Comments about Mens Nike Air Pegasus+ 25 Running Shoe:

Like some other unlucky runner reviewing above, I developed a stress fracture in my hip after using these bad shoes for 450km :((
I missed a marathon and it took me 6 weeks to recover.
When I begun training again, I was amazed to rediscover how good my retired Vomero 3 still were!
Imagine that: 1000km old Vomeros are much better than Pegasus 25 only 450km old!
I rotated a few times the bad Pegasus 25 with a new pair of Vomero 4 and the difference is huge!
Don't risk injuries, stay away from Pegasus 25.

Great shoes! I get about 10-15mi a week, i just completed my first 5k and they were perfect! In fact i just won my first race in these: it was 2.5mi, i won it in 15:52. They have just the right amount of support and cushioning for 5ks through half-marathons. I also run the mile and i ran a pr the first time i ran in these: 5:47. I have another mile race next month and with these shoes i will run 5:30 or better. 6'2'',125lbs. The Next Pre

definitely would not recommend this shoe. uncomfortable for any length run. i average 40+ miles/week. tried them out on a few runs, a week in between each, and had sore feet/legs every time thereafter. all other runs wearing the air moto +6 left me feeling fine, so i can only assume it was these shoes causing the problems. now i can't even find anyone to give them to... don't waste your time/money.

Nike how you have lost your way over the years. You used to make high quality running shoes. These Pegs can't compare to those of 20 years ago. I used to get 700 miles from a pair. Yes folks, 700 miles. Now I get at most 125. For twice the price. These Pegs gave me hip pain, something never experienced in 50 years of running.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Pegasus+ 25 Running Shoe:

I run 20-30 mi. / wk. Before I started, I went to a running store where I was fitted correctly. I'm not brand specific because I care more about injury prevention. I tried several brands in a neutral - they had a treadmill to test on which was very helpful. I chose the Peg because of the comfort, not the brand. I'd buy these again - they have been through a good running season and are holding up well. I'd buy another pair. All I can say is if you get shoes, go to a reputable running store first to get fitted.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Pegasus+ 25 Running Shoe:

Tried on a pair of these at the RoadRunner store in San Diego. The cushioning on them, fresh out of the box, was less than the worn out set of 2007 Pegs I wore into store. My feet really need the cushioning, even in regular walking. Otherwise I start having arch issues. Luckily, I found the 2007 Pegs in the Nike Store (they were having a "blow out the inventory" sale on them), so I ordered 4 of them. Hopefully, I can find another shoe with good cushioning before the 2007 Pegs wear out.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Pegasus+ 25 Running Shoe:

I've been running in Pegasus for about 15 years and as my weight has increased, I've found them to be softer. However, the Pegasus 25 allows my 205 lbs body to run in comfort again. I can appreciate the stiffer sole and yet they provide the best heel to toe transition of any Pegasus I've owned. If I were still 165 lbs, things might be different...but as is they're the best!

Comments about Mens Nike Air Pegasus+ 25 Running Shoe:

I've been wearing the Pegasus for the past 10 years and I find that the over all quality and wearability of the newest version of the Pegasus to be outstanding. I really appreciate the decreased weight of this version. I put in between 28-45 miles per week and have not had one issue. There is one draw back with all recent Nike models and that is the paper thin insole they come with. I find that I need to replace that with a third party insole, but otherwise I look forward to many more years of using this shoe.

The Air Pegasus is the most comfortable running shoe I can find. I run between 10-25 miles a week and also use them for all machines. The only draw-back I can see is the overall durability. They wear out in about 3 months but they let you know it by the hot spots you'll get. What I have done is rotate 2 pair and I get 6-8 months out of em. I would definatly recommend these shoes for one who is indecisive about purchasing online but do head the warning of "buy a half size larger.

Terrible shoes. Wish I could return them if I had the choice. I loved the older Air Pegs, but the new 25 model is absolutely horrible. Switched to Axics Gel (huge increase in comfort due to softer heal strike area) after what I beleive was heal problems due to the Air Pegs seemingly move to lighter overall shoe. Been running in Peg for years(average 30 miles a week), last 3 pairs have had insert slippage causing pleats at heal, very uncomforatable. Also have developed pain in heal area, seems to be less padding in heal strike area. seems like Nike is cutting costs by cutting quality. I'm switching brands after 15+ years brand usage.

It's an inexpensive trainer; it's not supposed to be a miracle shoe. I've thought the same thing about the 06 and the 07 as I do this one: it's a good shoe for my non-long runs. Decent mix of adequate cushion and responsiveness. I'd actually give it 3.5 stars if I could.

