I have been running with Newton running shoes for over 5 years now and - I like them because they are the closest you can come to running barefoot. They just have the correct amount of cushioning and force you to run more natural. In the beginning they tend to wear out fast, but as your running technique improves they will last up to 500 miles. I specially love the Motion III because it gives you a little pronation support. I'm not really crazy about the Motion IV upgrade (they tongue is very thin).. The motion III is seem to be more comfortable and is very soft. I will run on the Motion III and will skip the Motion IV.

I prefer a lightweight shoe with good cushioning, and these Motion III's fit the bill nicely.

These are hands down the best running shoes I've owned. I even tried the new Motion IV, and opted to get another pair of IIIs. Lots of room for my toes to actually work, great stability and cushion. Could use more arch support, but that is easily fixed with some simple inserts.

I needed a much larger shoe size than I normally wear because the 9.5 that i asked for was too small and too narrow. There would have been blisters and lost toenails immediately. Thankful that the young lady who helped me kept bringing shoes until I felt comfortable walking in the shoes in the store. No blisters yet, and still have all my toenails after my first three weeks at 9-10 miles per week.

I'd give it a solid 5 stars, but for a company that makes completely vegan footwear, these otherwise perfect shoes after about 50 miles, smell like dirty teenager socks shoved inside a bovine colon. Id blame that on my nasty feet, but my other shoes don't stink at all. Regardless, I keep buying them because they're THAT good!

The Newton Motion 5-lug system has been my favorite yet. I have run in the Distance, Energy NR, and the previous version of the Gravity. The motion works for me since it has the extra support in the heel since I am not totally a forefoot runner just yet. These cushion road impact, and the stability is greatly improved with 5-lugs. These are quickly becoming my go to shoe. Thanks Newton!

Wasn't sure if Newtons were for me, but thought I would give them a try, and so glad I did! It takes a few runs to get used to the lugs, but once you find that sweet spot, it's tough to rotate them out. Ran my first half marathon in them, and i honestly enjoyed it from start to finish. Uppers are high quality and very comfortable. Colorway is awesome, too! I'm not big on stability, but I do have really wide feet. So I appreciate the just a bit of medial stability with the EMB. No issues from a width standpoint, but did have to swap them out for a half size larger. They may not be light, but they aren't heavy, and they feel really quick.

These won't be for everyone, especially if you are new to running. But if the idea of "lugging it out" appeals to you, then give them a try!

Bought the shoe to train and race in IM 70.3 events. I've trained and raced in both the Sir Isaac S and previous versions of the Motion. I found the addition of the fifth lug to be a great improvement; however, the Motion III appears to lack the medial posting of earlier versions and is noticeably less stable. I would not buy this shoe again or recommend it to anyone needing even mild pronation control.
