Great cushioned show

5

I've worn the vomero since version 3. I'm slightly bow legged and strike very hard on my heel and outside of my foot. The vomero has great cushioning and is really comfortable. I normally wear an 11.5 in shoes, but wear a 12 in the vomero. I ran 30 plus miles a week for years in the air Pegasus. As I aged, I needed more cushioning and moved to the vomero. Had happy feet ever since!

Great upper, cushion needs work.

4

I owned 2 pair of these shoes. I bought the second pair shortly after the first couple runs I did and overall I am happy with the shoes. I have logged around 300 miles on each pair. I love this upper. A great improvement over the vomero 7s. The vomero 7s seemed to have an oversized toe box area. I love the feel of the upper on the 8. It really hugs your foot the way a running shoe should and keeps your foot centered on the sole. The tongue is an area that has limited padding so you have to sort of dial in how tight you tie your shoes. The cushioning is an area I feel this shoe needs improvement. I have worn these on many long runs and I feel really beat up when I hit around the 9 mile mark. I also notice the lack of cushion on descents. The shoe feels like it completely compresses which causes me to adjust my stride and how I am landing. I am not heavy heel striker but for those that are or are heavier runners, I do not think this shoe for you. My specs: 6'2'' 175 neutral step, moderate heel striker, high arches. 20-40 miles a week.

Performance better each version, but not durability

4

I use these shoes primarily as my running shoes, but they look great so once they wear out I use them as a causal shoe. I've been using these since the Vomero 3, and each time they get lighter and more comfortable. Version 4 was the best combination of light, comfort and long term durability. Unfortunately from version 5 on the durability has only gotten worse. This shoe is great for the first 120 to 150 miles, and then only good for runs less than 10 miles for the next 50 to 80 miles. Once you get past 200 miles on the shoes they are only good for runs less than 5 miles. Past 300 miles you can't run in them anymore without risk of injury. 300 may sound like a lot of miles, but the average running shoe is easily good for 400-500 miles before wearing out. I keep buying them because they are great in all aspects other than durability. I have to rotate them with other shoes to get a season of use out of them. So....great shoe as long as you don't expect long use out of them.

Horrible! Nike ruined the Vomero!

1

I'm a 30-40 mile/week runner. My first Vomero was the 4 and I've had 11 pair of Vomeros from the 4 through the 7. Some I liked better than others (LOVED THE 6 THE MOST!) but this redesign is an EPIC FAIL!! Where has the cushioning gone? The first time I wore the 8 was for a 6 mile run. Less than 1/2 mile in I could feel my shins starting to hurt. Then came the knee pain. I NEVER get shin splints but after that first run in the 8 I came down with a horrible case of shin splints. After 5 weeks of recovery and transitioning back into my 7's I gave the 8 another try. Same thing! Shins splints/shooting knee pain. They are horrible!!! Nike, PLEASE stop 'Improving' your shoes! If it isn't broken....don't fix it! The call to Nike customer service and the lack of customer service received solidifies that this will most likely be my last pair of Nikes. Total fail.

Bring back the cushioning, like Vormero6

1

I've used Vormero since 2007, the past two versions 7 and 8 are way too stiff/rigid and have lacked the cushioning feel associated with the past versions. My feet were aching after running in these versions of the shoe, they're horrible shoes. The last good version was the Nike Vormero 6, which I purchased several and am still training in. Why does Nike always do this to a (formerly) great shoe and end up ruining it? Nike did this during the late eightires and into the early nineties with the former Nike Air Skylon and Air Mariah, which were initally great and were very cushiony and comfortable and then Nike proceeded to make them way to stiff and ruined the shoes! Please fix the Vormero, like they used to be!

SUPER CONFY

4

Although this particular nike shoe is very comfortable, unlike the nimbus 15, after 10k my feet start to feel tire, don´t know why, they just do. I would say according to other fellow runners that run with me every day who are using vomer 8 as well, that are very satisfy and don´t feel anything like I do. I bought a pair of pegasus a while a ago and first they felt rigid for running but now are very nice to run in them. Probably the cushlon has to loosen. I have put over 100 km into the vomeros and although are very cushioning, still make me feel tire. I love the looks of the shoe, will continue to use it and see what happens.

