Ok, I was having a problem finding shorts that would not ride up when exercising, and I discovered these compression shorts just in time for my first triathlon. They were perfect for the job! After I put them on, I never had to think about them again, which let me concentrate on the activities. It was wonderful not having to adjust them, or pull down the leg, or mess with the waistband. No chafing! No rash! No rigid seam to irritate your skin! I never had such a good pair of shorts. They were more than I hoped for, too, seeing that they dried off so fast! I will be using these shorts for a long time to come. One thing, however, was that I washed the shorts and hung them outside to dry and noticed one of the seams was becoming unravelled. I didn't know whether it was my fault for having a substantial bottom (5'7' 160lbs) or if it was a defect in manufacturing, but I got a replacement pair (thank you road runner sports!) and everything has been hunky dorey since.

really great for 'very' master runners
they're great. at my age,60...the extra length is important. but COLORS would be a great addition.
PERFECT for not-so-skinny girls who jog
Almost Perfect. I use these to jog a couple times a week, 3-5 miles at a time. I've had them a couple years, and have probably put a couple hundred miles on them. These are the PERFECT length for me, and the only 8" inseams I have found on the market. I am NOT skinny, so these are essential to preventing chafing since I would otherwise rub my thighs raw (7" inseam isn't long enough and 10" is so long they go down to my knees causing me to overheat in summer due to the extra coverage). While I am NOT one to wear low rise pants, I do wish these didn't go so high on my waist...minor complaint, though, since my T-shirt covers up the waistline.
Size: While I typical go with a large (which I currently have), I have debated whether to try a Medium in these since they defintiely aren't too tight/compressive (I'm a size 10/12). (FYI, my CW-X 10" are definitely true compression, and make me consider an XL since I can barely get my Large pair on).
Fabric: I love that these are more breathable than my CW-X shorts, but wish they had a little more substance/compression to them in the upper thigh/belly (but not to the extreme of CW-X)--they are definitely higher quality than those thin spandex, though, that show every flaw.
Thanks RR for an 8" inseam short!
Good quality, light on compression
I am a female 5'4" and 120 lbs. I ordered the medium because I do not have "slim" hips. I am pear shaped and this size works well for me. I ordered this compression short in the 8-inch length as I am doing an ultra run and needed something to support my upper leg movement during the running process. The fit is great, not too binding around the waist and the material is not thin and gives great coverage "however", I don't seem to feel the compression around my legs as I was expecting. I would recommend these shorts for running up to 10ish miles, gym workouts, walking, etc. But as far as compression for race day, I'm going back to a pair tri shorts. Regardless, a great pair of running shorts and would highly recommend.

Very versatile and comfortable!
I'm an 'over 50' athlete and love the longer length of these shorts. I was looking for something attractive, but did not want show to "too much leg". These are perfect!
I use them for weight training, group exercise strength classes, running, and spin classes. (There is no pad for cycling, but since I ride a lot, I don't need one.) They have light compression, but do not ride up. The draw string waist is nice, and they dry quickly. There is a small zippered pocket on the left hip area that is large enough to hold a key, ID, and GU packet.
I will definitely be ordering more of these in different colors. Love them!

Good shorts - not exactly as described
These are really great shorts for the money. They are great for long runs as when you sweat you don't feel like you are swimming in the traditional shorts. The compression feels nice too. They wick sweat and have breatheable mesh panels. There was no side zip pocket as described however there was a small back non zip pocket to stash a key and a bar or gu. They stay in place very well. The draw string is a little short and easy to sip into the band so watch out. Also the "R" decal is starting to peel off. Overall you get a lot for a good price. I am buying another pair of these. I've worn them now for about 4 weeks.

Fit the bill
I bought these shorts in 6", 8", and 10". I like all 3. Due to having bigger thighs, I wanted something to keep them from rubbing. Also, I'm sick of only seeing short shorts or capris at all the local sports stores. These work well. They are not as tight as a similar pair of compression shorts but as I wasn't really needing true compression shorts, I'm perfectly fine with this. Living in the South, running can get crazy hot. I wanted something shorter but which breaths. I am a little concerned that these seem a little thicker than I was expecting, but I've not had a chance to give them a test run on a hot day so I can't really say how they will feel. Hopefully, they will breath and keep me cool.
My favorite running shorts
This is my most favorite pair of running shorts I have ever found in my 7 years of running. They are comfortable and durable. I have had my current pair for 2+ years and they still look reasonably new. They are my go to shorts for long runs and races. I have worn this pair in 2 marathons and multiple smaller races. I'm back today to buy my second pair. The best part is if you have larger thighs like me body glide is no longer needed.
My greatest fear would be that these shorts get discontinued. If that were to happen I would be back to invest in several pairs.

Love these shorts!
I am unable to wear typical running shorts, because they tend to bunch between my legs and cause chafing. I need to wear compression shorts when I run. These are very comfortable and long enough so that they have enough coverage on my legs. They do not ride up and do not make my legs look like sausages. I have worn these on runs over 10 miles and have not had any issues. I love the side pocket to stash my key or an energy gel. I highly recommend them for anyone needs the spandex protection. Love them!
Love these shorts
I love these shorts. I've bought many pairs over the years because I have weight problems, and I wear them all the time. They never seem to wear out, either. No matter what kind of shape I'm in, from skinny marathon level to couch potato, my inner thighs rub together, and these prevent that. I used to wear Champion's 9" shorts, but those wear out after a season or two. The drawstring waist is useful, too, as I go down from one size to another. They fit and they're comfortable during hot NC summers.
I bought these shorts for running, and am pleased with them after running in them several times. After a hot and sweaty 12 mile run yesterday they still felt snug and comfortable. The longer length provides great coverage of my middle aged thighs, and they don't ride up at all. Even though I was careful (based on other reviews) the drawstring at the waist did disappear on one side inside the waistband, but the waist fits snug enough that I don't think I will need the drawstring anyways. I plan to buy another pair of these shorts!

