Loved the shoe. I've always ran with Nike, and after running with the Frees, this is a nice change. Only downside is for the first two weeks I experienced pain around my Achilles. After that, I had no problem. I wear these shoes for my speed days, but for distance, I'd recommend the Lunar Glide.

Comments about Mens Nike LunarTrainer+ Running Shoe:

These shoes are awesome, usually run in the structure triax, or the zoom elite series that nike has, but I thought I would gamble and go for these shoes. They were meant to be used as a shoe to walk in, but I decided to try them out on the road and trails. They are awesome on road, and ok for trails of course, because they do not have great traction. However, I have ran 7 miles at the most in these shoes, and I usually have ITB problems or my legs get tight, and I guess the sole compensates for those problems. I am a college runner, and I recommend people to try this shoe. To bad nike does not make a trainer with structure for the foot, and lunar soles.

Swing and a miss.
I don't find its cushioning to feel markedly different from other trainers. Indeed, I don't find it all that cushiony. Also it is not as flexible as appears. The overall feel is "flappy" as you strike pavement. As many have said, the toe box feels cramped and confining. Definitely size up if you are going to get this. Problem is, if you size up, your foot might move around in the shoe a bit too much as you run. Overall, I don't think I'd buy it again. I'd be more inclined to buy one of the more cushioned racers (like Saucony's Fastwitch) for my training.
Hey Nike! Bring back the Terra TC and/or Triax TC. What's your obesession with killing off great shoes?

Great shoe! Probably the best I have ever worn. I am 6'0", 187lbs. Excellent cushioning for everyday wear, despite the light weight. Like running on clouds. Sole is wide, providing stability. Only complaint is the shallow toe box. The length is right, but toes scrape the top. This would not stop me from buying these shoes again because everything else is so comfortable.

5'9" 190lbs Overpronator. I use these to walk around in. These are the best walking shoes I have ever put on my feet. Awesome cusion, wide enough, and they are super light! If only they colored them with non-smack-your-momma colors.

These shoes are awsome. I'm a light weight runner, with no correction needed for shoe type. The LunarTrainer is a soft, light weight trainer, just what I like. If you like a soft shoe, and have a neutral foot strike, these shoes are great! I love them, I bought 2 pairs.

This is for sure one of the best shoes ever.I took about 10 years off from running. Started running again and tried numerous pairs of shoes, but kept giving me calf and knee problems. Shoe fitting stated I was a stability, didnt work for me. Thought I would try the Lunar, its solved all my problems. I need to add very minor arch support, but very cushy, I can run many miles more and faster recovery times. Buy it, best shoe out there for the price!

I have been wearing Nikes since 1980. My first pair was the orginial Eagle racing flat ( gray and black ). Over the years I have had shoes like the Vortex, Air Max Light squared, The orginial Skylon from 1990, etc. The Lunar Trainers are one of the best shoes I have ever worn from Nike. Light, cushioned, and responsive. I have 2 pairs that I primarialy wear on the treadmill for tempo runs. They are great. I am going to buy a few more before they all disappear. If you like light, responsive cushion, and a tapered fit you will love these shoes.

Comments about Mens Nike LunarTrainer+ Running Shoe:

Toebox is very shallow which made me go a half size up. As far as the actual running dynamics of the shoe, it is very light and responsive and surprisingly has enough stabilty for a sub 9.0 oz trainer (size 9.5). I did a 9 mile run (8:00 pace) on concrete and the comfort was quite nice. I highly recommend this shoe if you're a midfoot striker or have neutral feet.

By Joseph

from Undisclosed

Comments about Mens Nike LunarTrainer+ Running Shoe:

The cushioning is amaizing! It really does feel different than any shoe out there, light, springy and really great on the knees. The problem is the durability, I have had the Lunar trainers for 5 weeks and run 150 miles. The cushioning is about dead in the forefoot and there is a crack forming in the bottom of the sole in the middle betweent the big toe and first little toe. The rubber heel pads have also completely worn through. I understand shoes wear out, but that?s pretty fast for a "trainer". I am sending them back to Nike hopefully for a replacement. I ordered a more conventional shoe, the Zoom Equalon + 3 from Road Runner and I will try and return the lunars when the new shoes arrive.
So if you plan to use yours for training? remember their durability limitations.

