I run on the beach barefoot everyday and this is the only thing that comes close. The shoes are lightweight flexible and cured all the shin splints i was having running inside or on the road. 1 word Phenomenal!!!!

Best running shoes I've ever had. So good that I bought multiple pairs later on. Some people might complain about the thin material. But if you don't put on your shoes like a gorilla you'll never have a problem with them ripping. Mine haven't and I now use them every day. And you're not supposed to run heel then toe off in them. You're supposed to be running on your toes. If you do that you will definitely see benefits. Including bigger calves. And these beat 5.0 V3 by a landslide because the material on these is better at letting your feet breath and it's thinner. I have version 3s and hated them because of this.

Much to my disappointment these shoes really did not live up to the expectation. I have run over 500 miles in two pairs of them, yet each time when I start a run in these Frees I still feel the big thick heels sort of getting in the way--not at the end but more like at the first black colored block. It usually takes about 2 miles for me to get over this uncomfortable feeling. Don't understand why this so-called bare foot shoe would have such a dramatically elevated heel. It kind of messes up my stride. This shoes is way overrated in my view. I am a <120 lb runner, cannot stand heavy weight trainers and most the time use racing flats for training. Good thing I never spent more than $10-15 on the Free shoes, 'cause they really aren't worth much more!

I love these shoes! I read the Chi Running book and started to develop a more efficient stride first. Then I bought the Free's and followed the recommendation to start slow, walking in them first, then running short distances to get your feet used to them. Now I don't want to run in anything else. Feet and lower legs get stronger, stride gets cleaner, you just run better. I run about 3/4 gnarly trails with lots of rocks and roots, and 1/4 road, and they are the best shoes I have ever worn by FAR. Used to run in stability shoes, then moved to neutral, now these. Only complaint - getting hard to find.

Outstanding flexibility. I average 5 miles a day and love the shoes. They are a perfect supplement to the Chi Running program. Only complaint - the rocks that get stuck in the grooves.

I was skeptical that this shoe would work for me, but I love it. I am encouraging my friends to give these a try.

Nice shoe....just make sure you get the right size. If they are too big...they will slip a little. A hald size smaller than normarl shoe size makes for a solid fit. I have three pair.
