Had been using high-end ASICS but decided to switch upon a recommendation from a friend. Glad I did! Incredibly light shoe that keeps my feet cool and prevents shin splints on longer runs.

I use the shoe for weekly training. Start out slow with these shoes or you could blow out your Achilles. When I run with these shoes I run 20 to 30 seconds faster per mile, adjust slowly I think Newton could be the best shoe concept for running.

Great shoe for the heel strikers among us. It is impossible to heel strike in these shoes thus the imapact to aging knees is lessened, speed enhanced.

Comfortable fit and surprisibly lightweight. A couple of drawbacks: the colors are bold, so if you don't like people noticing you, don't get these shoes. They are not great to walk in and one needs to be careful of sudden bumps in the running surface as one tends to slip or skid in this shoe when iunexpectantly encountered. I have recommended them to many and converted most.

A bit more pricier than other shoes, but worth every dollar.

As a 20-30 mile a week after three menisectomy surgeries in 2 years it was recommended by an orthopedist that I condider Newtons or Chi Running. I bought a book on Chi running and do not know where to begin. So I tried Newton's. The shoe only allows mid foot strike, which is much better on my knees than my heel strike style of running. I am faster and can achieve greater distances with Newtons than with a conventional shoe. I was told to rotate them in every other day with a conventional shoe. I diod that only for two days and only run on paved surfaces with Newtons. With Newtons a runner needs however to be very careful when running on uneven surfaces. Also please think about changing the color, I am a 50+ year old and recently divorced and the only thing I see of attractive runners in the opposing direction looking and smirking at my shoes.

I tried these mainly because I was going through other shoes every 150 miles. Since switching I typically go 400 miles without needing replacements.
The only con is that you need to transition into these shoes. When I first switched it took me about a month before my calves and shins could handle these shoes as an everyday trainer. Since then I can't imagine running in another shoe. I have been wearing motions for about a year and a half nob and use them exclusively for my runs.

Inserted new superfeet orange and put 20 miles on these out of the box...no problems at all. These are my 3rd pair and approximately run about a size larger than my normal size due to the fit Newton requires. My first pair were the Sir Issac. My suggestion is go to a running store and get fitted for the Newtons.

This shoe is light fast and very responsive. If you want to improve your running effciency this is the shoe for you. I have tried almost everybrand of shoes and this stands out as my favorite shoe period!
