Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: Great running shoe

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: These shoes are great, but not for running. I am a trainer, so on my feet all day, and they're super comfortable after a long day. However, the material is the biggest downfall. They're not breathable, so they smell, and the material is stretchy. So, when trying to plant my feet, my toes feel like they're going to break through the front... Same thing happens when running downhill.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: I have been a runner for over 20 years, but recreationaly only since HS. I have had many injuries (planer, akles, etc). I currently wear orthodics with my Nike Air Max, and I have been a Air Max user my whole time. I decided to try these out, without my orthodics. I limited my first run to .5 miles, and then switched out to my normal trainers with my orthodics for anoher 1.7 miles. I had no soreness or problems. A week later, I tried again, but this time did 2 miles on these shoes. this was probably a bit too much. I have some minor soreness. I will step down to 1 mile, and try that a few times to build up the strength in my feet and legs.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: Like others, I have also used several models of Nike Free in the past and switched to the 3.0 about a year ago. It is a snug fitting shoe, so try one on to make sure you know the right size before you buy. I like to run with very thin socks, which helps. This shoe is extremely flexible and very light and will help you with mid-foot running if you're trying to get up off you heels. Ease your way into them, increase your mileage slowly if your converting from a more supportive shoe. In the end, they will help you improve your form and strengthen your feet, and in the long run, actually prevent injury. After the transition, they are now my shoe of choice.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: These shoes are very deceiving. They are extremeley comfortable, but it comes at a price. If you run any distance with steep hills then you can expect some blisters. Same with many lateral movements since the shoe top is basically spandex that allows the foot to move from side to side quite a bit causing friction. These shoes are good for crossfit, but will cause some problems with lateral movements as the foot slides/moves in the shoe. The top is perfect for the beach as it doesn't let sand in, but the groves on the bottom collect sand and rocks, which leads to irritation over time. Also the top design on the shoe begins to seperate and fall apart quickly.
Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: Nike has just killed this shoe, the sole is rigid and at times inflexible and the upper shoe is tight. In fact, so tight that I had to stop wearing because my right ankle began to hurt. Yes, I purchased the correct size. If you loved the previous models, then this is not the shoe for you. It has nothing in common with its predecessors.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: i've owned every version of nike frees, and this one is the best, imo. my only gripe, as others have noted, is that they are not breathable at all. have run a couple of half marathons in them now and used them for most of my long runs for the past couple of months, and if it's hot outside at all my feet end up pruney and even occasionally blistered. it looks as though nike has addressed this issue in the latest version.

Best Uses Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: Seven years ago after two achillies injuries I almost left my running career to cycle instead. I realized that running on grass barefoot was the only thing that was comfortable, at the same time Nike was cming out with a new shoe the NIKE FREE, so I gave thema a shot. Since middel of 2005 I ahve been wearing Nike Free's exclusively and most importantly Injury Free and at the age of 42, running faster than when I was 34.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: I've run two 8 milers and a 2 miler in these so far and my only complaint is that they make my feet HOT. I don't know why I thought they wouldn't - afterall, the outer material looks like leather or fake leather (pleather, etc.) except for the little designs, which are made of a nylon material. I wear pretty thin/breathable socks so I'm sure it's not my socks.

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: I loved my original Nike Free Plus shoes. I did not like the Plus 2 shoes at all as they seemed a step in the wrong direction (i.e., away from being minimalist . . . they felt bulkier, heavier, and had more material). I read that the Plus 3s were designed with a separate tongue and I thought "here we go, leave it to Nike to get a visit from the good idea fairy and incorporate all sorts of things people don't want in a shoe" (i.e., ruin a good thing like they've done with the old Torches and several other shoes of theirs that I've loved and then hated post-change). So - loving my Nike Free Plus originals - I wanted something that looked more like the original. Thus, I switched over to the Free 3 v4 - which looked like the original Free Plus in the picture and at least still had the integrated tongue and light weight/less material design. The 3 v4s are light-weight, but the toe box is tight and the material is some weird space-aged stuff that reminds me of an '80s era pleather coat. If Nike would have just made the upper out of cloth (which has worked fine for many shoes for many years) and not decided to make a minimalist shoe tighter instead of less restrictive - especially since the whole point of a minimalist shoe is to feel like it's not there (i.e., not restricting your toes to a tight claustraphobic area), I think they'd have a winner. I checked the boxes for "true to size" and "feels too narrow" to indicate that the length is true to size, but the toe box is restrictive. So bottom line: I'm still wearing my 2 year old, 2,000+ mile, original Nike Free Pluses which I bought back in August of 2010 until I can find something better . . . thanks Nike. Please bring back the original Free Plus (but let's face it - you're not gonna).

Comments about Mens Nike Free 3.0 v4 Running Shoe: If Nike would have taken the upper from the V3 and put it on the sole of the V4 this would be a perfect marriage! The upper is supposed to be a stretch type material but with just wearing on the couch watching TV the upper at the bottom of the tongue caused my toes to go numb.
