Reviewed by 22 customers Sort by Displaying reviews 1-20 Previous | Next » Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: This product was awful and for three reasons: 1) The velcro belt is too loose and a number of times I unhitched it with my hand. 2) With all four packs full, the elastic belt would slide down a little with each stride requiring me to stop and retighten the belt ever few minuets. 3) Once the bottles were empty, they had the tendency to pop out of the holsters. What a nightmare! Pros

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: Training for a half marathon and I needed a hydration solution. Single bottles are good for short runs, but can be a pain when you need more fluids. This can be used with 1 to 4 bottles and you can mix and match what you want to drink. Highly recommended. Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: True, true on the size thing. It helps to try it in the store, and even get one smaller than you think. When you add water, plus start sweating it can loosen. I end up tightening mine over the course of my long runs. Pros

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I use this for long runs, better than carrying a bottle. Didn't think I would like the race caps but after using them I do except sometimes taking them out of the belt I accidently squirt the bottle. I wish I could move the front bottles location slightly but a huge deal.

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: Overall, I'm glad I bought this fuel belt. It's very functional and the bottles are easy to take out and put back. The race caps are great! I've been running with just two bottles, which seems to work well, and I like that I can expand to four bottles when I need them. I have a small natural waist that's still a little smaller than what the "small" size belt will go to, so the belt does bounce a small amount when I run, but after a little bit I actually think I get used to the bounce and it's not such a big deal. The one thing I really wish that this pack had is a way of really securing anything that's in the larger back pouch. The top is only closed off by some elastic, which is great if you're worried about getting a gel out of the pocket quickly, but I'd be nervous to put my cell phone back there. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase, though.

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: This is a good hydration belt that spreads the weight effectively with easy access to bottles and pouches. For correct sizing lean toward the smaller size if you are on the top end of the waist size. Pros

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I have been using Nathan belts for 7+ years. I love this new design. I was skeptical at first because the bottles are smaller by a few oz. What I love most about this product is that there is no leakage! The new cap keeps liquids in! And because the water bottles are smaller, the belt fits me better. The previous small/petite size was still a bit too big because the larger bottles didn't allow for a smaller belt. I ran 18 miles today and only needed to use 3 bottles, so far I am ok with the smaller bottles but we will see next summer when the temps increase. My only con is that the front pocket is smaller than previous models. I really have to jam things in there. I carried one package of clif shot blocks, 1 Gu packet, chapstick and my key fab. So at least it holds everything but it would be tough to add another pack of shot blocks which I would need as my mileage nears 20 miles. But so far, it is doing me just fine! Job well done Nathan!

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: Great product! I read most of the reviews on this & several products before purchasing this product & found the positive comments to be helpful. A marathon runner that lives in the middle of nowhere, this is a great hydration belt... great size bottles, but still not too large to be bouncy, the tops are not really an issue at all as long as they are applied correctly. Just check to make sure they are screwed on straight. I have several Nathan products already, which are all top quality- this is no exception & I'm highly pleased with this purchase.

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: After reading all the reviews on this and many other hydration belts, I decided on this one and have been extremely impressed! I have so far worn this on three runs between 6-10 miles. I have experienced no jostling, bouncing, or ride up. Once I put it on, it stayed in place until I took it off. I love the idea of being able to carry more than one thing at a time (water and accelerade/gatorade mix for me).

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I've run with this belt numerous times now, and most times I forget I even have it on. I get NO bounce out of it, and it's comfortable around my waist. I'm a size 34-36 waist, roughly 205lbs, and I bought a medium, hoping it'd be on the tighter side. With the adjustable waist, I have no discomfort, and can cinch it up perfectly.

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: Great belt that doesn't bounce around or ride up when running. However, when all four bottles are full it makes for a lot of weight to carry for long runs. My lower back started to hurt after a while. Other than that, it's a perfect fit because it's adjustable with elastic as well. Storage is small but fits gels or small snacks and IDs.

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I have tried several other fuel belts and this one is the best so far. The elastic and Velcro are incredibly strong and it keeps the belt in place for long runs. Some people feel comfortable wearing their belts high and some like it on their hips, I would say this belt works for both and will not move! The new racer tops are great, especially if you don't like to stop to drink while running. You can also carry only two bottles for shorter runs or all 4 for long runs/hikes. I like my other belts too but this is the best one! Pros

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I'm an avid runner and need a lot of water. The belt has a good distribution of weight and fastens tight enough so the water does not bounce. Two major cons Nathan should fix. First, the older belts had 10 oz bottles, much better than the 7 oz ones they use now. Bigger bottles are better. Second, all the bottle tops should be the new style. Having two bottles with the pull top and two with the squeeze valve is annoying. Overall the belt is good and does its job well. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I like that you can add 1-4 bottles. You can have water in some and Gatorade in some others. If the run is not long you can take only one. The belt fits just right. It was one of my best running investments. :) Pros
Cons Best Uses
Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: I find the bottles easy to get in and out and the front pouch holds plenty of gels etc. However, I found that the large size is too large, I am 6'4" and about 210lbs. Also, when the rear flasks are full, they bounce too much. With about 15% less than full they're fine. Maybe if I went to a medium this would help, I don't know. It's also hard to drink the last amounts out of the flasks. Pros

Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: Have had three fuel belts before and was keen to try Nathan. Got it and it looks good. However, 500m into first run i lost one of the bottles from bouncing. Put it back in and happened again..... it works fine if i have just 3 bottles in it but 4 is a no go. Pros
Cons Best Uses Comments about Nathan Speed 4R Energy Belt Hydration: PROs: The bottles are easy to take out and put back in the holsters one-handed while running. Back pouch is big enough for cellphone and more.