Excellent shoe for underpronator

4

After extended trail and error, believe Vomero is the best shoe I have found; my running traits - under pronate/ supinate, mid foot strike, looking for a truly neutral shoe. 185lbs, 25-35 miles per week. Have recently tried Asics Nimbus & Cumulus, but both have gel cushion in heel and forefoot on the outside of the sole, which exacerbates supination. Tried New Balance 1080 v2,3; good alignment but somewhat under cushioned for 185lb frame. After first 25 miles, Vomero has great cushion and neutral strike in mid and forefoot. Would be a perfect 5 if the heel strike design was neutral, not slanted to the outside edge.

Very good shoe for me

4

Really liked Vomero 6's and ordered a couple of pairs prior to the 7s being introduced. Heel cushioning is a priority for me due to plantar fasciitis and the Vomero 8+s seem to be as good as the 6s. I wish Nike would have kept the tongue webbing that the 6's had because it was great to step into the shoe and have the tongue stay in place without having to lace them up. I'm not a runner but I do put a few miles on the shoe each day walking and the 8s have a good cushion and arch while being fairly light. I would buy them again.

Comfort & good looks

4

This shoe is comfortable right out of the box. They are lightweight but perhaps a little to much. Although I have only worn them a short time they don't appear to be the type of shoe that will last. This is almost an unfair statement just my personal feeling. Time will tell. They are my first pair of Nike because Nike were always to narrow for me. I was told by the sales person that this is no longer the case with Nike. The width is fine. They are the type of shoe that you can leave on and wear with a pair of jeans.

Feels very different

4

I run almost exclusively on roads and some crushed stone running paths. The cushiioning in this shoe is very good. But the overall "feel" of the shoe is very different from the previous model. This version of the Vomero feels more like the Pegasus line -- which I like. The Vomero 7 felt a bit awkward & clunky to me which was never the case with the previous 6 versions. This shoe is is cushioned and flexible and a definite improvement over the Vomero 7.

I would buy again

5

I have been buying shoes form roadrunner since 2004. This company has gone above and beyond my expectation in quality and service. The customer service is a VIP service. Every pair of shoes I have gotten are 100% perfect every time. The vemaro 8 are a quality shoe. Average run for the day is 8 miles. It holds up to dirt, grass and pavement., and where ever I go. Can't say enough good about them.

Best running shoe for big guys

5

I never had to be concerned about running shoes until after 30. But now I am 6 feet and 220 lbs and I run about 15 miles per week. With previous shoes I was getting shin splints and achy feet. Now with the Vomero 6 and now the 7 it feels great. No shin splints Great comfort for a big muscular guy. The sole of the shoe underneath the ball of my foot tend to run out in about 6 months but the comfort of the shoe does not. A +++ Found shoes for life.

Nice Ride

4

I typically run 1000+ miles per year. I wore the Vomero consistently back in the Vomero 3 and 4 days. I did not enjoy the ride or look of the Vomero 5, 6 or 7, but the Vomero 8 has me back and liking them. They are light and cushioned. I have fairly narrow feet and like the room in the toe box. These shoes breathe very well. The soles on all of my Vomero's seem to wear more quickly than other shoes.

good shoe but take the cheap insert out

4

Every shoe that I buy, I remove the cheap insole and replace with a cushion type insole. Be sure to buy insole first then use them to try shoes on. In most cases you will have to go a size larger. I do not recommend to a friend as every foot is different. Important, if you have a normal gait then buy shoes for that purpose & stay away from the gadgets in shoes that supposedly helps pronators and supinators. You could possibly develop injuries.

When

1

The width was resized from 4e to 2e. Instep room lessened making this shoe very uncomfortable across the the top of the foot. I run 5K every other day on pavement. I have used Zoom Vomero in the past but must now leave the Nike line of shoes to get the wide fit in a neutral shoe. The Vomero 8 is lighter than earlier models and the color option (just one option) has changed as well.

