Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

great shoe, I have bunyons on both feet and these shoes fit my feet perfectly. The design that gives where my bone structure is formed is impressive and I have had no pain. I wasn't a nike fan for years but these shoes have held up and worn really well. I am ordering my third pair today. If you have foot issues give these a try.

Predisposing factors for ...

By Foot dR.

from Undisclosed

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

Predisposing factors for the development of IT band inflammation include training error and abnormal biomechanics. Some runners make the mistake of only running on one side of the road. Most roads are higher in the center and slope off on either side. The foot that is on the outside part of the road is therefore lower than the other. This causes the pelvis to tilt to one side and stresses the IT band.

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I have been running since October of 2009- training for a Marathon. Shortly after I finished my first marathon, my shoes died! I was remiss to try a different brand, but with RoadRunner's 60 day guarntee, I was eager to try. I came from Asics and I LOVE my Nike Vomero+4! They are very comfortable on long runs. I do have orthotic inserts that were mede custom for me at RoadRunner in Columbus,OH. So far I have put in probably about 100 miles on my shoes and I am way excited about them - STILL! Great Neutral Shoe!

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I'm torn on reviewing these shoes. They are soft and cushy, for sure. I have high arches and run bio-mech correctly. I liked them alot for short 5milers until I ran a 13miler yesterday. My ankles and hips are super painful....pain I never had with my Asics Cumulus even on halfers. I took them back to RRS and they, as wonderful as they are, let me xchange them for the Nimbus (the membership is SO worth it).

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I'm a Saucony wearer convert . . . the only brand I've worn since my running career began 21 years ago. When I read the description about Nike Vomero Zoom +4 in Runner's World, after nursing bunion pain from a run, I ordered them right away. By far the most comfortable running shoe I'v ever worn . . . like running on a cloud of air. I have a wide foot, so its nice to have that option when placing an order. The end result is that my bunion friction is greatly reduced to non-existent (depending on the foot). I highly recommend this shoe.

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I have slightly wide forefoot, average width heel, and I supinate. I'm on my 3rd pair of Vomeros (second pair of +4s), and I'm very happy with them. The toe box is wide enough to accomodate my feet comfortably. I've worn them for distances in excess of a HM without any problems.

I've run in these and Asics Gel Nimbus. I just had my first jog in the Nike's and they felt great! I have deformed feet from years of figure skating and they are very narrow size 10. No complaints here. I need cushion because I weigh 195 and I'm 5'4". Hopefully running will lighten me up!

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I purchased these after I kept getting knee and ankle pain with the 4 different Nike Shocks I have. I went to a running store and they recommended the Vomero for me. I have a large frame and do steady state longer distance runs as well as sprint/interval training running workouts. I am also an underpronator and this shoe helped greatly with correcting this. As soon as I slipped these shoes on they fit my feet like a glove. The store recommended I go half a size up, but I purchased my normal size and they felt true to size. The cushioning on the shoe is absolutely amazing. It is one of the most comfortable running shoes I have ever worn. I just wish Nike would offer the other color in the stores except for just the pink (which I have) and the light blue. I would really like the yellow or purple chalk but it is only offered through Nike. Anyway, I highly recommend this shoe if you are an underpronator, larger runner or need phenomenal cushioning.

I love these shoes! I ususally run in the nimbus, but I think I prefer these. I haven't done more that 10k in them-would be interested to hear from those of you that have done longer distances in these. I am hoping to do at least a half marathon and possibly a full in them. I am a female, 41, 5feet 8 , 143 pounds. Run about 25/week. Have done a couple of halfs in nimbus-want to do a marathon in nov. 09. High arches, resolved right plantar fasciitis. right piriformis which is not too bad. Neutral.

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I have not worn Nike in over 15 years because they were always too narrow. The Nike Zoom Vomero is perfect for me. I have a high arch and so I naturally run on the outside of my foot--this shoe was suggested to me by the Roadrunner sales rep, Libby,(ask for her)and she was RIGHT!!! I love the cushion and my feet never felt numb during the breaking in stage. I hope this shoe never goes away. Finally a shoe that fits me PERFECT!!

I started running in the '70s and have been through a lot of shoes since. I'm a hard fit (high arch, wide foot, under pronotate, prone to shin splints). This shoe fits and feels (great cushion, roomy toe box) like a dream. I just completed a half marathon in the Vomero 4 (at age 60) without hip, shin, or knee discomfort, and it was the first time I never once "felt" my shoes. Too bad this shoes has been replaced. I'm now breaking in a pair of Vomero 5 and we'll see...

This year is my 4th time walking the Breast Cancer 3-Day/60 mile walk. It requires extensive training prior to the event. I have tried several different brands of shoes, but the Nike Zoom offers comfort and durability. I am on my 4th pair, and plan on more. If you have a heavy but neutral step, I highly recommend this shoe.

