All the previous ones (NB, Nike and Asics) caused me some extent of knee pain after running no amount of cushioning helped. It was determined that I was a heel striker and Newton was recommended. I have to tell ya, these absolutely did the trick! I have no residual effects from impact and running has again become a pleasure. They do take a little getting used to, but the rewards in my case are worth a mint! With Roadrunner's exchange policy, these are definately the shoes to try! Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Started wearing these about 3 weeks ago. I followed the adjustment recomendations carefully as I was recovering from calf/solius strain. They fit well (true to size). I have always been more of a midfoot striker, so my adjustment went well. So far I have run up to 10 miles with no problems. I don't know if all the hype is accurate, but I really like the forefoot cushioning. Most running shoes emphasize heel cushioning and lack forefoot cushioning. So far they seem to be excellent shoes. I plan to try the winter shoe that is coming out next month and will likely consider the light weight performance shoe for races and triathlons next summer. Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I really like these shoes. The workmanship is top-notch - they use high quality materials. I have worked up to 10 mile runs in these, and use them for my tempo stuff as well. I still get a bit of calf soreness but that is slowly going away. These have really helped me perfect my midfoot strike and I find myself running with better form in my other "non Newton" running shoes that I use for long runs. I hope that with time I will be using the Newtons in all my runs. Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Awesome shoe! Wider toebox than the S Racer and the updated lug shape and pattern give you more traction and take much less milage to break in. A bit more rigid than the originals, but more comfortbale and versitile. Definitely worth the investment for midfoot and forefoot strikers. Pros

Best Uses Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I was really looking forward to running in these shoes. The early runs were great, but that ended after about two months. These shoes now consistently kill the bottoms of my feet, in line with we're the lugs are. I just tried them again yesterday after not wearing them for a week, and had take them off after three minutes and put on an older pair.I'm a little over 200lbs and do most of my running on a treadmill. The bottom line for me is that I tried them and they disappointed. For [$], I'd ask yourself if you want to gamble on it too?

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: My previous pair of Newtons were too narrow and I almost gave up on the brand until I went to their booth at the LA marathon last year where they recommended the Sir Isaac as being a little wider, but not to the extent of the new EE's coming out. I bit, and the shoe fits perfect.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Great running shoe. I run 4-5 times a week, and have run for several weeks in the newtons, and so far no problems. They seem narrower than most shoes, this is good to me because I have a narrow foot. Shoes are very breathable, light weight, and feel fast. If I didn't know it I would think I was in racing flats.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Newton doesnt make womens shoe in an 11.5 so I wear a mens 10 and have been happy with the fit. Most mens shoes are a little sloppy in the toe box, but the Newtwons were perfect.I've been looking at the Newtons for months and finally took the jump to them. LOVE them!!! They've been the upgrade I needed in my training. I broke them in on an easy 3mi run. Then then ran 10mi the next day in them. No problems. The Newtons are the way to go if you are interested in more of a Chi running style.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I had never worn a Newton shoe before in my life. I ran my 10th marathon in a brand new pair of Sir Isaac's (fresh out of the box) with great results. You do not need to be an expert in Chi running to effectively wear Newtons. If you are a runner who lands on the balls of your feet, I highly recommend these shoes because they are extremely comfortable and light.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I use this product for fitness running and triathlon events. It works all the correct muscles for running; you feel the translation of the energy moving from your feet to your calves through your quads to your glutes. It got me from running like a duck (off of impact on my heels) to running like an athlete again! I feel fast and best of all, I stay injury free!

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Curious about these for years. Recently converted to Chi, and thought I'd try. Glad I did; really like the minimal feel, and they're helping with chronic pf.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I would give this 5 stars if only it was a bit less bulky. And it might only feel bulky because I have been wearing lightweight Asics trainers and racers for the past few years. The sizing is a little tricky because the 12 almost feels too big, and the 11.5 was too small. Made all the more tricky because you have to line up the actuator lugs just right on your foot to really take advantage of the shoe. But, I loved these. I am exchanging for the Gravity Trainer which is a little lighter and recommended before going to the Distance Racer. When I weighed one of them, it was about 9.6 oz. Folks at Newton said it should weight about 10.6 oz, so...? I wanted to run more and more though with these; they just make running more fun and enjoyable. I am hooked, switching over from Asics, and waiting desperately for my new Trainers.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I bought the Sir Isaacs to transition into running in Newton shoes. So far, I love them. They are very comfortable and seem like a great shoe. I only have about a hundred miles on them so far but the transition has been easier than i expected.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Very glad to see newton come out with this shoe. I'd been using their performance trainer over the past year (which was really more of a racing flat) and this model definitely has more cushioning in the forefoot (where you need it.) Bravo to newton for a sweet ride.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: Newton delivers what they promise. Even though I've only run three times in these shoes a 3 mile, 11 mile and a marathon, I'm impressed with them. I'm still not 100% accustomed to them, but they work as advertised. I've been converting my stride to a more fore foot style for the past 8 months, the Newtons helped take me to the next level. Its almost effortless they way your body automatically transitions to a fore foot style stride. The break in time is limited, I suggest not running a marathon on your 3rd outing. They are light, comfortable, and just feel good as they should considering the price. I found the sizing a bit smaller then a traditional shoe, both in width and length. I went 1/2 size larger and was very pleased. Bottom line, so far so good. I will try a second pair when these are done.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac Running Shoe: I switched to this shoe, to help me with turnover and just to go to a lighter shoe. I am a big guy. This shoe is awesome, i even tried running in my other old running shoes and went back to Newton. there is a break in period, but after that.. The shoe is worth it. but buy two pair, they do wear out pretty fast.
