Amazing Road Shoes!!

I've had these Pumas for a few weeks now and they are incredibly agile and comfortable. Like some of the other reviewers have said, the shoes are a little weird at first until you get used to the way the shoe expands from your body weight. You just have to remember to walk/run/sprint normal and after a run or two you'll stop noticing it. I have been regularly running 2-3 miles in the mornings (2-3 days a week) and started putting about 5 miles on them every other day or so in the evening and they don't bother my feet at all. Be aware that at first your calves will probably get seriously overworked and be very sore. I have been told this is a common side-effect of adapting to "minimalist" shoes. My only real complaint about the shoes is they have a lax stability control. I under or over-pronate now (I can't remember which one off the top of my head) and these shoes have NO compensation for that. So my interior ankles are usually sore after long runs because the shoe doesn't prevent my foot from rolling inward as I run. Just something to think about. Aside from that I have no real issues. The heel on these shoes is fantastic, as long as you have a pair of socks that covers your Achilles' tendon. Otherwise you will probably get blisters there at first. I ended up having to play soccer in these one day in soft/muddy grass and they held up ridiculously well for off-road. They get dirty very fast, though and are hard to clean completely. Food for thought....Order them normal size for a perfect fit.

Mobium Enigma

This shoe is a complete enigma to me. When I put it on, it seems completely unusable, but when I run in them, they work well above average. It takes some extra time lacing it up in order to feel right. Part of what makes this shoe so curious is that it can strangle your ankle and at the same time, feel so loose as to have your heel slide out. ( regardless of lacing configurations). Walking around, I think this thing will never work. But somehow, they really conform to my foot while running. Enigma #2 - Great breathable mesh material that holds shape, but also expands with your foot... but then the tongue is a thin layer of plastic. I don't get it. Why no soft breathable material on the top of the foot(?) I'm a sucker for gadgets and these shoes have one. Enigma #3 - It's a gadget laden shoe that offers a "minimalist" experience. I get a real natural feeling running in these, probably even more so than Newtons. You can feel everything going on with the road below, but they also have an ample amount of forefoot cushion that is a noticeable benefit to me after 10 miles. I've put in over a 100 miles in them so far and have realized no loss in cushion or any signs of wear. I'm over 225lbs ( Clydesdale ), so they take some pounding. Of any shoe I've owned in the past 2 years, they've held up the best. I would advise against running on trails or gravel, as the "gadget" band is exposed on the bottom of the shoe. I can't quite put my finger on this shoe - I've thought about returning it, but it is still my go-to for mid distance. I hope Puma makes a few enhancements on a next generation, primarily the tongue and ankle fit, then it would be really a great shoe.

Great Running shoe

I've had this shoe for a little over a month now. It took some getting used to but after my 4th or 5th run I realized I had something special here. This shoe will help most with their running biomenchanics, foot strike and form. I enjoyed the cushioning, lightweight and support it offered and most of all I felt like my running form had no issues using these shoes. Great shoe and great job puma, this is one of the better running shoes out today and a great high mileage trainer and versatile enough for faster workouts as well. I was a sprinter in college so coming over to running long distance has been a process as well, but I'm a bit of a shoe junky and I enjoy trying different shoes and workouts whether long & tough or short, sprint specific workouts. If you can get used to these shoes, it will be a great shoe for you. I'd somewhat compare this to Skechers go run, Brooks pureflow, Karhu ride fulcrum and saucony Kinvara as it's lightweight and encourages you to use good running form and proper foot strike. If you heel strike it seems to propel you forward quickly and that is similar to the fulcrum and I've noticed this when I walk in these shoes. This shoe is for everyone like the brooks pureflow

Questionable durability

I will be returning these shoes. I'm normally a road and gravel trail runner putting in about 30 miles per week. The elastic band on the bottom of these shoes is not going to hold up after a couple hundred miles because it is directly exposed to rocks and the elements. The shoes were not comfortable to me. I'm a size 10, normal width, and a mid-foot striker. These shoes were tight around the heel and ankle, and loose up front. I know the forefoot is expected to allow for movement, but it was too much in my case. My feet were feeling hot from excessive forefoot movement. I also found the soles to be hard and very loud. I'm normally a quiet and efficient runner. My full review including pictures of the bands after the first run can be seen at

close to perfect

Just got a pair and went for a 18 km run with hills and flats. The shoe is very fast, with excellent cushioning and rebound, width is great, lightweight, but the heel feels too high, maybe 3 mm lower, and it would be perfect. The insole is cheap, with no arch. I just cut the insole on the heel in order to lower the heal, this takes a lot of work and pacience, but doing it, I got to lower the heel about 2 mm. This shoe is like a mixture between a Newton and an Inov-8 Road X-233. Have to see how it work with 100 more miles...

Soft shoe - too unstable for my taste

Decent looking shoes and quite nicely finished, but that's the best it has to offer. I found the shoe a little uncomfortable for my foot shape. The midsole wraps up around the heel and side of the foot and digs in a bit. Quite a narrow last and I have a wide foot. The main problem was stability when you run on it. The shoes feels wobbly under foot, especially the heel. I get the theory of how this is made, but in my opinion the execution is lacking.

Puma rises to a new level

Puma has created another winning running shoe. This shoe's innovative design and comfort makes this one of the best shoes on the market today. It is a great minimalist shoe that responds well to any running workout or race. This is a new favorite for me. I was running in the Bolt FAAS 350 but have switched to the Mobium Elite.

Awesome MoveCELL technology

I haven't ran in Puma's in years, but when I saw their new Mobium running shoe, I had to try it on. As soon as I stepped on the tredmill at the RRS store, I could feel how well the MoveCELL adapts to me and my movement. It expands and contracts with every step I take and and allows me to get an extra spring as I run. I think its a great concept that Puma has come up with.

Fantastic Neutral Trainer!

I have never worn PUMA running shoes before, but now I think I have discovered my new brand! As a neutral runner, Mobium Elite provides a great fit and is much better than my previous Nike Pegasus shoe. I never expected to enjoy running in PUMA so much, but this shoe has changed my mind. I highly recommend it!

PUMA Is Back!!!!

I ordered a pair of the new Mobium Elite shoes online and I absolutely LOVE THEM! They are super snug to my feet and make me feel super quick out on the roads. The "band" on the outsole is neat and really helps the shoe to move in a truly new and refreshing way. Plus, its super stylish :). Thanks PUMA & Road Runner Sports!

Update to Enigma Review

The upper has started deteriorating after 150 miles. Shoe looks new, but has already broken down after relatively easy use. Shoe was used on pavement primarily for 6 mile outings and properly maintained. Unfortunately, the upper gave way after about 95 days due to it being part of my rotation. Would have liked to return it.

sweet ride

my mobium shoes arrived earlier in the week and have been a nice change from my previous saucony kinvara trainers. looking forward to wearing in my upcoming 5K this weekend!

Almost the shoe of my dreams

The heel cushioning in the shoe is a problem. Forefoot is great. Supplemental padded insoles have helped somewhat.

comfortable almost minimalism

Very comfortable, highly cushioned, does move with the foot, as claimed
