Like the light weight and breathability. The toe box is a bit narrow for my foot but for a short race it is very suitable. Not sure if I would race it in for anything longer than 10k

These light weight minimalist shoes are great for me, who is a small older woman training for a half marathon. I love them and wear them on my short and long runs. These are the third pair I have owned.

Comments about Womens Newton Running MV2 Running Shoe:

I am a Half Ironman distance triathlete and my favorite running race distance is half marathon. I wanted to love these shoes because of all the great things I heard about them. I have been running minimal for almost 2 years- up to 10 miles on dirt in plain ole [@] $10 river shoes, and half marathon in Brooks Silence (on pavement) and I like my Merrell Pace Gloves, but they don;t have enough cushioning for me to go more than 6 miles or so comfortably on pavement. I am 150# and though I have a good forefoot strike, I am not light on my feet! I took several runs up to 6 miles to adapt to the MV2 (don't start high mileage in these without a transition, even if you are used to minimal shoes). My right foot adapted well- to the point where I could not feel the lugs under my metatarsals at all. But the left foot never did. On the left foot, the lugs are just in front of the metatarsal head and that causes toe pain. It never got better. I had to return them. I measured my feet and the shoes and it looks like the lugs on the left shoe are about 2 mm further forward than on the right, but I'm not sure if this was enough to account for the issue. The lugs must fit perfectly under the metatarsal head for these to work right. I suggest getting fitted at your local shoe store and then ordering your size from the least expensive place that provides a return policy of at least 30 days. And don't even THINK about using the MV2 as a trail shoe! The lugs cause the sole to be uneven and you will break an ankle.

Comments about Womens Newton Running MV2 Running Shoe:

These shoes are zero pitch, so they do take some adjustment. Once you acclimate to the fit, these are light, fast and have cushion! My only complaint is that they wear too quickly. Mine made it about four weeks or 50 miles per week average. This is not specific to this model, however. Most of my Newton's wear out in 6-8 weeks. I did a 15 mile training run last week and they offered me great support and speed. These are a narrow and tight fit, so size up if you tend to prefer more breathing room.
