    Does a very nice job of wicking persperation and keeping you warm or cool in a wide range of temperatures ( 22-50 degrees) as a baselayer. Best top I've found at accomplishing this, including wool. I find that zipping down the top and keeping my shell zipped up a great way to regulate the tempurature once I start to warm up. I use this as a baselayer under a both a lightweight and mediumweight shell but think it would be equally effective as a single layer. Typical top notch Pearl construction looks like it should last a long time.