More nike junk.Thought i would give them another try.Big mistake, just another jacked-up heel nike.Like running on a wedge like all nike training shoes.Nike take your racing flats and spikes for pros.and build on that foundation, incorporate the support needed for the average runner,or even lack of support for the gifted, you will have a winner.Go back to your oregon roots when you had good shoes for everyone.

I supinate and wear orthotics. These shoes made me overpronate and caused medial knee pain. Also, the right shoe upper is cut too tight and blistered my foot. The 07 Pegasus left shoe was cut too tight and blistered my left foot. With Nike lately, you never get any consistent quality control. Seems you always get one good shoe, one bad shoe.Nike can do better.

So Happy Nike finally made the Peg alot lighter. Cleaner upper, carbon rubber outsole. Makes for a better, faster, responsive shoe. I personally don't like a soft shoe. One gripe I have is how can a shoe be responsive if the shoe is like a marshmellow. Some firmness has to be there to be responsive. So many shoes out there are WAY to soft. Good job Nike! Nice, solid trainer. I'm wearing the Skylon2 for uptempo training. Great shoe too!

Too Narrow? The Peg is still too wide..at least it is for me. To Bulky, bad heel toe transition. Can't stand the segmented heel. Ruins the smooth heel toe transition. Bye, Bye Nike!

I too would say this is overall a great shoe. My only issue is forefoot width as mentioned previously. I do not think the foot pain people are experiencing is from a lack of cushion. I think it is from the narrow forefoot not allowing forces to be distributed laterally. Might try the wide width. Maybe the Trail edition, the Special Edition and the Gore Tex addition will fit a little wider. Otherwise a light, stable and moderate cushion shoe with reasonable sole wear qualities.

Nice update. Lighter, more flexible, less overlays...Nike's done a superb job LISTENING to runners and adapting this shoe accordingly. My only "issue" is the volume of the shoe, it's a pretty low volume fit. Otherwise, this version is the best version in the last 3 years.

This version is easily the best of the last 3 years. It's lighter, softer and more flexible. The fit is slightly snugger which may bother some. Each year, no matter what, some people find a reason to hate the Pegasus but many more people like it. Nike is lucky people are so passionate about this shoe.

Long time peg user. The forefoot cushioning is way less than the 2007 pegs. I compared them side by side and you can visually see it is slimmer in the forefoot. I even tried inserts. These shoes hurt my forefoot. Sending back.

Yes, these shoes are really, really, bad. Ran 4 times-5miles per run-wound up with calf strain. Nike, either fix or kill the shoe.

I have worn out several pairs of the Nike Pegasus without problems. Wow, does the new model SUCK or what? I had to lay off running for 2 months because of pain in hip. Went to orthopedist for x-rays and drugs¿. Everything checked out fine. Went running again with these shoes and I had to crawl home. Waited a few days and ran in my old worn out Pegasus ----no problems. I don¿t know what Nike did but they sure ruined a good product.

Total mid foot discomfort. Why would even Lance Armstrong endorse these? Poor excuse for a shoe. Guess I will stick with my adidas adistar

The '07s were not good for me and I developed a serious hamstring problem at about 100 miles. I really enjoy using the "sport band" but if the +25 model breaks down I'll have to get serious about an Asics model. I'm at about 95 miles with +25s and so far so good, but I'm sensing a breaking down softness developing. I hope they last at least to 275 miles.

I really wanted these to be a better Pegasus. Simply stated, they're not. Nike laid a goose egg on these. Poor cushion, ok tread wear. Ok fit.

Being a Pegasus fan for years, I have seen various incarnations of the shoe. I bought them primarily for how much cushion they had. The '04 Pegasus was great, the '05 was not, the '06 was good, and I didn't try the '07. The current Pegasus lacks good cushion (especially in the forefoot).

Do 50+ a week. Tried these based on RRS recommendation. Great for first 2 weeks. Then they broke down and soles started to wear out excessively. I'll return to non-Nike shoes.

body frame is 150lbs/ 5feet 10 inch Good shoes, stable with adding support, cushioned not bulky .. NIKE vomero 3 is too mushy to me , I can't log long mile with vomero 3 but I can do with pegasus 25+ I want that pegasus will be more responsive cushioning like vomero. This shoes can be enough long mileage work horse...

I purchased these about a month ago. I have run about 100 miles in them. The cushioning is less than previous models even though it says full length airsole. The width is narrower too. I believe if Nike put as much effort into this shoe's design and comfort as Nike did promoting this model as a complete redo, then you'd have one heck of a great shoe. Nike can do one of two actions; redo it or stop making it.

