I was using an unbreathable outer shell jacket, and got soaking wet after 10 minutes run. I wanted a breathable winter jacket, but those are expensive and I was confused, because makers offer many different fabrics. To make the right purchase, I researched breathable and waterproof/windproof materials on the Internet, and came to the conclusion that gore-tex is still the best.

Fortunately, I recently became a member of the VIP Club, and had an extra 10% discount coupon. It gave me an incentive to purchase the jacket.

I am 120 lb, 5' tall, and ordered small size. The area around my chest is a little snug, but otherwise, perfect fit.

I have to say that the design is not the most stylish of its kind, but the functionality truly exceeded my expectations. It really blocks bitter cold wind, and let moisture out. Particularly, under arm zippers work great during and after the run. I was amazed that I was dry even after 1 hour run. Perfect winter shell jacket.

I wanted a casual waterproof (not water-resistant) jacket that was still breathable and not too hot. This jacket is perfect except for the wristbands inside the sleeves. I don't know why they put them in there if they already have adjustable sleeves with velcro on the outside. The inside wristband is tight so it's not easy to take the jacket on and off, and it's not comfortable especially with a watch on my wrist. If they took out the wristbands, the jacket would be perfect as I love the style and feel of it.

I haven't had a problem with the zipper. I wish that it came in more colors. I love my new jacket. So far it has kept me dry in our rainy Washington winter. It might be too warm as we get into spring, but I'll try unzipping under the arms for more ventilation.

Nothing like a gortex jacket for running in cold weather and wet weather. Third RRS gortex jacket I have owned over the last 20+ years. Keeps you warm and dry and breathes at the same time. Based on past experience, jacket is made to last.

Today we had a -11 windchill, 22 mph winds, but this jacket performed great. I have bought a number of "breathable" non-Gore-tex jackets and ended up donating them to Goodwill. Not this jacket, dry & warm after a 4 mile run. I like the knit extended cuff which keeps area between mittens & jacket covered. I'm 5'10'" and the sleeve & jacket length are good.

What a perfect running jacket! Love the purple color, and the jacket is extremely well made. One of the things that I find annoying about jackets is when there is an excess of velcro, which ends up getting caught on my clothes. The only place there is velcro is on the sleeve cuffs. Everything else has "hardware"--including the end tabs on the zip-off hood, where there are 2 snaps on either end. I wore the jacket in the rain and in the sub-freezing cold (the latter with just a heavy long-sleeve running jersey underneath) and was perfectly comfortable.

I'm very happy with this jacket!

Love this jacket! I bought it last year and have used it cross country skiing, downhill skiing, hiking (even windproof on the top of Mt Whitney), winter running, and early morning bikes. It has been perfect for all of these uses.I have had not problem with the zippers and the sleeves are long to cover you hands when needed. I disagree with the others about the wrist band... you need it snug to block out the wind and water! I find it stylish, for what it is, and have gotten tons of compliments. (I have the deep pink color). My husband bought one in grey and loves it to.

Great jacket but if your not 20 you might want to go up a size so you can layer underneath and still have a little room to breathe. There's not that much difference between the sizes and the shoulders and arms still fit

I bought one last winter. It is the best jacket I've ever owned. I run 10-20 milers in 10-20 degree temperatures and this jacket kept me warm and drier than any other jackets I've owned. Very breathable. I'm ordering another. This is a MUST have for winter runs for me.

I had to return 2 of these before I had one with no defects. The pockets are extremely difficult to zip open and zip closed and the 1st coat I had the zipper pull broke almost immediately. Back to the store for a second one- The second one, the minute I tried to adjust the cuff the stitching ripped off the velcro and the velcro came about half way off. So, lucky number 3, so far so good. I am not impressed with the quality control and I would not purshase this jacket if it were not significantly on sale.

The fit was perfect and the jacket is perfect for running, biking and snowshoeing. There is nothing else that works as well as Goretex for water resistance and breathability.

Jacket is warm and comfortable on long runs or just running to the store. The hood is almost useless as it doesn't actually cover my head and I have a small head (usually wear kid sized hats). I haven't used it in rain/snow yet.

I love this jacket!! I was hesitant at first, but after wearing it in freezing rain and wind, I'm hooked!! Love that it blocked the nasty weather but is very breathable. Getting the zipper started is a challenge, but not a show stopper. Maybe it needs broken in more. This is a must have!!
