Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Anytime I change to a different shoe, or a shoe model is changed by the company, I always wear them around the house to determine how well they fit and feel. I am familiar enough with my biomechanics to know if a shoe will work reasonably well before I hit the roads. If I am uncertain, I go easy for short distances until I get a feel for the shoes. This way of sceening different shoes works well for me. We all need to know ourselves in order to know what works and what doesn't. The 05 Peg is a great shoe for me, but I also know it won't work for everyone.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

I have been running in Nike shoes for years. This is the worst one that I have ever purchased. It is not a "nuetral" shoe as claimed. It has too many drawbacks to bother writing about. I will stick with the slightly heavier Moto series.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Pegasus was my favorite choice for a number of years becaue it was fairly well cushioned and came in a very comfortable 2E width. Then came this version. This version's 2E is built differently. I learned from a sales rep that this year's version was changed - it has the same sole as the D width but with a slightly larger upper. Whatever the motive - the results are below par. The shoe causes numbness in my toes and instep. I can't run in them. It's as if they're a B width in stead.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Remember I mentioned something about my plantar fascia flaring up? Well, I returned these cuz they're stiff. It feels like the foot is doing all the work. Currently looking for a more flexible ride. The rest of the shoe was fine (traction, no heel slippage, fit)

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

I guess I'll buck the trend and report that as much as I liked the Pegasus '04 (own two pair), I LOVE the Pegasus '05. I just picked up my 3rd pair and stored them in my closet for next year. I will say, however, that the shoe feels much different than the previous generation did. I definitely can see how some people would dislike this shoe when compared to previous models. Fortunately for me, it is the best shoe I've ever worn. I have over 500 miles on my first pair, and I am going to retire them after an upcoming half marathon.I think Nike may have a dilemma about what to do with the next generation Pegasus, since I know several runners who feel strongly positive or negative about this shoe. I am very curious about what the next model will feel like.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

I've been wearing Pegasus every year since '01. This is still the only shoe which keeps my shin splints at bay. I seem to have to fiddle with the lacing a bit more to keep the heel from slipping as compared to the '02 and '04 models; however, I am still very pleased with the '05 model and have not observed any significant differences from earlier models.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

The Pegasus 05 model felt great for the first several runs. Then my toes and bottoms of my feet went numb. Spent $125 at my Doctor. Diagnosis was nerve compression caused by the shoes. Numbness would slowly go away. Now it's 2 weeks later and I have about 75% recovery rate. I called Nike and complained. The customer service rep said no other complaints were received on foot numbness. The other posts here say differently. Nike just lost me as a paying customer. Plus I plan to tell the "world" about Nike's incompetence. Guess that's what happens when a company focuses more on paying millions to athlete celebrities for endorsements. Us consumers pay more for less quality.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Generally still the best shoe for me. But what the hell happened to the tongue design. It seems like the sewed the thing into the shoe so it doesn't move around. But the result of this change is numb toes and goes up my leg! My instep is killing from this horrid modification! The Peg 2004 was better. The cushioning and everything else is great, but that change hurts like hell!

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Be sure to buy a full size larger!! The sizing on these compared to previous models seems a bit small. The Pegasus is a shoe I always come back to, and I am very pleased with this model. I have crazy hard feet to fit, and I am blister free and still have my toe nails with these. The arch support is just right. They are not very rigid, so go for a heavier shoe if you need more support. They do seem better suited to a lighter runner. They don't slip on the heel, which is a great advance in women's running shoes as far as I've experienced.

after running in and loving the 02 and 04 models (i'm a realtively new half and marathoner) i could not even get comfortable walking in the 05's. i have a very narrow foot which the previous models hugged perfectly. my feet felt like they were swimming in the 05's...i have had to switch to the adidas boston classic for my upcoming nashville and san diego races...hoping nike will go back to retooling the shoe to the classic pegasus format. sigh.

Comments about Womens Nike Air Pegasus '05 Running Shoe:

Run 40+ per week. These were fantastic for the first 100 miles(2 1/2 weeks). Then they completely broke down, feels like the air cushion broke in the left shoe. Anyway, $72 for 2 1/2 running weeks--quite pricey to me.

Mon, April 24,2006:
the air hayward is probably the model that most benefits from nike.s design learnings with the Free 5.0. the shoe is highly flexible and light, while also delivering solid cushioning and the right stability for a neutral runner. The flexibility is on par with the Mizuno WR8/9, which is hard to duplicate, while offering superior cushioning. the Seamless upper is very comfortable and allows my overly wide forefeet to fit, even though i wish they.d offer a wide. nike appears to intend this shoe as niche lightweight trainer, but it should really serve as their platform for all future training shoes. the pegasus and new vomero are just too tall, encouraging excess pronation. the height of the pegasus pushed nike to stiffen it, which works, but when the shoe wears out, it deflects too much, exagerating a healthy pronation motion into an unhealthy over-pronation. they.ve tried to address this wear tendency in the vomero but flaring the midsole, but it doesn.t work. in any case, the cushioning

I had to return the show to NIKE just two weeks after I bought them. The sole on the left show started to come apart. I upgraded from the 04 model which my sick cat peed on. I still have them, but I cant get the damn smell off of them (I tried every cat pee remover on the market and soap and water) Oh well 3 weeks wearing the 04 model with cat pee wont hurt while I wait for the new pair from Nike.
