The All New Air Structure Triax 9: Put Some Structure in Your Life!

Nike took inspiration from the Free and gave your shoe more flex grooves to slow down at heel-strike. Both men's and women's styles have the incredible independent heel crash pad. Lasdies, you've got your own specifically designed Triax 9, with an entirely different look than the men's, but also a fit just for you. The midfoot saddle piece holds your foot in place so it won't slip and the sole addresses your common areas of pronation so you run your best every time.

Best for runners with a medium build and low to medium arches. Weight: 9.9 ounces

Features & Benefits:
  • Synthetic leather midfoot saddle: Provides great midfoot fit
  • Mesh upper with support overlays: Enhances breathability, provides flex in forefoot, and enhances stability
  • Crash pad/Air-Sole heel: Slows rate of pronation
  • Forefoot Air-Sole: Disperses pressure at toe-off
  • Tri-zone outsole: Improved transition, traction and comfort
  • Weight: 9.9 ounces

I never liked Nike until I tried these shoes. They are very well coushined and stable. The fit is a bit wide in the front like the review says, so if you have narrow feet you should stay clear of this model.

I got this shoe for my XC season because it was the only one in the store in my size (11.5). While it was okay overall, I found it to be too wide - the toebox had too much room and it didn't work well with my orthodics. However, the air cushioning feature in the forefoot is great! It allowed me to r...

These are the only shoe I can wear for long runs in which my knees don't hurt after! Have tried others but keep cominig back to these and have for 10 years. I have had reconstructive knees for torn ACL's and miniscus' and over pronate greatly but these make my knees feel great! I run about 30 miles ...

225 pound mild overpronator with medium arches, I've never worn nikes before. These shoes offer a great blend of cushioning and stability. When I was in shape and 50 pounds lights the adreneline gts5 was my favorite but I love these and I don't think if I lose weight I'll actually take these out of ...

The best shoes I ever had! Excellent cushioning and good stability. I run a 5k race and didn't feel the road at all. They are like butter. I Switched from the Shox TL 3 because of the poor stability I developed tendonitis.

My rating and an addendum: I wanted to mention the toe box width. In previous Nike shoes my toes felt cramped. This shoe has plenty of space in the toe box and is very comfortable. In the past I've worn 10.5 2E in the Brooks Beast. With the Air Sturcture Triax 9 I am wearing a 11 D and having no pro...

Tue, May 09,2006:
The shoe is very flimsy and has a lot less stability than the makers said it had. I have already twisted my ankle and have had pain my shins since I began wearing this shoe. Yes it's coushined but still not stable enough for a stability shoe. I was less than pleased with this special women's shoe

I'm 6-3 215 w/high arches and mild overpronator. I've tried 17 different shoes in the last year, looking for the ultimate. I would say the Omni 5, for me is the ultimate, but so is the Triax 9. When I got these home, I spent a lot of time squeezing them and bending them in different directions. The ...

Love these shoes, they are so much better than previous models. Toebox is wide and forefoot cushioning is great. I agree with the previous comments about the heel-to-toe transition, it's very smooth and makes the shoe feel very light and fast. Overall, would rate at 4.5.

This is a follow-up to my previous review below. I have about 175 miles on these now and they are definitely more durable than the 8's. The stablility and cushion is great. The wider fit takes times to adjust to. But my toes have a lot more room. This is a very comfortable shoe to do high milel...

This is a great shoe. Right out of the box greatness. I tested them on a 10 miler and it was of the easiest runs in a long time. This is what a running shoe should feel like. I'm hooked. Keep up the great Nike.

Broke down and got the shoe. Fit is less narrow than the 8, but the cushioning and ride are better-more cushioned and at least as stable. Good job nike.

These shoes are like butter! I'm 6'2", 190 lbs, with medium arches and these shoes were exactly what I was looking for. Just the right amount of support and cushioning and felt really natural when I ran on them. I tried about 8 different pairs of shoes including the Nimbus (too much forefoot cush...

Tue, February 07,2006:
I am a 6'00" 148 Lbs. moderate overpronator and I run about 60 miles a week. Comparing this one to the previous model, it is very different. The shoe is slightly heavier and the toebox is much wider than before. If you found Nike to be too narrow in the past, you will like this one. The cushioni...
