Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I bought this after I realized I had the Nike+ app on my iPhone 4. The calibrating is a bit funny (it calibrated my run as a walk and then after a few weeks changed over without prompting...perhaps I was running too slow?). Regardless it is a great help tracking my progress via speed, distance, calories etc. What really pushes me into loving it though is how it syncs to [@] where I can set goals for myself, join run challenges, and set up a coach, among other cool options. The website is a bit buggy, which can get aggravating, but overall I'm very very pleased and have already gotten a few of my running buddies to join.
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I run with it of course. But I also use it at work. I am a letter carrier and use it to see how far I walk in a day.

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I have found this pretty useful - they have outlasted shoes and I have no problem with connecting them with different Apple products
Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: Bought this for use w/ my iPhone 4 about a month ago. Because the iPhone 4 comes pre-loaded with the Nike+ app, there is no need to purchase the separate connector as you do w/ some older iPhone models (or iPods) - the phone and the sensor will link up automatically once you open the app and start walking. Calibrating the sensor was simple. I ran a familiar, GPS validated 7 mile route and calibrated the Nike+ sensor afterwards. Since then, the distances I've run (even on a treadmill) are quite accurate. The main benefit to me is that it takes the guesswork of how far I've run when I'm out of town or want to try a different route. The system provides periodic updates ("You've reached the half way point") along with total run time and pace data, which I find helpful. I've tried a couple of other products to track my distances, this is by far the best I've ever used. Great value for the money.

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I went to calibrate my Nike+ system thinking it would need it. I went to local track and ran a mile. It showed .99 when I hit my first mile around the track. Almost perfect right out of the box. I have since been on quite a few runs and have no complaints. I use mine with the Nike+ Sportband.

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: Bought Nike+ to use while training for a marathon. I'm a begginner when it comes to running long distances so it's nice to be able to keep track of the pace I started at and then pace I'm running now. So far no problems!

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I use the Nike + to help me better my times when running 5Ks all the way to training for marathons. It can be tricky to get it calibrated to accurately track my runs but once I have done so it is a wonderful way to track my runs! I also enjoy the online tracking of the Nike Plus though the Nike Plus website.

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I love my Nike+ because it helps me know how well I am doing for meeting my running goals. I recently lost my old sensor and ordered this new one[...] It is the same reliable sensor as always, with new pro-athlete voices. I was happy to hear the new voices...Paula had started to congratulate me a bit too often with the old sensor. Also, if you want to use this with the Vibram Five Fingers shoes, just make sure it is white-side down and nestle it between the shoe and the top of your foot, right where the toes begin.

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: The sensor can be a pain to calibrate...but once you do its dead on!!I have a Polar system and its better than it,i just used my polar watch and the timing on watch and nike+ are the same.I drove my normal route in my car and the mile markers are the same!Tips with the Nike+ tape your sensor down so it doesnt move, the littlest vibration will throw it off.Try not to move your shoes too much after running it stays active 5 mins after each time the sensor gets moved.Dont buy the whole kit cause there old and the batteries are almost dead just by the sensor by itself.Do alteast a half mile calibration run.or after a short run so you will already be in your normail stride.Just double check by going around .25 miles to see how close it is.If its off reset to default and do it again! If you want a really acurate calibration.Start running about 20 meters before your start line and hit begin calibration at the line that way your already in stride when you begin.Do your normal everyday running pace when calibrating not your race pace.It will pick up the days you run faster or slower off your normal pace.If you run faster calibrating and then go out for a normal run it will say .50 completed when youve only went like .15 and say 5 min pace when your really doin a 640 pace!It wont be as acurate if you run very big hills i have noticed that much. Also the temperture can sometimes throw it off.If youve been using it in hotter weather then the season changes you have to recalibrate. Its best to calibrate every month cause your stride will change as you get more miles on your shoes.Ive been using this kit for almost 4 yrs and have been on the phone several times with the Nike+ team so i know what im talking about!

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I've been using the Nike+ since it first came out with very mixed results. I gave up using it with my Nano as there were just too many days that it would not work. I went through at least 5 sensors and a couple of Nanos. Pros

Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I run almost every day (5 days a week) 3-4 miles and I have been using the Nike + for 2 1/2 years and I have logged over 1,558 miles on the nike website. This is the second unit I have purchased so they do last an acceptable period of time. Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: Ran with it for a year. Often inaccurate by as much as a mile over 10 miles. Always love it when I finish a race and it says I have another 1/2 mile left! No matter how many times your reset it and recalibrate, it seems to loose accuracy after a few runs. Also seems to freeze up the ipod from time to time and you loose your work out data or even worse a race. Last two Half Marathons I have ran it locked up and I lost my race data. Very frustrating. Finally gave up an upgraded to the Garmim 405 3 months ago. Its the only way to go if you want accurate data to help you improve. If you want a cheap price and a device that works about 80% of the time, this is a good option. Its not all bad and has some great features, just can't trust it. Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: true you do need to calibrate this, but it is much better than the original one that had a display issue. Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: great product 4 the money and you dont have to have a BIG foot pod on your shoe! Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I LOVE my IPod+! May sound stupid but it feels like there is someone with you when you're on a long run, and I derive comfort (and inspiration) from that at times! Yes, there are occasions when it seems a little inaccurate but I find it tracks out pretty well and I still love it. I give it a thumbs up! Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: light, cheap, accurate enough for me - if you want you can even calibrate it for better accuracy - plus the new Sportband works much better than last years. Comments about Nike + Sensor Electronics: I love this sensor when I'm running, but it does not track calories if I am doing any other cardio (such as eliptical or spinning). Also, if you run on a treadmill, the distance will be inaccurate.
