I loved these shoes. They were fabulous while training for the Chicago marathon and I had a PR day. I wanted some new shoes because they were a bit worn after 200 miles. After trying on several brands, I ended up with the Pegagus '06. I wasn't surprised because these shoes fit my foot the best. They're especially great for folks with wide feet like mine. Plus, they have a lot of support but are still light. Great combination!

Always worn Pegasus, liked them until the '05 version came out. I've had shin splints since 12 yrs. old but no problems when I began wearing the Pegasus! Had to buy the '05 (no longer can buy the '04) and now I've had shin splints again and have had trouble with the top of my foot! Returned the shoes, tried a new pair, SAME problem! Felt like the laces were too tight or something. Very dissappointed. Now wearing Asics Cumulus and very pleased with the cushioning and feel. The '06 Pegasus are horrible (stiff, uncomfortable, lack of cushioning).

I too have a squeaky Pegasus after a few months. But I actually like this model better than others. I've found them to last a little longer and be more supportive. I run ~50 miles/week and these have done alright by me. I ended up getting a 8.5 narrow when I usually get a regular but have had no problems with numbness or ill-toe-fit. The '04 died long before these for me. Now if they would only make a Pegasus that would last 6 months.

I'm also glad I'm not the only one who had problems with the 2005 model - they made my middle toes go numb. I was in the middle of training for a marathon and panicked until I found a 2004 model at the Nike Factory outlet. Please, Nike, bring back the old Pegasus!

I have worn Pegasus shoes for over 10 years, and always found them to be comfortable and altogether satisfactory. This new model is too short, too tight, too stiff and it is not at all like any of the previous models. Nike has finally ruined a great shoe with their yearly fiddling. Looks like time to find another shoe, and stop wasting money on Nike products.

I've worn Nike Pegasus shoes for years, and the 05 is the first one that I don't like. Not as much room for my toes as the older models. Feels tight. Also, the changed upper and tongue caused too much pressure on the top of my foot, causing a bruise that prevents me from wearing the shoes more than once every 10 runs or so. Terrible disappointment and a waste of money. Nothing like the previous Pegasus shoes!

I run about 50 miles per week and have run in Pegasus on and off for 10 year or so. I really like the changes Nike made to the '05 Pegasus. The upper cradles my foot better and the shoe is much more breathable. While it still has great cushioning, the shoe also feels lighter and more responsive than the '04.

I am glad to see that I am not alone in my loathing of the 2005 Pegasus. It is nothing like the earlier versions, which were like heaven to my plantar fasciitis ridden feet. I'm going to New Balance until Nike brings the classic Pegasus back.

Thought I was crazy because bottoms of my feet cramped and went numb in these shoes. Saw podiatrist($200 Visit). Told me shoes caused problems. Switched shoes, no more problem. Asked Nike to pay podiatrist bill, the rep laughed. Bye Nike. Hello Asics.

I've never run any other running shoe other than Nike Air Pegasus. The 2004's were great. The 2005's? Forget about it! Something is very wrong. I have about 100 mile on the 2005's and the bottoms of my feet cramp up majorly, sometimes so much that I have to stop running. Something seems wrong with the lacing. Too tight. I hope the 2006 Pegasus return back to the way there were with the 2004's.

I run 70-90 a week and have always used Air Pegasus. My last 4 pair developed a very irritating squeaking sound, sometimes as early as 1st 100 miles. I thought it was just a coincidence, but no longer. Will look for different shoes.

I have used Air Pegasus every model year since the beginning. In my opinion, the best model wsa 2003. This 2005 model nearly caused severe strain on my right achilles tendon. It became so severe, I developed a knot thta was close to rupture. The '06 should in no way be called Air Pegasus. I stopped using it after aprrox. 6 or 7 runs. NIKE...WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY FAVORITE SHOE?!!

I started running in Nike 25 years ago in high school track. There is a reason that I have stayed loyal. These shoes fit. They have the stability that my old bones require and now with the roomier toe space, more comfort. Keep it up Nike, we're goin' on 40 years together!

Sun, February 26,2006:
I recently purchased these shoes after ramping up miles in preparation for a marathon. I had completed the base training and was just getting into the longer runs (Galway's plan). I starged getting metatarsal pain, mostly on the left foot. I find the Pegasus 05 to promote a natural rolling motion in my feet that seems to distributes the pressure nicely. Up to this point I am quite happy with the shoes and am willing to check out more Nike shoes. They seem to have some really promising shoes that I may be willing to try out. (I have been in Brooks and Asics). Keep up the good work Nike.

Liked the 2004s much better. It took a while for the shoes to "break-in"...about 50 miles. Even then, they don't feel near as comfortable on my foot as the 2004 model. Not sure what is different, but something is.

Wed, January 18,2006:
I discovered the Pegasus 2002 and it quickly became my favorite all time shoe. It was revamped in 2004 and still was a favorite. I have owned several pair. The 2005 has caused me to look at other brands. The 05 is too tight across the top of my foot which caused me to loosen the laces and the large toe box gave me a nice blue toe nail after a hilly run.

Worn Pegasus model for many years. Have seen Nike tinker and try to fix something that isn't broken. The blue 04 model was great, except for rapid sole wearout after about 200 miles. The 05 has great sole wear but as a high arch guy, I can't get the shoes comfortably over the arches. Plus, a minor point--the laces are too short. The 04 model presented no over the arch issue and the laces were perfect length. I'll stay with the 04 as long as I can find them.

This version of the Pegasus is more durable than any of the others. The fit is more customized to my feet--narrow heel and wider forefoot, and I like the added arch support. I rotate this with the Wave Rider 8.

Nike - you have ruined the womens Pegasus in 05'! What a disappointment. I have worn and loved Pegasus for over 10 years. The 05' version is so different - uncomformable on the top of my foot, sloppy fit in the toe area, lost that soft/cushiony ride. What a shame. Any recommendations
