true you do need to calibrate this, but it is much better than the original one that had a display issue. I really love it for distance tracking.

Ran with it for a year. Often inaccurate by as much as a mile over 10 miles. Always love it when I finish a race and it says I have another 1/2 mile left! No matter how many times your reset it and recalibrate, it seems to loose accuracy after a few runs. Also seems to freeze up the ipod from time to time and you loose your work out data or even worse a race. Last two Half Marathons I have ran it locked up and I lost my race data. Very frustrating. Finally gave up an upgraded to the Garmim 405 3 months ago. Its the only way to go if you want accurate data to help you improve. If you want a cheap price and a device that works about 80% of the time, this is a good option. Its not all bad and has some great features, just can't trust it.

light, cheap, accurate enough for me - if you want you can even calibrate it for better accuracy - plus the new Sportband works much better than last years.

I LOVE my IPod+! May sound stupid but it feels like there is someone with you when you're on a long run, and I derive comfort (and inspiration) from that at times! Yes, there are occasions when it seems a little inaccurate but I find it tracks out pretty well and I still love it. I give it a thumbs up!

I love this sensor when I'm running, but it does not track calories if I am doing any other cardio (such as eliptical or spinning). Also, if you run on a treadmill, the distance will be inaccurate.

Philippe rated this product 1 star. Saturday, April 18th 2009. I have owned this Nike + sensor for two months now, and had almost no problem for three runs. Have problems with the transmission, it would continue to search for signal without ever starting or finding the signal, after trying for a few days I gave up,I'm very disappointed with this gadget.

On my second sensor. First one lasted about 100hrs (claims it should last 1000). It does a good job tracking my miles and calories, and is easy to use. It will automatically "stop" if activity stops for a certain aount of time. Discovered this after my 1st marathon! It quit at mile 11, while I stopped to tend to a blister. Wasn't listening to IPOD, so I didnt' know it stopped. Bummer! I would recommend the kit, though. Nice to hear how far you've gone and/or how much further to go...
