I was a long time Brooks Green Silence guy but when they switched to the PureConnect, I decided to make a change. The CloudRacer is not as light as the Green Silence and, believe it or not, it is noticeable. However, that said, they are still a fast shoe. My initial issue was the tongue. I run without socks and the tongue is flimsy due to ON's desire to make the shoe lighter. However, the downside for a triathlete running without socks is that the tongue bends easily and causes blisters on the top of the foot. I had the outside of the tongue sewed to the shoe and problem solved.
My only other issue is the wear. I have only run 70 miles in them and already feel the mild knee soreness which, for me, is a tell tale sign that my shoes are worn. The CloudSurfer is much more durable and shame on me for training in the CloudRacer. I will now only use them for races but even at their recommended 233KM, that is almost $1 / mile! I'm going to stick with them in the short term but believe ON needs to work on the tongue, weight and wear issues.
Great shoe, great idea...
I already put them few miles (aprox 40) and used them for a 10k race. Until now I'm very impress about this shoe. Right amount of cushioning, great ride from the first mile and they can go fast.
I agree; these shoes are slightly heavier than other brands similar models and have a different design and appearance. Typically I prefer to be careful with new shoe brands and especially with untraditional design approach, but in this case everything works fine. When I found the awards that this brand obtained in Europe, I decided to give them a chance, and what a nice surprise.
I do not have miles yet on wet surfaces with these shoes and for sure this model is not for trails. Works great and has a good traction o road-pavement and track. I also found an article warning about stability on close turns, I did not find such problem.
SIZE -very important-: This shoe runs big. If you will order, request half size smaller.
Good shoe but be careful with size
I am happy so far with the shoes but have not put many miles on so may post more later.
Few points that may help buyer.
First, I find that On Technology shoes are slightly heavier than their comparable shoes from other brand. The cloudracer weigh in between a racing flat and a lightweight trainer. I have found the cloudsurfer to be heavier than my light trainers.
Second, they fit large, contrary to what the site here says...
I had to exchange for half-size smaller than I normally wear (and I have wide foot) and I have friends who went a full size smaller.
Other than that, I think it is a fine shoe, I will tell you later if it makes me faster...
I LOVE this shoe! It's super light weight yet offers support. I wear my orthotics in them for add'l support. I'm a female who wears 10.5 in women's but they don't have that size so I ordered the men's shoe in size 9 and it's great. I have problems with my feet yet these shoes are the best. A lot of pro triathletes are wearing them.....so take a look!

Lives up to the hype
With all the positive reviews I've been seeing about this shoe, I had to try them for myself. Albeit the slightly strange appearance (not your typical running shoe), I was not dissapointed. The shoe was very comfortable and light, but offered me enough support such that I would be happy to wear them over a 5k or in a marathon. I have yet to attempt a triathalon, but if I do, these shoes will be my top training shoe.

Best Shoes I've had in a long time
I use the shoes primarily for running. And it's perfect. Lightweight, breathable and really comfortable fit. Would definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for something for running. Give it a try.
