Great layer for cold weather running

This jacket has nice features for the sale price I paid. The pit zips and back zips help with ventilation. The hood can be removed and the cuffs and bottom of jacket can be cinched when needed. The hood is extended to prevent rain from hitting the eyes. The other reviewer thought that the coat was too warm to be worn. I agree, I would not wear this in non-freezing temperatures. However, I thought this was the perfect layer for temps that are below freezing, worn as an extra warmth layer, or to protect against a cold wind, or to protect from snow fall. I have three rain jackets that I wear for running - all at different weights. This one will be my winter "rain", or shall I say "snow" jacket.

Too hot for running

I ran in this jacket in 30+ degree weather and sweat was dripping out of the sleeves at the finish. If this is supposed to be a running jacket, I would advise not to run unless it is raining and very cold at which time it probably would be snowing. I had short sleeves shirt on underneath that has moisture wicking properties and it was totally wet with sweat. It's a nice jacket for walking in the rain but not running.

A disappointment

This was a disappointment as I purchased the same jacket approx 4-5? years ago which I love! The zippers on pockets and vents on this new model are not "user friendly" - I have to almost stop to zip/unzip where as with the older version the zippers are much easier to use. Also, this jacket has a hard plastic tab at the sleeve cuffs that is uncomfortable. The jacket looks great - 5 stars - but performance is only 3. I bought this one as I travel quite a bit and wanted to have 1 jacket to keep at home and another packed for travel. Wish it was as nice as the original one.

Excellent choice

Great material, nice cut, breathable and provides great rain protection, really warm with a layer underneath