Great replacement For Air Skylon lovers

5

After using Air Skylons for nearly twenty years, I tried many shoes as a replacement, including several Nikes, but since these all changed my gait a little, I was having chronic problems. The only reason I tried one more time with this shoe is that it was on sale, and it is so similar to my Skylons that I don't notice any difference. So if you miss Skylons, buy this shoe (preferrably on sale).

Like running with an old friend

5

I had Vomero's recommended to me when I started training for my first marathon. I have used other shoes but coming back to the Vomero has a very familiar and comfortable feel, it's like running with an old friend again! The cushion was what made the ride in this shoe always stand out but I really like the seamless design in the new Vomero 8.

Great Shoes

5

I'm a walker not a runner 6'3" 260 lbs so these shoes are great because they have lots of cushion if your heavy on your feet. I had a pair of these 2 years ago and have not found anything since then that compares to the quality and comfort of these shoes. I know I'll continue to buy these as long as Nike continues to make this model and style.

Great Shoe for comfort and cushioning.

4

Great shoe for being a mid size runner. Very Comfortable. I bought the Gray and White wish they made in Red or some combination of Red.(I prefer shoes with red in them. I am already anxious to try the Vomero +9. I have bought the Vomero for last 3 years. Really a good shoe for my size and build. Great service and efficiency from Road Runners!!!

Improved support!

4

I have really enjoyed running in my new Nike Zoom Vomero+ 8 running shoes. You can feel the added support, while still enjoying the great breathability of the mesh on the upper. Support is very important to me when purchasing new running shoes, and the heel and forefoot contain just the right amount of foam for the ultimate, ultra smooth ride.

Killed my feet!

1

I would run the treadmill for one to two hours and these shoes hurt my feet really bad for about six months! I even got black toe which I have never gotten before. The only positive thing about them was they clean up in the washing machine better then any shoe that I have ever had. I will be going back to the Nimbus.

The series keeps getting better!

5

I keep buying the Vomero line because they keep getting better! At almost any speed, the footstrike is very light and neutral. Somehow there seems to be little or no impact, even though they are light and don't have a lot of cushioning. Changing to the newest in the line is always a pleasant experience.

Just like the Vomero 6

2

The Vomero 6 was too bulky/"heavy" and fit was 0.5 to 1.0 size too big. Toe box felt huge. The Vomero 7 solved all those problems. They are light, really hug the foot (arch) and I have two pairs. The Vomero 8 felt just like the 6. I returned them. If you want a larger fit maybe the 8 works for you

Welcome Home!

4

I am an avid recreational runner, doing one marathon a year and several halfs. I was a fan of Nike Vomero 6. But, when Nike went to the 7, the toe box was warrow, even with the 2E. I floundered for a year. The great news is that the 8 is true to size again, giving my wide foot a happy home again!

Extremely Comfortable

5

Stepped out of my comfort zone and trying Nike running shoes for the first time. The Nike Vomero+ 8 are super comfortable with the right amount of cushion and spring. While I am not a big fan of blue (or any colored running shoe), they are comfortable enough to overlook. They are true to size.

This is my favorite shoe

5

I am 68 years old and walk 50 tob60 miles a week as part of a weight loss and fitness program (175 pounds down so far.) Of all the neutral plus shoes I have tried (over 12 different types) this shoe is the most comfortable. I feel I can actually put more distance on during the day when I wear it.

Great Shoe

4

I love the Nike Zoom Vomero series. I have been wearing them for a number of years now. Very comfortable. I don't run/jog as much as I use to due to arthritis, so the shoe lasts longer that they use to. But I still buy them for the comfort.

Best since the +6

4

On my 2nd pair of 8's. Best ones since the 6's and are very comparable. I run in these 4 times a week 4-6 miles. They hold up very well and provide a good ride and balance for a 185lb'er. I tired the 9's and they're to flexible side-to-side.

Better than the 7

4

I was/am happy with the 7 and decided to get a second pair to alternate between runs. Since there was a new version I decided to give it a try. I find the 8 lighter and more comfortable. Not an amazing improvement but definitely a step better than the 7.
