Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

Not a 'bad' shoe but not a great shoe either. I have found it to be a very stiff shoe..way too stiff to be a neutral let alone performance neutral shoe. There is also the unnecessary stiff heel cup which is now known to be a contributing factor in Achilles injuries. Lastly the very stiff midfoot 'gizmo' can irritate the foot, particularly on the outside/lateral side. If Nike would simply stop with the bells and whistles the shoe would be much improved.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

The best shoe I have ever owned. I have IT band trouble with any "stability" shoes. I have no trouble with these. The Haywards are fast (I won my age group in two 70.3 events in them), and well cushioned (no injuries). I'm 150 pounds and do most of my running at about 7:00/mile. The only minor complaint I have is that the lace holes are small, so standard lace locks don't spread the tension well.

One of the softest, most comfortable shoes I've owned. Also very light and fast. Only issue for me is, after 8 miles, back problems set in. Ran Dallas Marathon in them - set PR but back pain was so bad I had to lie down at mile 20. Ran 5K pr in them this spring. Great short race shoe and speed work trainer, but watch out for long runs. I'm 5'9" and 160#.

Great lightweight no-frills shoe. Smooth ride, responsive, and well-cushioned. I have 3 pairs and use them for fast paced tempo runs, track work, and long runs (up to 24 miles) with no problems. Durability on par with average running shoes. Nike, please do not change this shoe!

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

This is the best lightweight trainer Nike has made since the Mariah of the late 80's/early 90's. I don't know how they got so much forefoot cushioning into such a light shoe. Anyone over about 160 lbs is going to find them a little spongy, but if you are a lightweight runner with narrow feet, high arches, and no pronation issues, you will be in heaven running in these. My only complaint is with those ridiculous lugs around the outsole. Pebbles get jammed between them and you sound like a tapdancer going down the street. But on some runs it will be the only way you know your feet are touching the ground.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

I gave these shoes a try after running in A6 Cumulus. I was hoping for a lighter, faster shoe w/o sacrificing cushion & stability. The cusion & weight is great, but the stability is lacking. There is something about the tongue/laces that seem to bruise the top of my foot (to get the shoes tight enough). They don't provide nearly enough support on long runs. Try them before you commit long term to them to see if they're right for you.

My Vomeros, which I have used to alternate with the Haywards, have worn out after about 400 miles. I have about 250 miles on my second pair of Haywards (350+ miles on the first pair). I like this shoe!!! I don't plan to replace the Vomero's, but will use the Haywards as my main shoe from here on. I just wish Nike would stick with more conservative colors. I'm not a flamboyant runner. Nike, please don't change the structure of this shoe, just the color.

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

Have had a hard time finding new nikes. I have always ran in more expensive versions like shoxs and tailwinds. So lately I have found that all the new nikes haven't been fitting right, none comfortable enough for my feet. But reading the reveiws I thought I would give this less expensive shoe a chance. What do you know, they were great from the start. This shoe is a lot lighter than my other ones, but still has lots of cushion. Though I still need to put some more miles on them but they are working great so far. Thanks for the help!

Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

I'm surprised so many comments suggest this will not wear well? I now have 450 miles on my pair and they still feel the same. There is wear on the areas highlighted in the black BRS 1000 material, but I'm surprised I don't see more. I thought this shoe felt best after running 100 miles... it felt like it molded to my feet by then. I think this shoe works very well on long distance days and roads. Feels great without socks too! What a shoe for 71 bucks

This is the best light-weight training shoe that has come from the folks at Nike. This shoe runs like a champ right out of the box. It fits like a glove. The articulated sole made me nervous at first glance. Comments about Mens Nike Air Zoom Hayward Running Shoe:

I am 59, 170 lbs, underpronator, 45-55 miles per week. Been wearing these for about 200 miles. They are lightweight, comfortable, and responsive. Here in Oregon they are available in bright UofO yellow with green soles - overly flashy but all my local running store had. A great daily training shoe or racing shoe. My only concern is durability. I generally am not hard on shoes and turn them over at 450-500 miles. These look like they will be done far short of that!

the air hayward is probably the model that most benefits from nike's design learnings with the Free 5.0. the shoe is highly flexible and light, while also delivering solid cushioning and the right stability for a neutral runner. The flexibility is on par with the Mizuno WR8/9, which is hard to duplicate, while offering superior cushioning. the Seamless upper is very comfortable and allows my overly wide forefeet to fit, even though i wish they'd offer a wide. nike appears to intend this shoe as niche lightweight trainer, but it should really serve as their platform for all future training shoes. the pegasus and new vomero are just too tall, encouraging excess pronation. the height of the pegasus pushed nike to stiffen it, which works, but when the shoe wears out, it deflects too much, exagerating a healthy pronation motion into an unhealthy over-pronation. they've tried to address this wear tendency in the vomero but flaring the midsole, but it doesn't work. in any case, the
