Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I've read the reviews posted and I must say that I agree with most about this shoe. I started wearing it due to a long term foot problem that had forced me to become a heel striker. I am now injury free. I started with the distancia but the sole wore out fairly quickly, however the cushion is still good after 500 miles so I still wear them occasionally. My Sir Isaacs have 350 miles on them and are still in great shape. I've never owned a pair of shoes that leave me feeling so good after a 20 miler. I'm 5'10" 150 lbs, been running for 25 years.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: Let me start by saying that I am a clydesdale. I am 6'1" and 250lbs. I also pronate a little. I have a natural running style. I have never hound a shoe that has a low heal drop except some of the minimal shoes. They give you no cushion and no support though. This all changed with the sir issacs s shoe. They give you great forefoot cushion and even have some kind of added boost from their lug technology. If you are a big guy that can't run in the minimal shoes you can still run in a natural style with these shoes. I am now looking at their trail shoes. The only complaint is that they loose a little traction in the rain. Hopefully the trail shoes will change that. Newtons might be a little more money then the rest of the normal shoes but these shoes are anything but normal. They are worth the extra $20-50 in my opinion.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I have been wearing Asics for years and swore I would not jump on the mid-foot running craze. After wearing Newton's I don't think I'll wear another shoe. This shoe is so lightweight, yet gives adequate support. The only downside is that they seem to wear out quickly.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I am a competitive age group triathlete trying to make the step up to pro. These shoes are fantastic for tempo running, interval training and racing. The lightweight feel of the shoes is incredible particularly when running at speed. I think these shoes are great for faster runners. For slow running i don't feel that the shoes have the support that they need. Suits forefoot/midfoot running style.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: After using New Balance 99x series for many years, I switched to Newton shoes to reduce runner's toe. I found them to be the most comfortable running [or other, for that matter] shoes I have purchased...ever. I get about 300-400 miles out of each pair.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I'm a Chi runner and was pleasantly surprised with the overall feel and performance of this shoe. Thought the lugs would interefere with a midfoot landing but I can now understand their lever function. I'd give this shoe 5 stars if the laces weren't red.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: Just to update a review in 2011, I now have 400 miles on these shoes and am still running in them. The only downside I see is that the shoe is lacking in traction on slippery surfaces. I haven't experienced them wearing out quickly -- I'll likely hit 500 miles before purchasing a new pair.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: First, I am a casual runner (5K's/10k's/half marathons) not looking for speed, but needing a shoe to help me break a heel-strike habit and get ready for my first marathon this fall. This shoe with it's "lug" design gives me a target to shoot for with every foot strike by providing a thicker rubber portion (the lug) towards the front of the shoe. I can tell immediately if I am hitting the lug or falling back to my heel strike mode, which sounds simple but is a tremendous help to me. Surprisingly, I can also translate this to my other non-lugged running shoes and aim for a mid-foot or fore-foot landing by imagining the lug is there. The tread design does not lend itself to picking up small rocks and depositing them in your shoe, which is nice, and the tread is almost always clear of rocks at the end of a run. As far as size, I chose the same size as my other running shoes and it proved correct for these Newtons as well. I will be purchasing another pair of Newtons, probably the distance stability as I really like having that lug to aim for. I am not an expert on shoes, but I feel like this design is helping me so far, and I may even improve my (slow) speed as I learn to launch from my mid or fore-foot, instead of constant braking with my usual heel-strike.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I am a fairly new runner. I have been an athlete my entire life (played football and have lifted weights the last 20 years), but was never much of a runner. I am pretty big (6'1" and 275lbs). I was previously in Brooks Beasts at the suggestion of my local running shop, but kept getting shine splints. I started doing some research on shin splints and ran across forefoot running and Newton shoes. So, I figured I would give the Sir Isaac S's a try. Have logged 12 miles on the shoes so far and have really concentrated on the forward lean and the forefoot landing (wish someone would have told me this years ago). NO SHIN SPLINTS PERIOD! No knee issues, only a little tenderness in my calves which with each run seems to reduce. I am now up to 2 miles each run at a good steady pace working on my cadence and forefoot landing. Great shoe. Looking forward to running now and not dreading it. Very very satisfied.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I purchased these shoes at the recommendation of my running coach. I've been a heel-striker for years, and am seeking to transition to a mid-foot striker form. These shoes are an excellent tool for that process. So far I have about 25 miles on them, and they are doing exactly what they are designed to do. My form is changing with the help of the shoe's design.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I have run about 75 miles on these shoes so far on a mix of treadmill, trail and pavement. They took some getting used to for me - you can feel the "lugs" under the ball of your foot, but once you have grown accustomed to them they provide decent cushioning for forefoot/midfoot strikers. They also have just enough heel padding for when I get tired and revert back to heal striking for short periods. They feel light. I ordered 1/2 size up from my Brooks (per Newton's recommendation), and that was the right size for me. So far I am happy with them and would order them again.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: Oddly enough, after an injury my gait changed to mid/forefoot landing and my old Hurricane 10 and NB 1220's just didn't do it any more. I tried the NB 800 and they were OK, but didn't work for me long term. I decided to invest in the Newtons and it has paid off.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I saw these in San Antonio at a triathlon, and when it was time to replace my Gel Kayano's, I picked up a pair.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: If you are curious about "natural" running and want to transition to Newton Running shoes, these are a great start since they have a slightly higher heel position than other Newton shoes (4% vs. 2%). The tread wear is very good and doesn't pick up debris when trail running. I also like the snug heel fit. It is very comfortable yet hugs the heel very well.

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: 2nd pair of Newtons...I am 5-10, 160lbs, 35 year runner, who, happily, has found these engineering marvels...adapts perfectly with full length orthotics...Isaac and the "S" are almost identical...Newton's are an unknown treasure...

Comments about Mens Newton Running Sir Isaac S Running Shoe: I'm a big guy and running has always been a chore for me. Any long distances would mean joint pain in my ankles and my knees. Not with these shoes. I started off slowly and now am up to 8 miles on my long runs. They work as advertised.