The Vomero +4 is an excellent running shoe. We use them on the trail, on the road, and on the track, for training. We have days where we distant train, and other days where we do sprints. Either day these shoes are the best for our feet. We use them with our orthodics with and without the inserts of the shoe. I'm glad we've got several pairs in our house so we alternate every other day. Road Runners online, and in the store is where we purchased our shoes!

Comments about Womens Nike Zoom Vomero+4 Running Shoe:

I have really high arches that cause problems when I run and pretty much constant pain in the ball of my foot. When I recently started running again, I quickly realized that I needed shoes with more cushioning than the trusty New Balances I had been wearing to the gym. Bought these based on a recommendation in one of the fitness mags -- they were recommended as the best cushioned shoe for high arched feet.

They are nice shoes - they are cushiony and my feet, knees and back can definitely tell the difference between them and my cheaper NB's. I normally wear a women's 7.5 and that is the size I ordered after trying them on in a local store. Alas, after running in them a couple months, it seemed like they were really bothering my toes - squishing them a bit and almost causing an "ingrown toenail" kind of feeling. I ordered an 8 to replace them but the 8 feels a bit sloppy (but isn't hurting my toes). I'm hoping to find an insert or thicker sock or something that will give me the perfect fit. Other than the funny sizing (never had a problem with any other brand of running shoe), I really like this shoe -- it's hard to find something cushiony enough for my oddball feet and these definitely fit that bill.

I love these shoes, they are so comfortable and have super cushioning. They are the only Nike shoes that feel good on my feet. I have suffered from plantar fasciitis and the cushioning on these shoes really help. I use them for street and trail running. I do find they run big compared to my normal shoe size.

I wear these to the gym everyday and couldn't be happier. This is my second pair which I purchased primarily for running on the treadmill and on the road, but now I wear them for everything. I have knee issues and these shoes absorb the impact when running. Very comfortable, sufficient arch support (but I wear support inserts). Love the colors and design.

This is my fourth pair of Nike Zoom Vomeros, and I wouldn't run in anything else. I have tried other shoes, but always come back to this one. If Nike ever discontinues this shoe, it would be horrible. True to Nike it runs about a 1/2 size smaller than your true shoe size, so buy 1/2 a size larger. The toe box is nice and roomy, and the laces are plenty long to double knot. A good neutral, cushioning shoe. I have run one marathon, and two half marathons in the Nike Vomero. The price from Roadrunner was fantastic, almost half of what it would have been at a local sporting goods store, [...] I couldn't ask for anything more!Well maybe one thing, I wish it came in a trail running version. It is a bit soft for running on the trails.

Predisposing factors for the development of IT band inflammation include training error and abnormal biomechanics. Some runners make the mistake of only running on one side of the road. Most roads are higher in the center and slope off on either side. The foot that is on the outside part of the road is therefore lower than the other. This causes the pelvis to tilt to one side and stresses the IT band.

great shoe, I have bunyons on both feet and these shoes fit my feet perfectly. The design that gives where my bone structure is formed is impressive and I have had no pain. I wasn't a nike fan for years but these shoes have held up and worn really well. I am ordering my third pair today. If you have foot issues give these a try.

This is the second pair I bought (this time in the Livestrong yellow! yay!) and now I know this is MY SHOE! I guess I got lucky the first time because it was my first serious running shoe. When they wore out (started having a little knee pain so I knew) I decided to buy locally and got some Asics Nimbus 11's. WOW. I had aches and pains all over after 3 runs. I felt like I didn't want to run at all and really regretted buying something different. Quickly replaced those with a new pair of Vomero 4s and just ran last night in them. Awesome! Cushy, supportive, just so comfortable! In the asics my toes were numb after 5 minutes, in these I'm pain-free! I went half a size up from my normal street shoe as most have said. I don't have wide feet but appreciate the roomier toe box. Nothing's constricted. LOVE MY VOMEROs!

I just retired my 4th pair of Gel Nimbus and was ready for a change--Now I am wondering why the heck did I wait so long. These shoes are truly awesome. No pain at all (which is not normal for me). I followed the advice of others and ordered 1/2 size up (as opposed to 2 FULL sizes up for the Gel Nimbus and I got the wide shoe b/c they evidently run narrow. I feel like I have never had a properly fit running shoe until now.

Jogging 4 miles a day 3x a week, and this shoe is still holding up after 4 months, which is rare for me. Wish the price would drop. :)

These do not disappoint, they fit just like the 3 but have a little more cushioning. I haven't done a long run in them yet, but for my quick 5k today they were great!

There are 2 things that I would change about this shoe: 1) the tongue is too short 2) the lacing system has 1 loop to the outer side and makes it difficult to lace the shoe(s) in the manner that I like. As far as the fit, comfort, and cushion, I am very pleased. As long as Nike does not change them, I will continue to but them.