I'm really fussy about my running shoes. I complained via phone and in writing to Nike about the deterioration of the Pegasus, especially the 07 shoes. The Nike rep told me to wait since the 08's are different. Are you kidding me? They're equal at best-worse at forefoot cushion and the heel counter is restrictive. I'm about to give up on Nike and I'm a faithful 20 year customer.

4 for overall ride, 1 for fit, 2 for comfort, 2 for cushioning, 1 for sizing, 2 for wearout factor. 2 overall. Nike can do better if it wanted to. Remember these are the best selling brand in Nike history.

Ran a 10k with these out of the box. Ok overall ride. Wasn't affected by the new arch plastic like other reviewers were. I question whether or not there truly is full length air sole. I supinate so these shoes exaggerate the supination. The wear pattern is about the same as the 06 model-figure I'll get about 150-200 miles out of a pair.

I loved the 2006 model. Hated the 2007. Tried the 2008, thought they'd be totally remodeled as promised by Nike. I'll run in them until they wearout but they're not what I expected.

First off, I'm not name brand driven, but buy what is right for me. I've been running for about 1 year now, since my son got involved in cross country, he's 7. I hated running until he got me involved, now I can't stop and am running 4 miles a day. I always wore department store running shoes and now understand the importance of getting fitted properly. This shoe is amazing! - for me though. We are all differnt runners so I'm not going to say you have to have this. I cut my time from a 9m mile to 8m. This shoe has made a big difference for me. It's lighter and offers good comfort for me. I choose this shoe because it felt better than the other brands I tried. Get fitted at a good store who know their product and type of pronation you have. Prevent your injuries ahead of time.

I've run in Pegs since the '80s. The 2007 model was a complete disaster. I believed Nike's hype for the "renovated" 08 edition. They're ok at best, another disaster at worst. I'm underimpressed.

This is the same basic Peg since the 05 model. Panned in 05, beloved in 06, full length air replaced by two air units for (Nike +) for 07 resulting in everyone hating it, now 08 they say it has full air, but no documentation for it or badging. You won't have the forefoot bulge, so it's a pretty sure bet they took out the front air, I still want one pulled apart to see if it's really full air. Anyway, the 08 is shorter by a centimeter, so less ankle support but faster. They increased the plastic arch support by 1/2 a centimeter (probably to compensate for loss of ankle support) so the show is stiffer. I don't pronate, and after one run it was obvious the shoe was causing me to suppinate, so I did some shoe surgery and cut out the plastic (I recommend the same to those of you neutral/high arch people). Someone here likes the waffle tread...it's basically the same tread except solid black, so no treadw wear indicators. With mod best since 04, without 1 star.

Plastic chunk on medial arch is not a good innovation. Cannot wear them because of this. I will stock up on the 2007 Pegs. I did notice the Moto 6 does not have the changed midfoot support and no plastic chunk, so I might give them a go for rotation.

Was really bummed with the way Nike messed with the good thing of the Vomero 2 in creating the 3...the plastic chunk under the arch, the "split" sole, the extra "support" in the midfoot.... And they just went and did essentially the same thing to the Pegasus. Really not happening for me. There's good innovation, and then there's...this kind of stuff, where the wrong things get altered. Don't find them wearable.

Great shoes, especially for the price. I'm 150 lbs neutral runner with a high arch and have run in Pegs on and off over the years. I had no interest in the heavier, overbuilt models of the past couple years. But I am pleasantly surprised by these. They are lightish but have a good blend of performance, cushioning, and support. The cushioning in not spongy like a few models back, but is not super firm either. More importantly, they work equally well on roads or trails, so my training routes aren't limited by my footwear. In fact, with the solid upper wrapping system and old school waffle tread, they are one of the better trail shoes I've ever owned...and I've been running trails since 1982. If they hold up, I'll buy a few pairs. I may need to put in a little arch support, but I have always had to do that, so I'm used to it. Wish they came with those foam arches and double sided tape like in the old days.

I have been running in pegs on and off since 80's. The 2000 and 2007 pegs were great for me. They raised the arch and put a big piece of plastic on the medial side on the +25 as they did for Vomero 3. Can't wear them because they bang my arch. I also tried using the cush runner inserts I had been using with the 2007 pegs. Nike can't leave a good thing alone. I will order a few 2007 pegs and try the Brooks Defyance. Maybe 2009 will be a good year for Pegs.

The Pegasus is back. Nice job Nike. MUCH improved over the 07. Old School waffle outsole and Nike sign on the tounge. Great upper and the weight has finally been reduced. Nike listened up on this one. They got it right! Going to order a few pair. This Peg will be a huge hit.
