I have always had problems with my second toe being extremely sore after long runs. It was difficult to wear shoes, put on pants or and even the sheets rubbing against them in bed was painful for a few days. Also because I've done 4 marathons, the nail has fallen off a few times and is pretty wrecked. Yesterday I tried these toe caps on a 15 mile run and am shocked that I have absolutely NO PAIN! In addition I forgot they were there and they stayed firmly put for 2+ hours. Maybe I can have a normal looking toe again!
The only con is that they are a little expensive. I saw them at REI for half as much. Oh well though, it is well worth it to have one less thing hurt after long runs.

I've been running for over 30 years and always have had trouble with blisters under my toe nails and lost nails. I have flat feet and very long toes plus, when I run my feet swell which makes everything worse. I used to use bandaids and blister blocks but these are the best things I've ever used. For my feet, they are a blessing. I haven't had any blisters or lost toe nails since and I cover long distances. The only draw-back is that they don't last. The heat in the shoes does funny things to the rubber but I don't really care about that at this point. I am more than willing to replace them rather than growing new toe nails and constantly popping and draining blisters!

I used these to reduce the blisters. I tried really good shoes and socks but still I got blisters on my middle toes. These toe caps have been easy to wear even during two marathons and they did not fall off. If you are considering using them then just go for it.

I agree with Phillyphatty. I used one of these on my big toe to cover a blister and it rode up my toe and exposed the blister during a 10K. Also the toe cap in the picture must be on a woman's foot. It barely covered half of my big toe, greatly contributing to the riding up problem.

Great product, but why are they so expensive at Road Runner? They are about half as much anywhere else.

I was pounding hard down hills and trails and developed awful blood blisters underneath the two middle toes on my feet. I had used medical tape, but that didn't really work well. These toe caps work very well, even though they get kind of gross after the run. I've been nursing the nails back to health for a couple weeks and hope to not need these. But, for now they are stopping further damage.

I injured my toes while running and have severe blisters. I used these gel toe caps on two of my toes that have blisters underneath the toe nails. These really helped to protect my toes while continuing to run as my blisters healed. I still am wearing them while I run although my blisters healed up about a week ago. Not sure if I will continue to use these long term, but I will test my toes and see how it goes.

So, I'm a runner, but I actually used these for flag football. Bought new cleats with tacky insoles, made a cut during a game and ripped the skin completely off the bottom of my big toe. The other big toe was close to the same thing happening by the end of the game. I picked these up at Road Runner and they worked. I am 6'3", 180lbs with a size 13 foot and I had no problem covering my entire big toe with them. They stretch quite a bit and fit very snug. I'm not sure how it's possible that someone couldn't fit them over their toe in a previous review. I do a lot more drastic changes of direction during football than I do during running and these did not budge on my toes. Not sure how they "rolled up" on other people. I did not have this problem. After one game they were in tact. I had a double header the next week and they still protected for both, but were ripping. So, they do not last and that's the biggest negative. They also obviously don't breath, so after several hours of exercise, your toe and the product become pretty nasty. But, they certainly did what they advertised. I have had no more problems with my big toes since using them.

Toe caps are amazing! They helped save my toe nails and enabled me to continue to participate in ultra running. I have suffered for years with toe nail pain and injured black nails from long runs and trails. Finally, I have found a product that works. Last weekend I ran my first 50 mile trail run. The conditions of the trail were terrible. It had rained all week and continued to rain on the day of the event. In the past, rain and mud made for a terrible combination on my feet. This run was different! I wore my toe caps and miraculously my nails did not hurt! This is a first for me. I can honestly say this product works. Can't wait to order more!!

Really helped with some sore big toes, lost nails from marathon. Took all the sensitivity away when ruunning, but curled off the first time I tried them. 2nd time, I used small strip of tape to hold them on and worked great. They are re useable even after taping. Really helps for continuing training even with tender toes!

Lots of different views on this product, I can see both ways, it may be your toe or the room you have in your shoe if they don't work. I use them occasionally to protect bad toes and they work fine.

Did the Mudrun at Camp Pendleton with these. Stayed on the whole time, and unlike last time, my toenail did not turn black.

Waste of money. I wore them to prevent a blister I get between one of my toes. However, these caps do not breathe. They retain moisture and
cause breakdown of the skin and a blister in a new location.

Don't waste your money. These came off my toes in a half marathon. And they can be painful over bad toenails.

A waste of money. I used them for a short run and the cap rolled off my toe. Perhaps my toe is too small, but I was angry I couldn't reurn the remaining caps. Too much money for a product you can't return if unsatisfied.

While I still don't understand the concept behind a four pack, consider i have 5 toes, I have been pleased with these little caps. I would prefer that they made them more specific however, with a different size cap for the smallest toe. Instead all caps are the same size which leaves the one I place on my pinkie toe a little loose. Nonetheless, they deliver as promised, no black toenails.

What a relief!! I have been losing toenails since I was a kid. Whether it was basketball or track it didn't matter. I tried tape and other methods but nothing worked. I figured I was doomed to keep losing my toenails. I ran a 5K today with the toe caps and had no problems. This product is a lifesaver and a toenail saver. This may sound a little over the top but if anyone has this problem they will feel the same after using this product.

I lost a toenail in two marathons in a row...my shoe ripped it right off! Pain! With these caps I keep my toenails and all of the skin on all of my toes. Super!