At last I found you!
These are wonderful. I'm ordering 3 more pairs today. Good fit-doesn't give you "sausage legs" where the fabric ends. Extremely comfortable.
Great running short
I bought this short because of the 8"inch leg. Fit was great, however I wore them the first time to run a half marathon, noticed the drawstring style tie, and made a mental note to be careful when pulling them up and down. Sure enough, first time and one end disappeared through the hole. Not something I want to fret about while mentally preparing for a long run, with not a lot of excess time to fish for a missing end of a tie!!!
Buy these, NOW!
Great length. Buy these while you still can, if they still have your size in stock. They have discontinued them, and I like the fit/fabric a ton better than the new 8" Pro ones that are replacing them. I find the new ones less comfy and less flattering because of the higher spandex content. The new Pro ones are probably lighterweight; the fabric on them feels thinner...probably fine for girls with fewer curves than my body.
High quality, great pocket
These shorts are well-made and a nice length if you don't want your thighs flapping in the wind. The best part is the pocket. It's on the side, which means you can load it up but not get droopy drawers. And it's HUGE. I can fit my iPhone in it's case, keys, probably some Gu if I used it. Obviously you have to be okay with a big lump on your hip but it will hold a lot. My first pair look like the day I got them a year ago, and I've ordered a second pair. I believe they're a great value.
Close to perfect
Generally speaking, these shorts are great. However if you are looking for good compression these shorts won't meet your needs.
Also, the waistband string easily escapes into the inside of the waistband. I read the reviews before I purchased my first pair and knotted the string together before I washed the shorts.
I liked them enough to purchase one in each color.
These shorts are perfect for those who are looking for something a little less revealing than most typical running shorts. Although these are described as compression shorts, the level of compression is actually pretty light. There is enought compression to keep the shorts in place and prevent the legs from riding up while you run, but the legs aren't so tight that they cause your thighs to spill out at the bottom.
I am returning
I already own a pair of these shorts that I bought three years ago. I loved the older ones, but these have a funny short waist which hits me wrong. When I am working out I prefer comfort over fashion. The lower rise drove me crazy. I also have the 10" length which I like the cut of much better. Yeah, I have to put up with longer shorts - but the overall fit is well worth it to me. One final thought, I am 5'6 and the length is shorter on me than pictured.
Works for Me
I am training for my first marathon and needed shorts that would eliminate chaffing. Works great for me. I like the zipper on the side to hold my ID , credit card and key. I was a little apprehensive about the look of compression shorts and these look fine. The material is thick enough that I am not self conscious. The shorts are super comfortable and that is what sealed the deal when I first tried them on.
Love wearing this short under my "shorter" shorts. It provides me the extra coverage I like as an older runner. Like the 10" version, it is truly not a compression short, but it stays in place nicely. Like it's 10" version, the drawstring is WAY TOO SHORT! Watch out, or you will be digging for the string in the waistband. RoadRunner needs to fix that ASAP!
After 10 years and still wearabIe I decided to reorder and thrilled to see the fabric hadnt changed! The weight of the fabric is perfect I dislike material lthat is too thin. I am 5 feet tall about 119 lbs. and these are a perfect fit. Thank you!
Not a true compression short, but nice fit with good coverage for my 50+ year old legs. I haven't run in warm weather with them yet, but have done a pretty intense session at the gym and they felt a little warm - not as breathable as I'd hoped. The 1 pocket is nice, but I would like to have another.
Keep on runnin'
I didn't expect to rave about a pair of shorts! Kept them on after a jog tonight and tey are fabulous. Fit, feel, comnfort are all spot on!
They (as nearly all fitness clothing) are pricey but worth it.
I'll buy more when they go on sale.
Exactly what I needed!
I was having trouble with my legs rubbing together when I ran, even in longer shorts. The compression shorts solved that. I don't have the discomfort of my legs jiggling as a run, and it prevents my legs from rubbing. I couldn't be happier.

I use these shorts for my spin class and also other exercise classes at the gym. They are very comfortable, dry quickly, and are lightweight. I liked them so much that i bought a second pair. You can't go wrong with these shorts.
I love these compression shorts for running. I need a little extra hamstring and quad support and these do the job well. The zip pocket is on the left side. I'm right handed and find it difficult to zip the pocket.

Favorite running shorts.
This shorts are great for running. They do not ride up like some of the other shorts I have tried. They do get a little warm when it is hot out but that is doable. I will be buying more of these shorts.
My first pair. I like them better than my running short that ride-up. These stay in place and are comfortable. I would not wear them out just for running but thats while I got them. plan on buying anouther pair.
Wear them for running - training and races. Having a zippered pocket is a must for me. Comfortable and fits well. Have more running shorts than I care to admit and these are my all time fave.
Great running short
I love these shorts. I just finished my 4th marathon in them, and they are my favorites. They are snug in the waist and do not creep up, or down. The side pocket is nice and roomy, as far as running shorts go, although it would be better placed in the back.