I would really like to give this shoe a good review but I can't. I have been running in Nikes since 1984 and I've always worn 9.5, so I didn't think about the sizing when I ordered them. The toe box is really small, to the point where I don't wear them at all. I tried removing the insoles ala POSE but they are still a little small. I'm going to buy a size 10 and hope that solves the problem, they seem to be nice shoes.

I tried the shoe on and it felt great. I was able to tell immediately that the cushioning system was nice. The first time I ran in them, I ran about 6 miles. After about 5 miles I could feel the back of my ankle/heel stinging and could feel that the shoe was cutting my skin in the back. After the run, I had a gash in the back of the ankle. I have never had a problem like this with any shoe. Strange. I will not be running in this shoe. Brooks! Saucony! The way to go.

One of the best shoes I've ever run in. Toe box is SHALLOW, so you might have to size a full size up. It is light, responsive, and very cushioned. I believe that if your are a heel striker, you will love this shoe. Note that the last is VERY curved. Try before you buy. If your foot fits the shoes, then you have one of the best neutral trainers out there. Not only if Nike makes the soles in something other than NEON green. Ugh.

Comments about Mens Nike LunarTrainer+ Running Shoe:

You really should try these on before buying. I would've gone a 1/2 size up on my right foot b/c the toe box liner is touching my big toe nail. You'll see if you get them a little too small. If you can get a perfect fit then you'll love them. They're very light, breathable, and the cushioning is well...interesting. It's really nice, but clearly a different material. Despite my little issue with the right foot I've gone on a couple 7mi runs with no real problems. If I had a perfect fit they'd be 5 stars for sure.

Well, my right foot's fairly happy. My left foot, however, doesn't seem to exactly take kindly to the Nike+ Sensor pocket in this model no matter what insole I try.
Expect they'd be keepers at least for speedwork and shorter races without the plastic pocket. Don't know that including it in a shoe like this -- light, and facilitating midfoot and forefoot striking -- is the best idea in the first place, but maybe it's just me(?). Oh well. Left foot vetoes.

By Kini

from Undisclosed

Comments about Mens Nike LunarTrainer+ Running Shoe:

250 miles so far. Cushioning is the best of any neutral shoe I've tried. Light, repsonsive, great support for the arches. 2 issues that keep them from a 5. There is a lining inside the shoe's toe. This lining rubs the outside of my right big toe, causing blisters/callouses. The other issue is the toebox is very shallow. So even though the shoe fits width wise you need to size them up 1/2 to a full to keep your toenails from getting smashed. They may be to wide then. Also they take a LONG time to dry.
If they fit you, they are the best LW neutral shoe on the market.

Don't know that including it in a shoe like this -- light, and facilitating midfoot and forefoot striking -- is the best idea in the first place, but maybe it's just me(?). Oh well. Left foot vetoes.

Wow. Just WOW!! Unreal cushioning..and stability!!! The shoe is silent when it strikes the ground. I have run tempo 8 miler, interval 5 miler, and 6 mile easy recovery run... all amazing.

GIVE THIS SHOE A CHANCE! Even though it looks way funky, trying this shoe out can be a huge benefit to your training. The cushioning is incredible. I only use this shoe for up-tempo/track workouts but its way nice.

I am giving this shoe five stars based of my experience thus far. I have completed two runs in the Trainers and have found them to work very well in the middle distances (8-12 mi). Tomorrow's 18 miler will be a good test but I can tell you from a 10 mi uptempo run early this week that this shoe is more responsive than you would think. While it feels very spongy walking around they do firm up a bit once you start running. This could very well be the new staple in my shoe rotation. More to come...
