthotics. Unfortunately the lacing system leaves little to be desired. I tie my shoes snug, not tight, and the laces went through the eyelets after a few runs. This happened 2 times so no more Equalons for me.

it dosent bother me at all. I run about 7 mile a day so the road runner guy pointed out this shoe for a long distent runner and he made the right choice

I had the Eq. 1s, and they were too firm in the midsole, should have been in the Motion control catagory.
eq 2s are much softer, as the Stability plus catagory should be, but I liked the wider toe box of the prev, version.
For me, the heel to toe transition is much smoother which I attribute to th...

The previous Equalon + is a better stability shoe. I'm a relatively big guy: 6'1", 210 lbs. and need a good stability shoe. The Equalon 2 + has good cushioning, but after about 50 miles, the uppers became too flexible and the shoe lost its stability factor.

Tried these as a replacement for my beloved first edition Equalons but these have changed quite a bit. The cushoning is quite a bit softer, but it was the fit that got me. I think these were tighter across the forefoot and there is a new plastic strip there right on the outside by the ball of the ...

A decent shoe overall but the heel toe transition isn't good. Have been running in Vomero 2s and these have much less cushioning which may be preferred by some. I will stick with the Vomeros which have good stability and great cushioning.

I rated these in post #6 when I first got them. I've since realized that this is not a true stability shoe because the upper and front part of the sole is just too soft, collapsing on impact, causing foot pain for me. Also, the arch support and front cusion built into the sole is a bit severe even t...

Long time Asics user. I thought I might try the Nikes since they felt pretty good when I tried them on. However after 3+ runs I did not like them because of the dead feel to them. I returned them today RRS store and received my new Kayanos. Thanks RRS for your guarantee!!

This shoe provided greater stability than I expected. It's performance remained consistent (soft/hard pavement) and comfortable running in it. I would recommend it to non-nike fans also. I just wish they have different colors/trail version versus just silver/navy for men. I would get another pair wh...

The heel to toe transition is not as good as I expected and also the heel is to high. All of these forced me to slow down on my runs. Cushioning is excellent.

The Equalon+2 has excellent cushioning. I weigh 225lbs and have worn many different brandds and none come close to the cushioning in this shoe. The only downside is that unlike the previous version that was to snug I believe they opened the toebox up to0 much. The shoe now has a soupy feel and pr...

5'8", 155lbs. I've run on Saucony Hurricaine 8's for several years but now that the Hurricaine 9's have a wider toe box I had look for something a little narrower. I had tried the previous Equalon but it felt like wearing platform shoes. This years Equalon is much improved compared the previous mode...

I'm a 6'0 210lb runner and used to run in Brooks Trance but decided to switch back to Nike. This was the best decision I could've made. This is by far the best running shoe I've run in. The Equalon+2 is the BEST shoe I have ever put on my foot. My feet are somewhat sensitive and get sore in a full stability shoe like my Brooks Adrenaline, but as a slight over-pronator I need some support. Nike has made a great combo of comfort and support in the Equalon+2. I also suffered from S...

Pros over equalon 1:lower heel, better fit, more flexible forefoot; Cons: not as stable, too soft for those needing more medial control. The cushlon ST midsole needs to be firmed up for those of us needing more control.
