The New Shox 2:4 - Performance Fit, Performance RideThe Rest is up to YOU!

Responsive cushioning designed with the fast runner in mind. The 2:40 replaces the 2:45 and the decreasing numbers should mirror what your PR is doing, especially in these shoes! In this update, the outsole & midsole are the same, but the upper has a new pattern. And for the women, the flex groove on the upper was adjusted for a more natural feel and smoother foot transition. The Shox technology is even more responsive now. If you live for speed, these shoes should be on your feet.

Fit Tip: Monotongue upper provides a glove-like fit with wiggle room for your toes

Best for runners with a medium build and medium to high arches.
Category Type:  NEUTRAL [?]

Great shoe for comfort but not for durability. After 6 months and extremely light use the sole on the right shoe, under the ball of the foot, has split and the hard plastic splits through the rubber tread.

I put about 35 miles per week on the shoes, and after 3 months they're holding up well. The only drawback (and to the 2:45) is that the heel wears down quickly.

I am starting on my third pair. These shoes have been great to me. I have used these Nikes for one Half-Iron triathlon and one marathon, plus training. If you don't need extra stability and are looking for cushion, these kicks are an excellent choice ... not heavy either. I couldn't give them four stars because they didn't work for my wife. She experience discomfort on the outside of her ankle.

Bought these 6 weeks before the 2006 Detroit Free Press Marathon after owning a pair of Nike 2:45s the year before (which I liked). Ended up returning the shoes after the marathon for a refund as the 2:40s now have a seam in the inner shoe which rubs on both inside/outside ankles. Tried to cover the seam with duct tape but everytime I ran in these, they irritated my ankles. Never had this issue before in running/preparing for 5 marathons. Buying a pair of 2:45s next time if I can find them...as they had a totally smooth inner shoe at the ankle.
