NOT a myth at all. Normal detergent makes tech clothing work less well. It adds softness and smell and it adds up. This stuff (and there is another brand that works just as well) makes a huge difference. Gets BO smell out of tech clothing and makes them wick much better. I have washed stuff side by side and it is different. Wash with this and the stuf dries faster and comes out with massive static cling out of the drier (yes, I dry tech clothing in the drier on low - it does not hurt them - I have stuff that is used weekly and is over 5 years old and in great shape)

Keeps your gym clothes smelling cleaner than using regular detergent.