These shoes are terrible. I have always run in Nike's, but have always had Air Max's, which I've never had a problem with. I decided to try these instead because of the great reviews they got, but that was a mistake. I am a middle distance runner, and run about 30 miles a week, and have never had a problem with Air Max's, but within a week of wearing these, I got a stress fracture in my foot, and my legs were always sore. I will never buy these again, and since buying a new pair of Air Max's instead, I have had no problems.

I've switched back to my old shoes (which give me now pain) until I can find the right pair.

The Vomero 4 does not have the cushioning of the older Vomeros. The balls of my feet and my toes are burning 2 miles into every run. I will not buy the Vomeros again.

Don't be fooled by the cushion, buyer beware of these shoes! Still rehabbing my IT band 4 months later.

I recently had a run of bad luck with two different shoes (Brooks Axiom 3 and Asics Gel Enduro 4), both of which I only used for about 1-2 months. They were horrible. I was nervous about trying the Nike Zoom Vomero, as I had never tried them before. But after I received them and ran in them, I knew that they were the best shoes that I have ever had. The cushioning is perfect. I am 20 years old, 5'7" and 125 lbs. I would definately recommend these to anyone!

This shoe enables me to finally go the distance without the pain(lower back). The cushioning is outstanding! I feel like I could run forever in these shoes! I am ordering my 3rd pair! Kudos Nike!

These are great shoes. This is the first toe box that actually feels good on my feet. No problems the first time out. Lots of cushioning. Wearing better than my Asics. I'm ready to order another pair!

Finally, Nike has made a shoe that's wide enough I can wear. :) I like the large toe box and it is amazing how light it feels for the amount of cushioning. I didn't think the toe box was enormous, but just right. Had been using Gel Kayanos & trainers, but the newest trainer had narrowed the toe box and hurt. Go figure.

Love, Love, Love the Vomero 4, had the 3 but these are cushioned quite well, love the wider toe box....can run miles in these. I always used the Nimbus, but running long distance in them caused blisters and black toes.....Can totally run a half and marathon in these.....Nike hats off to you....Fantastic shoes!!!

I was really hoping this shoe would work out because it had such great reviews. It is certainly very light and very cushioned, which I liked. But the shoe itself is really wide, with an enormous toe box. The result is that, with all that extra room on the sides, I got bad blisters on the sides of my feet after a 3 mile run. Trying to adjust the fit with the laces did not help. Maybe if you have wide feet this is a good shoe, but it's not good for anyone with narrow, low-volume feet. I'm sending them back and going back to Asics.

I have medium feet, and my forefoot absolutely swam in them. Couldn't even think about trying to run in them. Probably a great shoe for wide feet but definitely not for the average foot.

ILOVE this shoe. I've tried several others and found them to cause tingling in my toes or hot spots on my little toe. Not the Vomero. The shoes is nice and wide, cushiony, and provides a lot of stability. It is also light weight. I am on my third pair and will stick with them.

I am SO picky about my shoes but have found a winner. I wore the Vomero 3's and liked them but the heel slipped a bit. My heels are snug in the 4's and it feels like there is more room in the toe box. Wore them for 12 miles right out of the box. Wonderful!

Neutral.

Light and very cushioned at the same time, and my back ache want away after the first few days, I never attributed that to my other shoe before but now I am sold.Great shoe.

Have been searching and trying shoes for over a year. Loved the stability of Asics although the heel always slips, but also always have shin pain in Asics (2140 and 1140). Had gone from stability shoe post injury to neutral shoe - at best found a Brooks shoe that worked for while but feet and calves always bothered me in those. I tried the Nikes on an indoor track and wasn't too impressed but wound up taking them outside today and NO SHIN, ANKLE, ACHILLES, CALF PAIN - NOTHING! No lower back/sciatic discomfort either. Finally found THE shoe! The forefoot is a little wide for me but the heel fits great and is also quite comfy on the bursitis. They did well in the pouring rain - dry, light and comfy.

Finally found the shoe. Tried several other brands. I had never ran in a Nike before. In other brands my heel was not snug and my forefoot was too snug, but these seem to fit my feet perfect in those two areas. They are very soft and cushioned - although they are not mushy. Great shoe, I should have known Nike knows what they are doing.

I have been searching for shoes to accomodate my wide feet. After trying on numberous pairs of running shoes and returning about 4 pairs (and getting stuck with 2 other pairs) someone at the Nike booth at the Pittsburgh Expo introduced me to these shoes. The Vomero's are built specifically for wide women's feet, for bunions even. I really like these shoes. Did an 8 miler out of the box. Now I finally can start training for my upcomming 1/2 and full marathons without putting up with ill-fitting running shoes.

Have battled shin splints for almost two years. Within a week of changing to the Vomeros, I am symptom free. Very cushy, not too floppy in the front. Ran 20 without problems yesterday. Runs about a half-size smaller than my old Mizunos. Able to fit my orthotics, too!
