I'm giving it 4 stars for the fit and feel/ride, but these definitely don't provide moderate stability- more like mild. The upper is awesome and the cushioning is nice and firm, the stability is just not there. It doesn't hold a candle to the nike triax or adrenaline in terms of pronation control and those are moderate stability shoes- that is why the other reviewer thought the Kayano was superior. It could stand to lose an ounce in weight also. So if you want a very comfortable shoe and are neutral or have very slight pronation, this shoe would probably work great.

I love these shoes. I tried the first syncroPace back in 2006 and have been hooked since. The syncroPace III is my favorite...comfortable the second I put them on and was immediately able to do long runs.

Pearl Izumi running shoes are overrated. I think because they are a trendy choice right now and that everyone wants to sing the praises of these shoes...but believe me the Asic Gel Kayano is by far a superior shoe. I'm 6'2" 200lbs and run approximately 25-30 miles per week...have run numerous races and marathons...point I'm making is I know running and running shoes....and believe me these shoes are not nearly as wonderful as everyone else likes to proclaim....I got sucked in to all the hype and bought a pair this past Spring...and immediately new I made a mistake. I hoped that after running in them for awhile they'd break in and become more comfortable....never has happened...I since have purchased another pair of Asic Gel Kayano's and use my Pearl Izumi's to hold down the shoe rack in my closet....don't get fooled like I did....the cool design and wonderful reviews are probably from people who want to make a statement by running in a lesser know but trendy running shoe...sure people

By far the best running shoes I've had after going through 5 pairs of shoes. Pearl Izumi has always been my choice. IP has truly outdone themselves with the syncroPACE III.
