I generally do not buy or run in Nike but I figured I would give it a try for the price - and I was very surprised at the cushion/support offered in this shoe! They also feel very light on my foot. My only complaint would be that I wear an 11 and these seem to be slightly smaller, as far as length, as an 11 in say an Asics, Saucony, or Brooks.

Finally, no hip problems due to running and no toenails turning black from lack of room! Yay Nike!

I am a tall thin runner with narrow heels and a wide forefoot. The Triax 11 worked great for me. However the 12's seem to be more wide all over which gives a very sloppy feeling when running/walking. I tried different socks and lacing the shoe differently to make these shoes fit better but nothing worked. I'm sending them back and skipping the 13's since it's the same shoe only more cushion. Nike... please go back to a narrow heel and midfoot and wide toe box!

Loved and ran in several pairs of Triax 10 and 11 but this one just didn't make the cut. My left foot started falling asleep on Mile 5 and I thought it was just me until I read other reviews here. Looks like I'll have to return the shoes :(

Love, love, love this shoe! I had 3 pair of the 11's, and just recently got the 12's. I am so glad they come in the wide width- they fit my foot perfectly! Tried the Vomeros, but they were too cushioned (read"unstable"), so I'm back to my tried and trues.

Hey ladies that extra feeling under ball of foot is called a ball of foot cushion.Nike used to have it in the airmax moto 5 and took it out in the 6 and 7 which was a mistake. Its really awesome if you can get used to it!

Go WIDE. I bought this shoe in a 9.5 and went out for a run. my toes went numb and the shoes felt "hard" on my feet. I changed them for a 9.5 wide and they feel just like they're supposed to feel.

Almost immediately, my toes went numb during my run. The length and width of the toe box is not the problem. I assume that the cushioning for the ball of the foot is the problem. I have an older version of this shoe that I love.

I loved theses shoes at first. But as I ran in them, it felt like I was running on a bump in my forefoot. It didn't feel painful, but it definitely wasn't comfortable. I couldn't wait to take them off when I got home. Not sure if I need to break them in more, but I didn't have this problem with my Brooks Adrenaline.

These shoes fit. There was no "break-in"time needed. Good stability. Great cushioning. I have completed 7 marathons using this shoe and have had no complaints.

I also experienced the forefoot cushioning issue as described below. Except I do have the pink model and still noticed it. Left foot was great but after a mile my right foot was cramped up and my toes were numb. Ran in them a couple more times= same problem. Loved the 10s and 11s and I am sad to be unable to use these. sending them back.

Had been running 6 miles in agony. Took these out of the box and ran 8 miles and felt much better! Very comfortable, especially if you need room in front.

It was interesting to read the other reviews. I had been running in the Triax 11s for a year and after 4 runs in the new 12s, developed peroneal tendonitis in my right foot and have been off running for 6 weeks. Definitely unhappy!

took them out of the box and ran 9 miles in them. No problems with cushioning or fit! Surprisingly comfy shoe.

I loved the Triax 11 for my Daisy Duck feet that have bunions. I do not like this shoe because there is some weird cushioning in the heel. In addition, my left bunion hurts more when I run with these shoes. I do not like them!

Yes....there is something odd about the cushioning on the ball of the right shoe. Is there some kind of crash pad issues? And why just on the Right shoe? Makes for a very uncomfortable ride. I don't know what to say. I'm going to try a different insert on my next run to see if that helps.

I was pleasantly surprised at the fit and feel of this shoe. I am a low mileage runner, usually 3-6 miles at a time. I have used Brooks Adrenaline/Trance for 7 years and loved them. the body of this shoe conforms better to my not quite but almost wide foot. No problems with pain, sleeping toes...feels a little less cushioned than my brooks but for half the price I can deal. I'll by an extra pair for sure!

Wed, May 20,2009:
ha! these 1 stars are crazy! This shoe is amazing! I am an overpronator with low arches who was having horrible knee and hip problems. I wore brooks which was nice in support but had ridiculous cushioning, i felt like i was wearing a geriatric shoe and i couldn't feel the ground i was walking on. I also tried Adidas but they were too wide. this shoe is absolutely PERFECT! people probably feel like isn't enough support because you can actually feel the ground when you run! LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT! when i used to run cross country i would always wear Nike's. I should have never switched!

Tue, May 19,2009:
This shoe has a very comfortable fit for my long and narrow foot. The laces don't irritate the top of my foot and, when tied properly, I don't have issues with my heel slipping out. It also, along with the blue superfeet inserts, supports my low arch well. However, the cushioning is horrible. I've only put about 100 miles on the shoes, and I've been battling shin splints for about half of them. I'm going back to Addidas Supernovas.

This is a great shoe! I love the cushioning in the forefoot and heel. It has great support. I am planning on running the Boston marathon in this shoe!

I've worn the Structure Triax for the last 5 years and loved them until the +11. They are narrower and the toe box depth smaller. Tried to break them in but finally gave up. Why can't Nike leave a good thing alone. I'm giving the Equalon a try.

Cushioning is terrible in this shoe. Had to return them after running in them for two painful weeks. Never had a pair of Nikes I didn't like until now.

I also agree with Ann on the forefoot cushioning issues. At the store it felt great because of the carpet so that is kind of tricky. I was not happy with this shoes so I had to return it. I have rwo pairs of +11, love it.

disappointing! bring back the 11s!!! i had to return them. i only had them for about a few weeks and could not break them in. I felt like i was running on the ground. minimal support although the fit was great in-store. i do not recommend at all.

Thu, February 12,2009:
I agree on the forefoot cushioning issues. My first pair felt like I had a wadded up tissue under my right forefoot. Tried for a month to break em in and eventually gave up. I got a different pair (pink, this time), and they feel great! Great fit--especially the arch wrap, solid support, and good cushioning without feeling mushy. Maybe Nike's having quality control problems?

Don't know what to think about the Structure Triax 12 yet. Have been running in this shoe for 10+ years. These shoes have a great "fit" at first. Give it 5 stars for fit. Was really excited to run in them initially. Have had a big problem with lack of cushioning under the ball of the foot. Although, has gotten a bit better each time I run? Maybe b/c I'm focusing more on my form? Or maybe these shoes just need to be broken in a little? Have only had one other pair of A.S. Triax that I had to break in...great shoe once I did break them in..?

Great shoes at first, but after a couple of miles, the extra cushion under the ball of the foot made my toes fall asleep. Sadly, I had to return them.
