Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

I am a 140 lb, 5'10 female with a fairly high arch and bought these shoes based on the reviews. Unfortunately, I am very disappointed. The toe box is very narrow. I came back from my first run in these shoes with bruised toenails and have since only been able to wear them to the gym for cross-training. I think for someone with a narrower foot they would work very well. On the plus side, they did seem very responsive in that they seemed to almost propel me forward so my pace was faster. I also did't get any pain in my arch like my Mizuno Wave Riders give me sometimes. Still, the narrow toe box made them so uncomfortable for me I had to give them a 2.

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

Is Nike discontinuing this shoe? I would snach up as many as possible since this is my favorite shoe in a long time. And I have had not one single issue with durability. These shoes have lasted a full year of ironman training a racing. Used them for all runs except short races and track workouts.

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

I tend to run a bit faster at 7 min. or less for miles at a time while training for marathons. My twin bro loves his cogs and I figured I'd give these a try. I really like em. They need a couple runs to break-in but after that it's smooth sailing. Very lightweight and plenty of cushion.

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

I am a 155 lb. long-time Asics Cumulus runner. But recent Asics redesigns have forced me to reconsider other brands. Awesome neutral, well-cushioned, and FAST shoes. - The earlier Nike Air Tailwind and Air Max models felt too cushioned for my weight. The combination of Zoom Air up front/Shox in back is great.

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

I am Mizuno runner for years, running exclusively in Riders and Precions. I bought the Shox 2:45 because of the sale price and planned to return them if I wasn't satified. After a few runs, I am very pleased with these shoes. It remains to be seen if the Shox are as durable as the Mizuno brands, but these Nikes are better cushioned and more flexible than the Mizunos. The Precisions tend to be soft and spongey, while the Riders have very firm cushioning. The Shox are closer to the Rider in firmness but with better forefoot cushioning (Zoom Air). A very good shoe for high-arched, small/medium built runners.

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

I have been a long time fan of Nike. But like many Nike runners, I have become frustrated with their lack of consistency. They discontinued my favorite shoe, the Span Triax. I decided to give the Shox 2:45 a try. I have a wide foot in front, low arches, but I'm mechanically neutral (minimal pronation). I'm 6-00, 175 lbs., and run 19:30 5k, 44:00 10k, and average 8:30/mile half marathon and up. This shoe is extremely comfortable! I love the sock type upper. It feels fast when you first wear it. Unfortunately, the shoe felt "sloppy" during my first 10k. The cushioning also seems to degrade on longer runs, as does the stability. The heel cushioning is better than the mid and forefoot. I am curious if weight is a factor. This shoe might be better suited for lighter runners. I had hoped to run a marathon with these, but I don't think they could take the pounding. I am probably going to try the Structure Triax.

I love the fit of these shoes, but after only a few training runs, the inside material is coming down by my left front toe. This problem is forcing me to run with extremely thick socks to overcome the problem. Normally I like the fit and finish of NIke products, but I this shoe material is not holding up.

By Pete

from Undisclosed

Comments about Womens Nike Shox 2:45 Running Shoe:

Follow up: With about 20 miles logged in with the 245's I still have mixed feelings. PROS: these shoes seem to natually promote a faster pace that is easier to sustain than in other shoes (which I assume makes it a good high performance trainer); the forefoot cushoining is ample; heel cushioning, while firm, seems to be responsive and now that my legs seem to have acclimated to the firmer strike, they no longer feel like I just went through a 2 hour pre-season soccer training regimen after normal 3 mile runs; slipper like upper provides great fit. CONS: heel cushoining is almost too firm (I would assume they're broken in after 15+ miles); forefoot cushion is almost too soft - has given me a strange tingly/burning feeling under the ball of my left foot like I'm developing a blister or something, which I've never experienced before; shoe feels very unstable when turning or going around bends. Basically the shoes have some very good properties, I'm just not sure they're the right shoe for

For me this shoe was replaced by my ever loving Mizuno Wave Creation. It seems to provide better support and last a hell of alot longer than Mizunos. I'm on my 5th pair and I love them. They fit like a glove. The slight pain in my achillies when initially taking off takes one star away. Could just by my feet. I run about 20-25 miles a week and one pair lasts me about 6 months. There is no other like them. They are awesome!!

I was very unhappy with these shoes. I am a 125# female runner with medium arches that runs 3-4 times a week 4-6 miles. The toe box was very narrow in these shoes and the cushioning was inadequate. It felt like I was running on a piece of thick plastic. I kept plodding through my daily runs for 45 days until I finally gave up put back on my Saucony Hurricanes and returned the Nikes. So much for trying to experiment. I will give them points for the lacing and tongue construction- being one piece provided a very good fit that I enjoyed before starting my run.

These shoes are completely different from anything else in the Nike line. They have they great cushion the Shox columns provide, but they are lower to the ground. Previous Shox had poor stability and tended to be heavier, built only for large runners. However, the 2:45s are a pleasant break from that streak. These shoes are about average weight as running shoes go, and are much more stable with lower shox. Also the shoe has a seamless interior that makes this the most comfortable fitting shoe I have ever worn. A great shoe for pounding away on the streets, but light enough for the runner who wants to pick up the pace as well. A very well balanced shoe.
